The blow landed somewhere on her shoulder blades, she was somewhat glad she decided to jump like that or things could have taken a bad turn for her. She was sent forward so she did the only thing she could think of to keep from falling again, she caught herself on Vulcan. She was closer than she'd like to be while she was still standing up so she took the time to retreat backwards and unhook her scythe once more. This happened in a short time span so she wasn't opening herself to more attacks from him.

Emma swung the scythe vertically to meet him, another skill that sent people flying. Her plan was simple, if she could knock him in to the air she could finish this while he was busy floating around, before he hit the ground he'd be knocked out. Because of the way and speed the scythe was swung she could have done more damage to his arms since he attacked in a different way, but she aimed directly at her target, nowhere else. This wasn't a killing skill even though she was using a scythe, if she slashed him then okay, but it was supposed to throw him off guard.

Description: A simple technique that causes bleeding wounds when stricken by it, obviously. The user swings their scythe upward, when an enemy is hit by it they are launched in to the air. Impacting the ground also does damage to the foe, however small.

Emma was surprised he'd managed to recover so quickly, even if he didn't go very high she didn't expect him to land on his feet. Emma twirled her scythe above her head and slammed the bottom end of it in to the sand, challenging him to come forward. She was starting to feel a little shaky though, the more she fought and wasted energy the less effective she became. She was still using her advantage of speed over his, maybe she'd end up getting a lucky enough hit and end this battle.

Emma waited, watching him. She wouldn't make the next move because she knew she'd fail. She stood her ground and gripped her scythe with her remaining strength. "I won't lose this..." She told herself, she wanted this as badly as anything. Her body was relaxed now, she had to be loose to dodge this close up, as she'd learned earlier. Being tense only helped if she was being attacked by a range, or something she could anticipate.

Emma narrowed her eyes and charged forward directly at him, she jabbed the bottom of the scythe in to the ground again and used it to lift herself like a pole vault. If she didn't move she'd look like a flag since her body was sideways on the scythe. With a quick combination of her techniques she swung her foot at Vulcan's jaw, hoping the momentum of the attack would actually throw him off. Even with bones like he had now he'd be shaken up if such a powerful kick actually landed square on him, she needed this to land as to stop dragging out the battle, it was killing her with all this energy loss. That kick was meant to be aimed at his chest, but she was beside him, that changed it.

Description: The user with run straight towards the enemy in a fake assault. Using the scythe's range they will vault toward the enemy and deal a heavy kick to their chest, it's often enough to send foes sprawling across the ground.

In a reflex Emma threw her hand across the area spanning between her and Vulcan and shielded herself from the blow with ki. This caused her to fall, but she was still okay as far as she could tell. "You almost had me Vulcan...I would have been done for if I made a second mistake like that." She stood to her feet and took up her regular stance since she lsot a grip on her scythe and she was at close range with him again. She'd have to pick it up soon.

Lunar Basics: Swipe

The user holds their palm out towards their foe, fingers up, and makes a sweeping motion in front of them with that arm. Their Ki follows suit, and creates an arc of energy, which for a split second can block any attack of E rank or any weapon or martial art basic attack.
