Not that I know, but if you think about it, they're really not all that bad of a name when they are spelled backwards.

Best: Abel and Kain FE 1 and 11 (don't like them in 3 because dismounting sucks and Abel is a late Jeigan in book 2/12)- for one, I really do enjoy Abel and the scandals around him with Paola and Est, but two, statistic wise, besides Hardin who joins later and Machis who is good if you like DEF dependent Socials, they're the only two Socials worth using unless you really want to use Biraku (I don't blame you, he has some pretty awesome OA) or Roshe.
Worst: Alec and Noishe (FE4)

I agree with Rath, but partly because I don't use cavaliers or paladins as much as the game probably expects you to (what with all the units you get on horseback).

Tomth, Michelan? Saji, Maji (in the anime, Saji was portrayed in a green muscle shirt while Maji was in yellow)? Paola, Est? Oguma (close enough, blue xD), Navarre? Wendy, Barth?
Edit: OTHLIN AND HAVAN? (changing my vote to them)
Point is: there's more than just mounted green and red units, you just gotta look between the lines. ;D

Wait, those count? I thought it was just like Alan and Lance or Sain and Kent horseback pairs...

I've edited my first post to show what my definition of a redXgreen pair is. I'm not sure if that's what Mel has in mind however, so you may not want to listen to my words.

Best: FE6's Alan/Lance.
They're not the strongest in the series, by any means, either, but I still vote for them for best. You know why? Because when considering how good each red/green pairing is in their respective games, contrasted with other units, Alan/Lance are ******** amazing. They're both God Tier in FE6, after all - and that's something that can't be said for both members of any other red/green pairing (Oscar is God Tier material thanks to his affinity and availability, but Kieran doesn't quite measure up). Alan/Lance are two of the most reliable units you can possibly use in FE6, comparable to the divine trinity that is Dieck/Rutger/Clarine. They get perfect availability, horse utility, complete weapon triangle control, and can make an insanely quick and insanely valuable support triangle with their game's Lord (which is WAY more usable than Roy/Lilina, just to throw that out there) which completely pumps their offenses from the early game onwards when most units are just trying to develop enough to hold their own (the boosts to Roy go a long way in making him suck less, too). Various red/green pairs can claim some of those points, but only Alan/Lance can claim all of them. I never go a playthrough without using them both.
Kent/Sain and Oscar/Kieran (more in FE9 than 10) are also both really good red/green pairs. Mounted class own face in FE9, and Oscar can become untouchable with Ike/Tanith support (Kieran is really good in his own right as well, although not immortal the way Oscar is), while Kent/Sain are both quite great units as well (access to an all mounted support triangle with Fiora is a plus, even if that triangle isn't super amazing or anything). But looking at their games as a whole, their value doesn't compare with that of Alan/Lance's in FE6.
Worst: FE4's Alec/Noish.
I'll grant that Alec has the utility of stalling Ayra while you're trying to recruit without running any risk of dying, and that Noish can make for a pretty good pairing with Ayra (although it totally complicates getting her the Hero Sword and getting your desired pairings, and there isn't really any compelling reason to pair her with him over Lex or Holyn, so the point is moot to some level). But in a game where you need all your units to be really fierce, neither of them are cutting it, despite having their mounts. Their value diminishes really quickly, and they don't have good enough growths for it to even be worth trying to keep them up with everyone else in terms of leveling.
Alva and Kein are also pretty terrible, but at least they have good growths. Kain/Abel and Forde/Kyle are both alright pairs, and certainly usable, but they're nothing to write home about, IMO.
@Maji: I'm pretty sure she means the cavalier pairs in the game since she said red/green. Othin/Halvan aren't even red/green, even though their personalities might seem to fit the dichotomy. The red/green cavalier duo is an FE trope. And while there are plenty of other duos in the games, it's pretty clear the trope happens to be class specific. But I could be wrong. We'll have to wait for Mel to respond.

But FE5 doesn't have a mounted red/green pair (that join right off the bat) and Othlin and Havan (Othlin being green for his lower growths, but better skills and Havan being red for his raw strength) are essentially the red/green of the game. However, I know they aren't red/green, so we'll just Mel decide on this. I'll change it back to my original if she agrees.
Example of how archetypes work (again, in my opinion, Mel's words are final): Think of the Jeigan, usually a Pally with a Silver Spear. However, there has been some alterations throughout the series (Evayle in all ways, Titania by being a woman and a mounted AXE user without silver weapons, Dagda [could be interpretted as well simply due to availability], etc)

Hmm...yeah, okay, i'll vote.
Best: Alan and Lance. All things considered, they do the job well the rare times I use them.
Worst: Kyle and Forde.
