Karuta looked up at him before shaking her head and pushing herself up to a sitting position. "It's your turn to rest," she insisted, rubbing her eyes. She ran a hand through her hair and tilted her head slightly until she found a pair of fake black-purple cat ears that had fallen to around her neck. She fixed them and put them back in her hair.

Karuta smiled and set Ryou down so he was laying on the bed while she was sitting on the edge. "Just take it easy," she said quietly, kissing his forehead lightly.

Ryou nodded, keeping his eyes closed. A few shallow breathes later he was completely asleep.

Karuta smiled and watched him sleep for a bit. When she was absolutely sure he was asleep, she got to her feet quietly and looked around the room. Glancing back at Ryou, she snuck out of the building and wandered into another building in Christmas Town.

Ryou shifted slightly in his sleep, the shuriken cross necklace glinting in the firelight.

Karuta returned to the room about twenty minutes later with a small box in her hand. She shut the door silently behind her and checked on the fire in the fireplace before sitting on the edge of the bed, stroking Ryou's hair with her free hand.

Feeling her hand in his hair, Ryou shifted, waking up. Slowly he opened his eyes, looking up at her.

"You know that was a quick nap. You should rest longer," Kaurta with a soft smile, still holding the box in her other hand.

Ryou looked at the box for a moment before closing his eyes. "If you need me, promise you'll wake me up."

"I promise," Karuta said, kissing his cheek. She shifted so she was laying next to him, putting the box in her pocket while still stroking his hair lightly.

Ryou slid his arm under and around her, pulling Karuta into his side before drifting into a light sleep again.

A soft blush filled her cheeks but she kept her smile, leaning her head against his shoulder. She stared up at the ceiling mostly in thought though she didn't fall asleep.

Ryou's hand twitched in his sleep, and he shifted one of his legs up before staying still again.
