Sierra my dear, please dont be sucha dumb cluck that I feel the need to kill you when it ISNT of the most impact to my plans... I am a Cainite - that's vampire to you Kine. I dont eat like you do, and I certainly dont drink with a fork... such a thing is pretentious anyway. I am not humana nd I do not pertain to be such. My natural implements are much better designed anyway.

*Here, she let her cheeks split, making her grin overlarge... and far to full of teeth. SHARP teeth*

As for you Quint... I cant complain. Killing is the ultimate decision, for mortals. Death is the end and the deliverer of death may as well be a god to the person he or she kills. Unlatching the moral and instinctive locks your mind has will allow you to achieve your goals with more efficiency and success. the world I inhabit, teh world you seek entrance to, is FULL of monsters. Some of them I personally created. And every single one of them is a killer. If you harbour any such fool thoughts as love for Kine or fellow man, you will find yourself compromised. Should my enemies become your enemies, they will think nothing of kidnapping your sister and holding her to force your hand if they believe this will get a reaction. They will torture, mutilate, kill, maim, cripple, slash, stab, cut, shoot, whip, burn, freeze, tear, rend and generally corrupt anything you hold dear to achieve their aims, because you know what? In my world... Im one of the good guys. A monster yes... but still not the worst there is. Even my own clan, who I cherish dearly, were ALL killed. By MY hand. And then I brought each of them back which in many ways is MUCH MUCH worse. This is the world you desire.

*She paused, looking down at the head in her hands*

The people I know and fight, have monstrous skills. They can punch through just about anything, run faster than a cheetah, fly, swim, ignore teh bonds fo daylight, change form and shape at will and they can and WILL hurt you if they get a chance. So I ask you... just how far are you willing to go, Quint Blitzbane? Here, in front of your colleagues and your old life... are you sure this is what you want?

*She then threw teh ehad at Quint. On catching it... Quint would notice it no longer resembled the male she had killed. In fact, the whoel skull seemed to have undergone some strange metamorphesis under Roan's talons, the fact changed, finer, more feminine, the hair shorter, more graceful... in fact, the dead face, so clearly no longer among the living... was that of Sierra. roan's mismatched eyes blazed into Quint's as she watched him/her, her fangs showing on her bottom lip in a wide, dark smile*

"Brainnnnnnnnnnnnnssss..!" Gatz cried playfully, doing his best imitation of a zombie. "Well donnnnnnnnnne..!"

He held the goofy look on his face for a moment more before sighing and pushing his hair back.

"Sierra, Rake likely doesn't plan on eating that thing at all. It's simply playing with it for fun, and if I understand human culture correctly, that's actually worse." The entity looked around at the tainted landscape and shook his head, before turning to face the daemon.

"... You know, Rake, I was hoping that it wouldn't come down to this. Don't misunderstand--" he added with a confident grin, "--there was never a moment I doubted that I could kick you arse. It's just that I was waiting for my friends, and the other residents of this island to do the job themselves."

"As of late I've felt that they've been a bit too dependent on me. Sure, I could fight all their battles... but where would that leave them? There'd be no grow of character, no development of their true abilities. In the end, overprotection would do my friends more harm than good. So when you showed up, I decided to try and let them fly solo for a bit..." The entity glanced at Quint for a moment, then shrugged.

"... I think we can all see how that's going so far," he said with a dry laugh. "I've decided that it's time to pull this ride over and take the wheel back from you, since no one else seems to have the strength of conviction to do it." Gatz popped a few imaginary cricks out of his neck and shifted his right leg back, assuming a fighting stance. His right hand shifted the titanium umbrella at the back of his waist slight, making sure it was at an angle to be drawn quickly.

"Well, I'm ready anytime you're ready... Quint," he said softly. "Your choice."

((*will explain more about that last line in Gatz's response, if you don't understand already*))

Gatz, thats the most contrived bunch of bullshit I ever heard. If what you say is REALLY ture... your love for this place is completely false and you couldnt care less what happens to Quint from here. Nor do you in fact overly care about me or what I do. As a being made the way you are, you probably dont care about a whols lot, save prehaps for getting laid, and the only way this pathetic show of sudden back bone is going to aid you in any way is by prehaps impressing Sierra somewhat. Do be quiet.

*She waved a hand dismissively, genuinely NOT interested in Gatz, his sudden change of stance, or his reasons for doing so. It wasnt why she was here and since her previous objective had been achieved, teh island itself was of no consequence any longer either. The only reason she had returned, plain and simple, was for Quint. Upon whom her gaze once again rested, though her voice drifted to Gatz as an after thought*

Oh and for the record? Not Rake anymore. Got my head straightened out. You can either call me Lady DeSeer... or Syn Vengeance. Whichever title you prefer.

*She expected some kind of sarcastic comeback to that... but just didnt care*

Gatz gave a sharp laugh and shook his head.

"You actually bought that??? Rake, you of all people should know that some beings have origins going back before 'that' was even invented!" He gave Quint a sly wink. "The whole pervy thing is fun, but it's largely there in part to humanize in the eyes of others. I have to say that it seems pretty effective so far. Don't let Aonice catch on--it'd probably break her heart."

"And I do care about the others..." Gatz said, turning his attention back to Syn for the moment. "I care enough about them to let them walk their own road through life, rather than choose it for them. But I doubt that's something a being as self-centered as you would understand."

"Now then..." the entity began, turning back to Quint. "As Syn--who is most definitely not a 'lady'--has established for us, she's a black-hearted b*tch with no morals or scruples to speak of. If you're serving her against your will, she'll likely have you attack me to erode my moral and preoccupy my time. That, and demonic beings tend to be great lovers of irony--I should know," he said with a grin. "If you're serving her willingly, you'll simply attack me anyways. And if you have the courage and strength of will... or 'stupidity'," he said with a chuckle, "to stand out of the way, or even along side me as I fight her, then I don't need to worry in the first place."

"... Thus why I'm facing off against you at the moment, ready to kick your butt if it turns out to be either option one or option two," he said with a smile. "So, like I said Quint... it's your choice."

Only by reaction did Quint actually catch the skull coming at her, the sockets replaced by eyes that seemingly pleaded for its life. She knew of trickery on the visual plane, it was too easy to do. Her mind was made up for the most part however, save one thing: Sierra. If what Roan said were true, then she would be the prime target for getting to Quint. At the same time, not too many people knew of Sierra, nor was there any other family to kidnap in her stead. If she could keep even having a sibling hidden from here out, then she stood a chance at not bringing her sister under pressure.

Still looking at the head, Quint spoke with a smile. "My choice...I like the sound of that."

On the top of Gatz' base, the wind grew to a gust, their standoff under full effect. One person had the power to change the moment at their whim, and it would seem that this person had their mind made up every since creating the head that lied in her arms.

Looking up from the head, Quint 'carelessly' tossed it towards the ocean, taking a quick glance as it rolled down a slope, "..You know me well enough to know I always crave an entertaining match."

One last look at Sierra told her that she probably needed to find a safe spot, she sidestepping over to Roan, who she'd reply to soon. Right now Quint's sister took on a passive role, not stopping Quint because only two things could happen: She'd win, or lose. Winning would mean Quint would follow Roan, something Sierra thought she could right, or Quint could lose, and that meant..well..she didn't know. That would depend on what 'losing' relates to.

"Before we begin however, I'd like to say that out of everyone on this island, you are the most eccentric and chaotic of them all, and I like you for that Gatz. One could say I even respect your authority when it comes to your wisdom and advice." Quint bowed respectfully, just kept her chin high to keep an eye on the entity, "However, we seem to be at a cross, each of us wanting to go down a separate path. I won't be deterred from mine!"

Here she took her own stance, slowly exhaling as she pushed outwards with her palms, index, middle finger and thumb stretched, the other two fingers in as if they were making a fist. Quint's two hands came together around her solar plexus, forming a sort of triangle. Her lead leg slid towards Gatz as she dug into the soft dirt, solidifying her position.

WHAT a load of hypocritical bullshit.

*The Cainite raised an eyebrow in absolute amazement at the sheer stupidity pouring from those around here lately.*

You cant wave off physical attraction on one hand as if it doesnt matter - which I never actually said it did, I only said it was a possibility... then instantly contradict that by hiding behind emotional concerns. THIS is why I have NO respect for you Gatz. You're the lowest form of 'life', and if you think IM self-centered.... go take a look in a mirror. I neither have to justify myself to you, or reveal my goals, and at the end of the day... you're almost just like me. Leaving your so-called friends to 'fly solo' while you dipped out cos they'd leaned on you so much lately? And now stating you care about them? Please. Even you can come up with something better than that... something more consistant.

*Her voice then turned its scathing edge on Quint*

And as for you... dont be stupid enough to assume that just becasue someone lays down a challenge, you have to accept. Will you gain anything from fighting Gatz? Is his challenge anything to actually do with you, your beliefs, or your chosen path? Will simply leaving him to his own devices cause any harm? Personally, I'd treat him with the contempt he deserves and simply leave him. He did not defend you when you needed it, and he is no threat now. WHat's he going to do? Hurt Sierra? That puts him on my level, and in all honesty isnt a concern anyway. You made your choice, there's no need to indulge those you will leave behind. He is nothing.

*She spat at the ground, again her interest locked onto Quint's eyes*

Eyes targeted on Gatz, Quint heard Roan from one ear, it processing as its words flowed through her. It did make a lot of sense: Why fight someone who isn't really in the way? No, only those who would hinder matter, Quint calmly relaxing her stance to normal, it sending a small hint, saying that she was learning.

Lately Quint had been spotting Roan staring her with much intent, and for a while it didn't really bother her. Now with Gatz still a potential threat if he attacked, she still peered at Quint with the same focus of before.

It would be stupid to look away from Gatz, experience taught that, so Quint only blinked once to catch Roan's attention: "Need anything?"

Only you. I came here for this sole purpose, and now it is achieved, there are other concerns which are far more pressing than these... Kine.

*She scoffed and fanned open her wings*

There is much I must tell you, and as always, little time. Especially if one set of my plans falls through... and that isnt too far a possibility. Family really are... a problem.

*she sighed and shook her head, the breeze catching in her wings until she only held the ground on tiptoes*

Meet me at the pier... and be prepared to leave. Our time here is done.

*Wings beating heavily once, twice, she rose off the ground and adjusted the tilt of her wings to hover above the trio below, making sure Quint rose to eitehr go to her own home and fetch thinsg she needed, or directly follow Roan herself*

.: Make this quick mind-bound... my enemies wait for no one and I must know what they are doing before they do it. That would be where you come in. :.

"Pier." Quint spoke to herself, back to her sister. "I gotta head back to the house, and to Morrigan's, but after that I'll be there." Her wings stretching out, Quint prepped herself for flight, not speaking a word to Gatz or Sierra. However, once she was in the air a few feet, heading to her own home, Quint sent her own telepathic message, it aimed at Sierra.

"Don't try to find me, even I don't know where I am going. Sis, please understand that what I am doing has ulterior motives, and that I won't be gone long. People here on the island won't hurt you; stay at my place when I'm gone."

Quint was halfway to her own house when she spoke of the most important thing Sierra had to do, "Do NOT tell anyone that we're related. I'm not going to be using my last name, so I wouldn't worry about that, but I've never met you in my life, got it?"

By now the once male Quint was rocketing towards her home, ready to pack the things she needed.

"Oh right..can't have that.." A sudden sharp turn sent her to the beach, where Bleu could be of some assistance..

Of course it seems hypocritical, Gatz thought to himself. That's part of what being 'human' is about, after all... Besides, I never stated that I was a selfless person in the first place.

He shook his head and sighed, smiling weakly to himself.

"Really... Some people have such a limited understanding of human nature. But if she doesn't feel like pitting Quint against me, then that's just fine."

The entity took a step forward and was suddenly flying through the air, the wind whistle past his clothing as he sped through the skies after the daemon.

"Syn, I don't think you really understand what's going on here," he said softly to himself. "I'm not just going to allow you to go along your on merry way after everything you've done here."

Gatz swerved in front of the creature and snapped around, aiming a roundhouse kick at her stomach.

*she grinned as Gatz made the transition to air, her huge pinions holding her easily enough in the sky. Strangely, she did next to nothing to stop Gatz, letting his kick connect and simply backflipping over in mid air, each wing flapping just slightly to maintain her upright state as teh flip completed. On her arm, the hebrew writing writhed, thickening, turning her left side black until the darkness rose and solidified asa defensive gauntlet, matching the attack based one on her right arm, its blue orb sparking into life. The sword on her back remained where it was, but both eyes shifted to white, blue energy ringing them as she smirked*

I'll only tell you once Gatz. You cant kill me and Im beyond caring about fighting you. I really do have bigger concerns, much as your ego believes there is nothing bigger than it around. You want so badly to get me back for what I've done? I suggest you protect Sierra, Aonice... any of the others in fact... in case I start using them as examples.

*Extending her left arm suddenly in a viscious slash, she felt teh phoenix make its transition to her glove, its screech comforting to her... especially as she knew exactly who it was. Diving neatly from her arm, the phoenix climbed higher into teh air behind her, its outstretched wings burning with heat and rage*

"Well gee," Gatz replied with a devilish smile. "And here I thought I was supposed to be hypocritical, self-centered, and the lowest form of life. Why, then, would I bother to protect anyone..?"

He chuckled as the phoenix swooped in, making a dive towards him. As the beast closed the last few feet the entity rolled to the side, holding one hand up towards the beast. For a second there was a flash of darkness, a tear of blackness against the azure sky and crimson fire. Then it was gone...

The legendary bird continued gliding on past Gatz. Then a small crease appeared down the middle of the pheonix, where the entity had cut it with his 'blade'. The beast flew on for awhile longer as it split in two. The seperate halves finally came apart, and the remains began to tumble eathwards.

"You see, right now I'm just trying to live up to your expectations," Gatz said with a sweet smile. He causually rested the Laguna Blade he held across his shoulder, seeming to ignore the crackling, ebony sword of chaotic energy. "... I don't use it myself, but I hear that part of the human spell used to create this effect goes 'power that can smash even the souls of the gods'. My experince proves that line to be fairly accurate--" He threw his adversary a playful wink. "--Want to help me test it out once more?"

*Raising her left arm once more, Roan smirked as the phoenix once again appeared there, dipping its head to allow her talons, now extended, to caress its head*

My expectations of you are incredibly low Gatz. As I told you previously, you cant beat me, and I have other things to worry about. You've probably got about, oooh, twenty minutes to make your point, whatever you finally decide that point is, before I'm out of here. You simply arent worth my time darling.
PostPosted: Mon Jan 22, 2007 9:58 am

((Pheonixes are supposed to be reborn through fire, you know...))

*now finished*

"Who said there has to be a point?" Gatz said with a chuckle. "But if you insist that I speed things up a bit, let's see how some of your little buddies are doing..." The entity made a gesture with his free hand, as if twisting some part of the universe out of place. Then he sat back, waiting for the effects of his action to rise to the surface.

Inside of Syn, a ripple of movement started through the pool of beings known as Legion. Though small at first, the disturb quickly began to grow more pronounded, the monsters on the surface of the beast starting to writhe and shake. The monster felt all its power was suddenly boiling to the top, as the countless damned souls that made up its existance were burning with the need to expel the force they contained. For Gatz had utilized chaos to tap into the beast's full potential, unlocking all of its devestating power--and at the same time, removing that pesky self-control that normally held the demonic energies in check.

"... Be thrown into chaos," he intoned, grinning wickedly at his opponent.

((Basically, this is a move that makes someone's 'powers' go bezerk, usually enough so that they self-destruct. The more powerful a being/the beings are, the more effective it tends to be. As stated, the target loses all control of said power, so it gets kind of messy. Even it the target does survive, it would have completely spent its powers, so you shouldn't expect them to do much afterwards.

BTW, there's a couple reasons Gatz is targeting Legion and not Syn herself--not the least of which is he kind of hopes her own body will act as a buffer for the rest of the island if everything goes nuclear. That, and one-hit kills aren't all that fair. ^_^ Despite how he acts, the guy actually plans ahead from time to time.))

Thats interesting...

*She landed, letting her tattoos roll over her body, FEELING the mental barriers brekaing down, and though Legion did not instantly try to take her mind, it would be mere moments before one of teh generals caught on to the complete lack of defining boundaries... save for... ah yes. *

Take, Rayth, out. Quick.
.: No! I wont let this happen! :.
The worst that can happen is this body dies and Syn has to sort the mess out. Do it. I promised you... I wont leave you again. And you wont have to leave me.

*She smirked as Take and Rayth both emerged from her skin, the huge Daemonic entity, now truly himself, standing over her like some dark malvolent angel, his wings fanning her*

Take. Our last little jaunt here made a big difference to our reltionship... we dont need Legion anymore. Find the book. Rayth... use the links that are yours. Find Void and Azazel. Remind our friends who they all are... and dont worry about me.

*Having issued her orders, she sat down, crossing her legs. The phoenix rose over her, malvolent and suddenly more solid as a red ring appeared beneath Roan's body. Inside her mind, she felt one of the darker Generals leech like a dirty insect over her, seeing the powerful nodes she kept in her head, but finding most empty with Take and Rayth now manifested. She had a little time before they became powerful enough to break her iron will, but in the mean time, she martialled her energies into drawing Legion the way she wished to.
Take stood behind her, his wiongs forming the back of a shield which then shifted in front of her, encompassing her totally. The Daemon's lisp moved in silent chant as he glared blank eyes up at Gatz, while Rayth completely vanished. Calm radiated from the Cainite as her tattoo's extended themselves into teh ground, long black lines of hebrew like ant lines stretching out from her slowly but surely*
