Adeline was looking increasingly flustered. "I- I- ooh! You are insufferable!" she hissed, turning around again to flounce back up the stairs.

Adeline, her doll-like, pale cheeks very pink indeed, finally managed to scurry all the way up the stairs. She crossed the waiting room and tapped on the hatch of the Alchemy center in her usual, feminine way, rapping delicately with the front of her knuckles. She could feel Al close by, and as her blush crept slightly down her neck, she reached up again and hammered on the hatch insistently with the side of her fist, genteelity slipping for a few seconds in her eagerness to get away. "THOMAS, for goodness' sake, open up!"
The hatch suddenly flew up by just a few inches, and the wizard pushed out a tray of specimens so fiercely they slipped halfway off the edge of the sill. It snapped shut again as Adeline picked the tray up and popped it safely in her basket, then crossed the room again and headed back down to the first floor.
At the bottom of the stairwell, she turned around again, slightly calmer, and looked up into his eyes. Unconsciously, her lips were puckered in annoyance. "Are you just going to follow me around now, then? Is that your game?"

“I am playing no game, Princess Adeline. But I trust that you won’t mind if I do follow you, correct?” Aloisius smiled charmingly at the elf.
His brothers had already given him the go ahead to follow her. Evelyn had no need of him until his shift. He was not letting this opportunity slip through his fingers.

“Oh, Princess, how your words can cut!” Aloisius said, stumbling backwards a few steps, the back of one of his hands pressed to his forehead. “What would lead you to believe such things? We haven’t even known each other a week!”

"And I don't even know your name!" she cried, "Maybe if you approached me like a gentleman, not some kind of obsessed stalkery scary man, I'd be a little bit more friendly! For all I know, you're obsessed with my body and if I ended up alone in a room with you, I'd be in trouble! And then tomorrow, you'd be chasing after somebody else! How do I know that isn't true, hm?!"

“I beg your forgiveness, Princess,” Aloisius said with a bow. “My name is Aloisius Alton. As for your suspicions, I will be glad to put them at rest. If all I wanted was your body, then why would I care so much about how kind you are? You cared for our little Evelyn. That tells me all I need to know.”

Adeline didn't look totally convinced. Her annoyance remained. "Don't talk to me about caring for 'little Evelyn.' Evelyn is a lady - a true lady, and she's an asset to us here. She's not a child. She's not a toy to sling over your shoulder and hurl into locked bedrooms. You and your - er, are you brothers? Sorry, it's just you do all look alike - anyway, you must all realise that. Everyone here will be most unhappy if they hear she's being mistreated. ...Why are you back here again?" she finally asked.

“Mistreated?” Aloisius looked wounded. “Oh, never! My brothers, Armin and Andreas, and I are here to protect Evelyn! We would never injure her. We’ve been helping take care of Evelyn—all the Harpers—for generations! I’ve known Evie since before she cut her first tooth!”

As soon as he walked into the Canteen, Atlae saw someone waving to him. It wasn't exactly subtle to him, and as soon as he saw who it was he realized why. It was Gloria, one of the women who had helped him when he had first stumbled across the temple.. He was lucky that there was someone he knew here, as she could help him find the Combat Master Jessie. He walked over to her quickly to see what she wanted with him before he would ask her to help him.
"Hello madam, It is a pleasure to run into you once again. I am pleased to finally see a face that I know." He said being pleasant and courteous.

 Alexi and Sven, having had their fill of the beach (and a random shopping excursion that occurred when Sven began chasing a butterfly toward the forest, Alexi subsequently following, and eventually ending up on the other side near the town of Gambino itself, and deciding what the heck, there's stuff to do here, why not do it, and going) decided to relax somewhere in the Temple. "It's so good to be back," Alexi said as she walked into the Temple. "Not just from shopping in town, but in general. I missed it here while we were recovering in Barton. What do you think Sven?"Crunch crunch!"Sven?"Crunch crunch!"SVEN!!"The boy looked up from his bag of cookies at his girlfriend. "Whah?" he asked, his mouth full of food. Alexi introduced her face to her palm. "Never mind," she said. "Let's go find someplace to relax.""Okay," Sven replied, finishing off the bag of chocolate chip cookies and tossing it into a nearby trash can. He then trotted off with his girlfriend, dancing a little bit in order to catch up with her.

 "Yeah..." was all that the melancholy Xeiashi could say while reflecting. He vaguely noticed that Evelyn had taken the piece of oak, but wasn't worried. If there was anyone he trusted with the seemingly-rubbish trinket, it was Evelyn. A thought occurred to him after a few moments' thought. "Did anyone ever figure out who blew up his office, anyway? I know for a fact that the Professor wouldn't have done it on accident" (Dun dun duuuuuuuuun!)

"Yeah, it's good to see you too," said Gloria, "How've you been?"

Adeline looked at Al as if she was weighing the truthfulness of his explanation.
"Well," she said, mollified, "I suppose if you want to accompany me, there's no sense in stopping you. But it will probably be quite boring. First, I was going to analyse these root-based salves," she said, lifting the basket a little to show him. Thomas had arranged the samples very neatly, labelling each small petri jar and packing it alongside the remaining sample of its root. "And write down my findings in rough. Then... actually, that is my main task for the rest of the day. I have a student coming about 6, we were going to go over my findings together and then she was going to transfer them to our grimoire."
For some time, Adeline had been working on a medicinal research project, assisted by Lacine, who was herself looking to become a specialist in many forms of healing. They were hoping to produce a very thorough textbook on the subject.
"But if I have time, I may begin tailoring a new ensemble."
