I CAN BREATH THROUGH MY NOSE AGAIN!!!
I started getting sick Friday. I'm pretty much all better now! And in time for when I was planning an offering for Sekhmet.

That's good that you're getting better now. Sorry I haven't been around for a while - I've been very busy with my cousin's wedding to deal with. Thankfully it's over now.

The wedding turned out being better than I had envisioned. My cousin didn't overdose on the spray tan for once...it was extremely well executed though -everything went perfectly to plan. It was a pretty fun night all in all.
Tonight I watched an awesome documentary about using infra-red satellite imaging to find structures hidden under the sands of Egypt. Wow. If I could drop everything now and go to help out at some of the new dig sites that have cropped up thanks to this work I would be very happy. It looks like there may be whole pyramids and cities buried under there!

That's good.
Ooo~ Do you remember the name of it? I randomly ended up on Hulu (thanks to a friend on Facebook watching old school Yu-gi-oh! on it) and found this one called The Pyramid Code. I'm saving watching it for tomorrow. I've always wanted to travel to Egypt. I think for class once we had this assignment that we had to plan a trip. I planned one to Cairo with a tour down the Nile and to the Valley of the Kings. I get a tad jealous on the KIN boards reading about some of the people's trips to Egypt.

Yes, it was Lost Worlds: Egypt - What Lies Beneath? It's a BBC production. The Pyramid Code rings a bell...I think it may have been on here a while ago but I must have missed it.
I've been wanting to go to Egypt ever since I was little. To explore the pyramids and temples and stand at the foot of all those magnificent statues...gosh if I could do that it would be a dream come true.

Ooo~ Looks like Curiosity, the series that did that mummy episode, did an episode by the same name too. Sorry Zane. We're not watching Tactics tonight. cat_whee If you can get on Hulu it looks like they have it all on there for free.
It would be wonderful. And I just remembered something that had been mentioned on KIN. One thread last year they had been talking about how some deities were more popular than others. And talking about going to Egypt reminded me how they brought up in the thread that some deities were parts of Egypt. Though there was mention of some of them possibly being more netjeri than actual gods. But still would be cool to be able to go to Egypt to see them. Meretseger was the one I remember from the thread. They said She was part of the Valley of the Kings.

Ah, that all right. I'll keep an eye out - the site said they may open internationally in the future.
Random question, but is there any Kemetic laws/stories regarding menstruation?

I do know there's stuff about it. Its something that I haven't looked far into that I probably should have. What I have heard about it was that it was seen as unclean and if I remember right they wouldn't let a women in the temples if she was menstruating. Its been over a year since I stumbled across it but I think there was like some blog post somewhere that someone posted about it and they wrote a ritual for women if they couldn't attend because they were menstruating.
I'll definitely start looking into that either later today or tomorrow after work. I hopped on to check Gaia real quick before I took my Sociology final.

Hmm, that does sound familiar. It doesn't surprise me either though, Egyptians deities are quite the fans of cleanliness I've noticed.
I hope your final went well.

They are. Part of the reason I was so glad I was able to shake my stuffy nose in time for that offering I did. Sekhmet got a bit miffed at me last time when I was trying to do something (I forget what) when I got majorly sick and was still recovering from it.
Final went well. Think I did decent on my other one. I won't know until next week.

Hmm. This'll definately be something to keep in mind for future reference.
You'll be right. smile I did quite well on my exams - I got great marks for two of my subjects and alright marks for my other two. I didn't fail anything at all so that's a bonus.

I was reading something yesterday on the Daily Ritual. And now I totally forget what I was going to say. Either way, I'm gonna try to find the link to where I got the pdf and post it over in the resources for you guys. Its interesting that the set up they describe was in the temples was what I was kinda planning for when I move out if I have the space.
That's good that you didn't fail any. What were the subjects you did alright in?
