Things had quieted down significantly since the start of the argument, although to be quite honest she hadn't really been paying too much attention to it, and what abrupt silence that followed looked to have taken Natalia by surprise. Somewhat interested in the hub-bub, but not particularly feeling the need to nose about, Natalia turned her attention to Julian and offered a smile.
"Thanks, I appreciate it." Sliding her hands down her torso and into her lap, the ghoul remained quite still for several moments. Then, as thoughts began to surface she looked again in Julian's direction and prompted him for some general chit-chat. "So, I haven't seen you around before. What other classes are you taking?"
As nonchalantly as she could, Natalia glanced around the room and made note that those who had stirred the pot were now so still it seemed nothing had ever happened. It almost made her regret having not been a part of the action...aw well.

Julian nodded when she expressed her appreciation and was turning away when she continued. His attention snapped back to her and he blinked for a moment before his eyebrows rose a fraction.
"Oh, um, Great Works and Shadowcraft, I'm signed up for Home Ec and took Nurse Cricket's... sex-ed course," he paused there to mumble a bit over how that last one hadn't been necessarily by choice, how one of his "friends" had dragged him to it and it had only led to a near-stroke when his assigned partner had lost their practice-baby.
"I took the intro to Botany class, and have been trying Prof. Byrn's maze. I got through it the first time, but I've been having a bit of trouble ever since. What about you?"
Wow. He'd just managed to talk comfortably with someone he didn't really know! His feathers fluffed a bit with pride, feeling that maybe coming to school was a good idea. Sure, he had the stressful situations, but he was getting better interacting with people! Heck, he even had a date coming up! He... And the nervousness over said date was back, like an imp clinging to his shoulders and snickering in his ear.

Admittedly she didn't remember much after she took her seat. She spaced out for a bit and missed a majority of the conversations that happened around her in favour of just sitting there, staring into space. She had a lot to think about and many things to do recently, nobody should really be able to fault her for spacing out...if they knew how much she had on her plate at the moment.
Blinking, she snapped back to reality and took a startled look around her as though trying to remember where she was and what she was doing. For a moment she stared at Riley, who was sitting directly across from her (she must have imagined sitting beside Charlie as it seemed she was between Livius and the unknown boil again), and then she leaned back in her chair a bit, looking down the row to see if she imagined anything else. It didn't take her long to spot Shehk, and after a moment of trying to recall where she knew the ghoul (oh, right, the play, duh! ...Well, the play and Christmastown), she found herself calling out to her.
"Psst! Shehk!" She whispered harshly, obviously knowing her name from the whole play business. "I didn't know you were in this class, too~!" She didn't recall seeing her in the earlier lesson - then again, it wouldn't surprise her if she was wrong.

So...Natalia was slacking.
Luckily she had the excuse of being a new student, since there were more courses named within the last five seconds than she knew existed; but still, the ghoul felt a bit ashamed to only have a few courses under her belt. In an attempt to scoot aside her own bashfulness, Natalia chuckled and waved her hand, much like a woman shooing away a fly. "Oh, you know..." She started, eyes shut loosely in thought.
Then it hit her that the boil mentioned something about...Byrn. No, a maze; yes! That damn maze! The one she had such a hard time getting through! What the hell was with that anyway? What kind of course...or exercise, whatever, was that? Forgetting all her previous worries, Natalia tilted her head and questioned. "Uhm, how did you make it through Professor Byrn's course? I...am having some troubles with that myself." Tapping her chin with the hand already in mid-air, the werelemur sighed and shook her head, backtracking. "No wait, don't tell me."
"I have only gone through it once, I'm sure if I keep at it I'll eventually find my way. I'm only enrolled in two so far; this class as well as Professor Malcom's Minipet training course." As she said this her nose twitched, hoping he'd take it as a 'we've already talked about misbehaving pets, how convenient to have a class suited for them!' sort of gesture. "I haven't had much time to check out the others available to me. Sort of preoccupied, if you know what I mean."
...wait...he wouldn't know. In fact, Natalia spoke without thinking; she didn't even know what that meant. Pressing her lips together, she spoke quickly to clear the field. "With homework and stuff of that nature. Making friends has also been taking up a lot of my time..." For once she did not mean to come off as perverted...and yet she could not escape it.

Charlie, not so smoothly, stumbled into class. The demon was LATE. He had a some form of paper crumbled up in his sleeved hand that he smoothed out once he hit the round table. The little demon looked quite proud of his home work after all hed worked VERY HARD on it. The rest of the students seemed to be lively this time around. Charlie quietly took what ever free seat he could find and sat prettily acting as if he'd not just been late. Hopefully no one noticed his blatantly late entrance.

Holly sighed as she sat in here seat. They had changed slightly but both the boils from before were sitting next to her. Well one was here, the other was late. She eyed Charlie who had just come in late. "Little late aren't you?" Hopefully he'd leave her pajamas alone this time.

Shehk's ears perked when she heard someone whisper to her, looking about to try and spot the 'offender'. Oh hey! She recognized that ghoul by all means! The Pricolici lifted one hand to wave to the Vetala.
"I wasn't until they opened up a few more seats in it." Shehk said in return, not really 'whispering' back, but at least making a point to not shout it out. It seemed weird to 'whisper loud enough to someone a few seats down to hear', after all. Certainly it had been allll luck she'd gotten into the class at all. Luck and a lot of running to make sure she could nab a shot at it.
"It's proving to have a touch too much excitement for me already." she added with a sly grin, looking towards Calder and Christof after their lovely hullabaloo (she didn't, however, look at Riley; Riley wasn't the troublemaker in question in Shehk's mind!).

It seemed that all the students had finally found their way into the classroom. Ms. Winters gave a brief scan over the Charlie's assignment, and to any who were paying attention, they'd note a raised eyebrow on her part.
It looked like she may have to speak with the pink haired boil after class.
She then surveyed the rest of the class. There were a few faces she'd been almost certain would not return, and of course, the new students who had signed up after the unfortunate incident that was Aymet's ghost dog.
"Good afternoon, students." Winter spoke up suddenly, calling for the classes attention.
"It is lovely to see you all once more, today, and I appreciate everyone turning in their homework." She made a broad gesture towards the table, and a leather-bound textbook floated in front of each student.
(only... imagine the script looking like someone who can actually write)
"This textbook will serve you for the remainder of the class, with basic cultural information. It briefly touches on some history of more well known traditions, as well as some you may not be familiar with. However, that will be left for the second half of today, so if you would all place the books to your sides for now." Winter waited a moment as the books disappeared from sight.
"Now, while I'm not entirely certain you all were familiar with what exactly occurs in a finishing course, allow me to briefly summarize. This course will walk you through the finer things in life, some of these things, you will consider mundane and dull, others you will be quite familiar with. Please be considerate, though, as not everyone shares this particular disposition. Refreshers, for those of you familiar with the starting basics, should never be something to scoff at. I intend to forsee you all move along at roughly the same level, which means starting with the simple things, and then moving onto the challenging aspects. If any of you have concerns with this, feel free to speak with me after class." with her statement ending, the little pygmy fox who'd been sitting on her lap, hopped down, and trotted out, while Winter stood.
"Now, to get started for today, we will be going over dining etiquette. I understand that not all of you require to sustain yourself through these means, but while in polite company, it is in ones best interest to know the difference between a salad fork and a seafood fork, to avoid any potential mockery that can occur from such a folly." she realized most students would find the idea of being mocked for selecting the wrong fork as nothing short of ludicrous...but any who would enter any sort of business, politics, or general refined associations, would quickly learn just how biting the commentary the wealthy and privileged could be.
"I'm going to pair you off now, and leave you with a simple task. If you look to the dance hall, you will find all the pieces you require, to create a dinner place setting at this table. The reason for the partner is to give those of you unfamiliar, some assistance in setting things to order, as well as the ability to bounce different ideas off one another, if you are unsure."
Ms. Winter's called out the pairs, and let the students to their task.
Luck seemed to favour Riley that day as well, as her professor appeared to ignore the note giving and random Kelpie to clevage ratio that was occurring in the class.
It was more than likely she'd already heard Red complaining about the never ending slew of students in detention these days, and did not want to hear more.

Ren was, to say the least, more than a little unenthused about the prospect of having to set the dining table. It was not that he did not know how; on the contrary, he had grown up in a very elite, elegant household with parents who had practically forced the etiquette of dining down his throat. No, it was merely the idea of having to actually use the knowledge he'd been so opposed to his entire life; basically a "Hey look, you taught me well" to the two people whom he did not particularly want to give the satisfaction of seeing that their son had actually maintained something they had told him.
Eying the table settings with an unhappy frown, Ren sighed, running a hand through his hair. Well, he thought, glancing over at Holly. Might as well make it into something to look at it.
Reaching up, Ren pulled his hair back, tying it into a loose knot at the base of his neck. He pushed up his sleeves and then marched towards his and Holly's table.
"Hand me the whatever and we can both set everything down," he said lightly, flashing her a brief grin and held out his hand. "Don't worry, I'll help you."
"The dinner plate should always be set two inches away from the edge of the table," Ren said briskly, slipping a plate to Holly to set down. "That's not too far, not too close, and it gives everyone a nice place to eat their food. Their bread and salad plates go to the left for easy access," he added, handing two more plates to Holly, indicating with a nod where they should be laid. "They're smaller than the dinner plate, since, well, salads are technically supposed to be smaller than your actual meal. Shame, really, since they normally taste better.
"Now this, Ren said dramatically, brandishing a silver utensil. " - is the elusive seafood fork. Aka, the only fork that doesn't go with the rest of the forks. Instead it goes on the right side, after the knives and the spoons." He set it down on the table, aligning each tine perfectly with the ones parallel to it. Brushing his hands together, he carefully selected the three goblets, passing them gently to Holly.
"Your water glass should be the largest and the one closest to you, on the right," Ren instructed, gesturing to the table. "Next to that should be your red wine glass, then the white wine glass, going from biggest to smallest, since, theoretically, wine is supposed to be consumed in moderation and therefore should be smaller and farther away than the water." He cast a quick wink at Holly. "Although not everyone thinks that way."
After a few moments and a bit more explaining, Ren stepped back from the table, hands on his hips as he surveyed the place setting.

They had somehow ended up with an extra spoon. Ren frowned. Then shrugged. Oh, well.
"And that," he said to Holly, dipping in an extravagant, overly dramatic mock bow. " - is how you set a table properly.
...at least I think it is. Anything to add, Miss Fox?"

When the teacher spoke up, Jericho shifted his attention over towards her. Thankfully it seemed she was either oblivious to the drama earlier or simply decided to wave it off. As the books came floating down, he looked it over for the moment while listening to what the plan for the day was. It certainly didn't get him all that excited. He was a dragon! They didn't need to know the proper layout of a table. Most of the time in true form he wouldn't even use a table in the first place!
Letting out a huff at the thought, the whole idea of table politics was just off-putting.
When the pairs were called out, he took a moment to look for this Colette girl he was to work with. He hadn't met her before so he wasn't completely certain who it was. Making a wild guess, he walked up to the Reaper girl and asked, "You Colette? Well I'm Jericho. Let's get this damn assignment over with."

Ms. Winter had called for attention, and Colette was thankful. It took her out of the awkward offer she had made Barth and would hopefully keep it at bay. You couldn't turn back time, or she couldn't anyway, but this was probably the next best thing and Colette made sure to pay attention. But, oh, a text book.. She wasn't against reading it, learning more about her own culture was actually interesting, but Colette hoped she didn't have to carry it. For now, though, she happily placed it to the side and continued to listen to Ms. Winter.
Dining etiquette.. she had no clue about dining etiquette, so Colette was nothing more than relieved when she heard she'd have a partner. Hopefully they know how to do this...
Upon hearing her partner's name, Colette looked around hopelessly. She had never met someone with that name before. Her best solution was to just stand there, and whoever didn't have their partner when everyone was paired up obviously had to be him.. or her; but, thankfully, Jericho took the initiative and actually found her.
"Yes, Hello - Uh. Okay," she said. Colette took in that he didn't sound very happy and decided it was better to just follow along with what he wanted. "Do you want to set the table?.. Or I could if you don't want to. I mean, I'm fine with whatever." Intimidated? Yes, that would be a good word to describe her right about now.

Nodding to the Reaper, Jericho was glad that he had it right on his first try. It would have been rather awkward if he ended up picking the wrong girl. Or worse yet... if somehow 'Colette' was the name that belonged to a guy. That'd be really awkward. "Yeah sure," He said in regards to setting the table. How hard could this possibly be? Though, when he looked at the full list of objects that needed to be placed, he had second thoughts on the ease there. The dragon knew the basic layout of things but half of these things he had never even used! At least he didn't think he did. Why were there so many different forks? Only one was really needed in his opinion. Letting out a huff, he started to get to work as Colette passed each thing to him. He started with the easier things that he was pretty certain of where they needed to be. The rest.. he just went with whatever felt best. Except for the desert fork; he had no clue where to put that so he placed it on the side in a random spot. In general, he tried not to think too hard here. He didn't care too much on how accurate he was. "Does that look right?" he asked his partner.

Thank Jack, he was fine with placing everything! All she had to do was hand him stuff - this should work out dandy.
The number of items they were required to place was quite intimidating. She stared at the different utensils, surprised someone would even use so many different things. How did anyone even fit all of this on a table where you sat with others?
While holding out requested items to Jericho at a decent pace, the Reaper realized that more items also meant more chances to fail, and she bit her lip anxiously. She knew not having a clue of where to place most of these items didn't really help their situation either and, if he even needed it, she wouldn't be any help. He seemed to be doing fine though, and Colette figured he knew what he was doing.
However, when they finished, his question alarmed her. "Uh.. yes?" she awkwardly answered. Colette didn't know where half of the things went herself, so she wasn't about to question the boil who didn't seem awfully giddy in the first place. "It looks right.." From her experience with these things, anyway.

Barth looked down the table. They were only a few unfamiliar faces. He was pretty sure Obsidian hadn't been in Krumm Car.
...He took a wild etymological guess and targeted the pitch-black shadowy student as them. Not too far down the table from him. A good start.
"I'm Bartholomew. Barth. Pleasure to meet you. You err, any good at this kind of thing?"

Siddie smiled at Barth, vaguely pleased that he'd recognized her. He'd been the one who'd caught the invisible dog last session, hadn't he? He looked to be a demon, but he was being polite; so far, so good. "I'm Obsidian," she answered, "but please call me Siddie. A pleasure to meet you too. Um - maybe? I think I recognize the utensils, at least." She twined a loose strand of her hair around her finger thoughtfully. "Usually the servants do the place settings."
