((I thought we were moving on to day two? Oh, well. ^_^ So it'll be a bit out of order.))

Rime reached down and shook Avani's hand, smiling the whole while. Avery returned, straightening the shirt he had thrown off earlier onto his frame, but refusing to put on the overalls until Rime gave him a stern look.

He grumbled again, then sat down and pulled them on, leaving one strap to dangle towards the ground.

Sybil pointed and wrinkled her nose. "Avery looks like a hillbilly."

Avery made a face, and then shook a fist, which Rime caught neatly. Having both children in hand, then, she smiled at Avani, and said, "It was nice to meet you, Avani. Feel free to stop by anytime, okay?"

"Bye."

"See ya tomorrow!" Avery waved at her the whole way out of the school.

The next day, Rime returned with the two children. Rime sat Sybil down on the ground after carrying her in, but Avery charged into the room and skidded to a halt, looking for their block city.

It was no where to be found. The teachers had cleaned it up the night before.

He was devastated.

"NOO! We put a lot of work into that! That sucks!" He shouted loudly.

Rime shushed him, "They had to, honey, but you can build it again. And keep your voice down, and don't use that word." Rime did have a bit of a nag side to her sometimes.

Avery snapped his jaw shut and pouted sulkily, but gave Rime a kiss when she proferred her cheek. She grinned and then kissed his cheek back, repeating the procedure with Sybil. She said, "Cheer up, it can't be that bad, right?"

When she left, Sybil turned to Avery, and with a smug look, said, "I knew they were going to clean it up. I could tell."

Avery shot her a flat look, and then sighed, looking about for Colette, or Spiro, or Avani, or anyone else.

Sybil walked away from her brother and mom, heading towards the open area out back. She pushed open the sliding door to the patio, and looked around. After a moment, she spotted someone she'd never met before sitting next to a tree with a notebook. He was... not like any Kinder she'd ever seen, and she wondered if he was some new sort of Banir.

She headed over to him, making no secret of her approach, though as usual she seemed to make very little sound. She boldly walked straight up to him, studying his face as she went.

He looked like he was a very intense sort of person... but the vibes she got from him were... weird. They seemed to fluctuate between bad and good... but they were always very strong.

She stood right in front of him, only a couple feet away. "My name is Sybil. You're interesting." She announced boldly and bluntly.

"I think Lester suits you. What are you writing? Can you read? I don't know how yet. But 'Lida's trying to teach me. She doesn't talk, so it's hard."

She didn't seem to care that he didn't have any idea who she was talking about, and her python tail slid slowly back and forth behind her, as if it had a mind of it's own. She leaned towards him, and her mottled green wings stretched out behind her to balance the movement.

"Momma says it's because I remind her of the Greek preistesses at uhm... Del... Del-phi? I think that's what she said." Sybil nodded, pleased that he was wanting to talk to her.

"'Lida can't talk because she can't. Not a sound. But she can write really good. I wish I could read better. I only know a few words... like names, and things. And the names on my Tarot!" she was really proud about that. She'd gotten so she could even sound out Heirophant when she saw it.

She scooted around and sat up close next to him, leaning over to look at the notepad though the writing didn't make any sense at all to her. "Why would you write down that? Are you going to do something about it?"

Sybil nodded happily. "Uh-huh. You can tell all sorts of things from the Tarot cards. But I'm still learning, so I don't want to give you a reading... I might do it wrong."

She thought about his plans to rebreed all the plants, and he said something about plans... She looked him over, his vibes had gotten weird there for a second. But she shrugged. She liked him.

"Are you going to plant them, and make the rainforest come back? Momma says she thinks the people who cut it down for farms are some of the stupidest people on the planet."

She didn't really have any idea what a rainforest was, other than a big, wet forest, or where a rainforest might be, but she figured Rime knew what she was talking about.

"You're going to replant them? Neat! I want to help, too. I'm not very good with digging deep, but I can put them in the ground, right? And I bet lots of people will help!"

Sybil really had no idea what kind of work would be involved. It wasn't like planting a garden, and it wasn't as if it could be done in an afternoon. But sometimes enthusiasm is as important as knowledge.
