Nuk barked out a laugh at Riley's response, pleased with the answer he received. It was weird, but he was thinking he was starting to actually like some of the other students, although he kept this to himself. "I dunno, but I can tell you how many tentacles the Plague Doctor was holding up," he teased back, his tone a tad bit lighter than usual. Perhaps he didn't really want to upset Riley? As if he could -- he made no boasts on that front, knowing quite well it wasn't possible. Not when she had so clearly frustrated Braum, which made her win in his book.

Straightening up again, the skinwalker rolled his shoulders a bit with a wince, feeling his bones pop as they realigned themselves, none of them feeling right in this weird hybrid-fail body. He only hoped they'd rearrange themselves in the right way eventually... if not, he might actually have to go see Cricket when they got back. Which was a scary thought. Still, he brushed it off easily, instead taking a few moments to survey the area with what seemed to be great interest. His entire demeanor was focused on anything but anyone around him, including the Pricolici who had changed back into her human form. In fact, he was practically ignoring her... almost like...

Moving faster than probably anyone expected the somewhat-lazy bloodball player to move, Nuk grabbed Shehk's chin with his normal hand, keeping her still as he leaned in to press his lips hard against hers, pulling back a few seconds later with a triumphant smirk.

"HA."

Iolanthe nodded as she mulled over Braum's words. Possibly worse enemies with more visibility or possibly worse enemies in the forest. She brought one finger up to let a tendril of her hair curl around it in thought, her head cocked slightly to the side as she considered all the options.

She was drawn out of her thoughts when Livi said her name. She looked up at him, then glanced back to Braum, then back again. "North. I'd like to be able to see what's attacking me at least, even if it means risking something worse than.. drunk talking trees." She threw a glance over her shoulder at that, as if she expected one of the prickly things to come flailing out at any moment.

She dropped the hand she was letting her hair toy with and crossed her arms over her chest again. She glanced towards West when Livi called to him, waiting expectantly for an answer. Then again, she wasn't sure Braum was the type that cared much for a majority vote once he'd made up his mind.

Malodore stopped walking at Riley's mental touch. Its embarrassment was slowly fading, leaving only a vague stomach-twisting horror behind. You are a very nice person, Riley - I am sorry to have accidentally taken advantage of you, it thought, just in case she could hear. The thought was laden with overtones of emotion - more embarrassment, awkward discomfort, and genuine remorse. It had stumbled into something that was best saved for... well... certainly not for a snowfield whilst drunk!

Aksaja had been listening to everyone's 'votes' when some of what was going on with Riley and the group back there caught his attention. Turning around, the dragon caught the end of Israfel feeling Riley up and frowned slightly. Okay really. Not that he particularly cared but they weren't going to get anywhere with that going on.

Stalking over, the dragon took hold of Israfel from behind and attempted to pull him off Riley. "C'mon, cider-boy we need to get moving, so stop groping people already," he muttered.

Flailing? Well, that was a word for it. When Iolanthe looked behind her, a friendly tree waved vigorously back. "HIIIIIII!"

"You've got to be kidding," Iolanthe groaned as she saw the happy tree hopping out behind her. She should have spent less time talking about where to go and more time looking at where they were. When had all the scouts stopped scouting?

She pulled the bookbag off of her shoulders quickly and opened it up, dragging out that bag with the oddly assorted trinkets inside. She grabbed a handful and, rearing back with all her might, chunked them at the bristled fiend. Unfortunately.. every one of the little toys missed and Iolanthe stood there looking like a dope. "I should have picked that jack damn gun."

She stuffed the bag back in her pack, staring down the new arrival with as much distaste as she could muster. Maybe she could just scare it back into the woods?

Much to her horror, Iolanthe let out a small screech as the tree spread out its limbs and tried to "hug" her. Only as those limbs tried to deliver what should have been a harmless snuggle, they brushed against her face and gave her a rather unfriendly set of scratches across one cheek. She managed to wriggle free of the evergreen bully, though she didn't have time to reach for that bag again - or any real wish to try and waste more ammo on it since she was apparently an awful shot.

Instead she sneered up at its face, pulled back her booted foot, and kicked the jack damned thing as hard as she could in the trunk. "Get away from me, you big prickly jerk!"

Riley was glad she was getting some of her mind back - because she just barely heard Malodore's words filtering into her head. They were foggy, and it kind of hurt to try and listen to them, but she heard them nonetheless. And she realized, with further embarrassment, that her intoxication has truly led her to jump to conclusions that had made the entire incident far more ludicrous than they could have been. She felt guilty that Malodore now thought .. well, that. She slapped her forehead with one hand, blatantly ignoring the snuggling boil at her chest. What was the one thing she'd set out to do from the moment she met Malodore? No harm, no foul. No scaring him off, or making him uncomfortable. And somehow, in the space of a day, she was pretty sure she'd managed to do just that.

And he had even thought she was a nice person, too.

She hugged Israfel, much like one would hug a favorite scarebear, and contemplated just how well she'd ruined everything. Even when Israfel was ripped from her hands, she just kind of sat there for a while, and thought about what a wicked, terrible temptress cider was. Never again. Never. Again.

The tree let out a high-pitched squeak as it was booted in the trunk, bending over to try and clutch at itself. Except trunks don't bend that well, so it merely tipped over backwards. At least before it fell a shiny box fell out of its branches to land at Iolanthe's feet!

Once Malodore judged itself to be an appropriate distance away from the others, it flicked out its tent; it sprang into place where it was thrown, sending out a warm, inviting aura at once. Snapping its long fingers for Luce, the plague doctor crawled inside.

Though it didn't strictly need sleep, it was looking forward to it now. Then it wouldn't have to be mortified... at least for a few hours.

Iolanthe blew out a long breath, then brought a hand up to touch her stinging face. When she pulled her fingers away there was a small smear of blood, but she definitely wasn't going to be bleeding to death any time soon. Regardless, she frowned at the sight, knowing that in addition to the goose egg on her forehead from the crash, her face was now marred with at least one scrape. There had better be great loot at the end of this trip if they were risking her pretty face so much.

Once she was done examining her face as best she could, she glanced down at the present that had dropped from the tree. It's importance came after her poor face, but seeing as she couldn't do a jack damn thing about that right now she simply leaned down and scooped it up. She had no idea what it was, or what was inside it, but she stuffed it in her bag all the same before she zipped it up and looped it over her shoulders again.

"Now what were you guys saying?" she mumbled as she turned back to her group, looking a little worse for wear than she had before, but still capable of whatever they were planning. Idly, one long, thick hair brushed softly against the scrape on her face - maybe trying to wipe away any bit of blood, or simply holding it in that way most people did when injured.

Then, all at once the throbbing pain from earlier came rushing back, probably brought on by that awful fight. She grimaced, instantly reaching up to lay a delicate hand against the knot on her forehead. It looked like she'd be taking another nap!

"Nevermind," she waved a hand at them, her eyes squinting shut, "I'm going to take a small nap I think." Then she simply moved a little farther away, pulled out her tent, and crawled inside once she had it set up. She hoped they didn't abandon her before she woke back up, or get too far ahead at least.

((Tent time.))

He gasped as he saw it. It was magical, breathtaking and all he'd wished to see since the rumors had begun. "skullface akshuns." He cried a single tear of joy. "I new et wuz tru wuv." But before Israfel could return to his snuggling into Riley, he was torn away from her bosom. He made a small pitiful noise.
"But-but-"
Then the siren started to cry.

"BOOBIES!"

Aksaja rolled his eyes slightly and then shook Israfel a bit. Geez, now why did everyone seem so depressed all of a sudden? "Stop that... d'you want to get out of this place or what?" he asked, including both the Siren and Mindflayer in the question, just... because. Had he realized Riley actually wanted to be hugging Israfel, he might not have interfered but he hadn't ...

Spinning the Siren around, the dragon attempted to meet his gaze. "What's your deal? We don't have time for groping right now. D'you want your cider fairy to get beat up or be sad? C'mon." Then he released the other and watched for a minute to make sure things were going to calm down here.
