The main team, after scouting the halls to minimal resistance, would find a sealed door into Ring 2, The Upper Biological Research Labs, an identification card would be required to pass, one with level 5 security clearance. The group they had just faced was regular infantry, and we'll skip the rest of the fighting and just say that the Yaits Infantry had gotten their asses kicked.

~~~~
As for group two, they would find themselves in pharmacuetical research. Midway between Ring 1 and Ring 3. The hall up ahead would be halt and take a turn to the right, through a series of labs were drug testing was done. The infantry group, which had not managed to stop their breakout from the vents, was retreating backwards along the halls. They knew the terrain better, and kept appearing in the labs ahead to harrass team bravo with supresive fire before leaving and turning up in another lab.
((You are by no means gnats, the plot development here is crucial, and I need to spend more time on it, if only I had three more arms. sweatdrop ))
Ether Shield: 80%
Another barrage of missiles exploding. Another cloud of smoke. Omega still remained. How many missiles were left? Omega thrust out it's hand and sent the giant ball of crimson energy shooting down at the Pentagon like a falling star. The energy ball had the destructive power of a five-hundred-pound bomb. At most, it'd likely destroy an entire section of the Pentagon, if not a majority of it's armor.
Evan sighed and pointed towards the door, three people on either side of the barricade that barred their way.
"Eri- if you would take care of this door, I'd appreciate it..."
Which was getting annoying. So one of them tossed a single flashbang out into the next room without looking. Meanwhile, the Lieutenant counted slowly from three to one before activating the sonic emitter on just seconds after the grenade went off.
Double-distraction. they'd be wiped out in a clean shot while the team still had their ear plugs on. And those who were not stunned by the tactic would soon find themselves with a bullet through their heads.
Ether Shield: 80%
Another barrage of missiles exploding. Another cloud of smoke. Omega still remained. How many missiles were left? Omega thrust out it's hand and sent the giant ball of crimson energy shooting down at the Pentagon like a falling star. The energy ball had the destructive power of a one-kiloton nuclear bomb, minus the radiation. At most, it'd likely destroy an entire section of the Pentagon, if not a majority of it's armor.
HQ Pentagon Outer Walls
The outer wall of the structure is four meters thick, with three layes of protection built into it. The first layer underneith the cement is rust-proofed steel coated with titanium and laced with depleted uranium, the second is refined adamantine, and the the third is orichalum. The outer walls of the building are built to survive even a massive nuclear assault.
Once again, a hundred Nibelheim intercepter missiles would activate to lessen the effect of the blast. They wouldn't be a significant help, as they weren't designed to stop attacks of that magnitude. Three missile launchers would be blown away, turned to scrap metal. The entire top structure shook as if it had been hit by a 6 magnitude earthquake. The attack would leave a nasty crater in the top of the structure, cement crumbling away to reveal the first level of defense, a twenty-five centimer layer of refined steel layered with a mixture of titanium and depleted uranium. There seemed to be some sort of energy feild running through the metal, adding additional reinforcement.
The remaining 600 Svendari missiles in the city, fired on the Omega from all directions once again. Followed up by an attack from a full formation of 15 Mig29's as they passed overhead, each plane releasing it's entire arsenal of four air to air missiles as soon as they were in range and attempting to streak by at full speed (About Mach 2) to survive, breaking formation to increase surviveability.
Eri had the intelligence of a small stupid dog. But she had obedience, and control.
"Yessir." She rumbled, proceeding to step forward. A hand would clobber the access card panel, Her nigh boneless Infantryman discarded against a wall with a wet pop and spray of blood. How civilized. She'd promptly step a few feet back, curling her hands to a pray-position, and humming a chant. Her hands began to glow, beneath beady eyes, With would then spread, palms up, fingers together... And she'd raise a wall of fire, in, and mildly infront of the Door. The thing would superheat, softening for her fists...
Quote:
Wall of Fire
Evocation [Fire]
Level: Drd 5, Fire 4, Sor/Wiz 4
Components: V, S, M/DF
Casting Time: 1 standard action
Range: Medium (100 ft. + 10 ft./level)
Effect: Opaque sheet of flame up to 20 ft. long/level or a ring of fire with a radius of up to 5 ft. per two levels; either form 20 ft. high
Duration: Concentration + 1 round/level
Saving Throw: None
Spell Resistance: Yes
An immobile, blazing curtain of shimmering violet fire springs into existence. One side of the wall, selected by you, sends forth waves of heat, dealing 2d4 points of fire damage to creatures within 10 feet and 1d4 points of fire damage to those past 10 feet but within 20 feet. The wall deals this damage when it appears and on your turn each round to all creatures in the area. In addition, the wall deals 2d6 points of fire damage +1 point of fire damage per caster level (maximum +20) to any creature passing through it. The wall deals double damage to undead creatures.
If you evoke the wall so that it appears where creatures are, each creature takes damage as if passing through the wall. If any 5-foot length of wall takes 20 points of cold damage or more in 1 round, that length goes out. (Do not divide cold damage by 4, as normal for objects.)
She'd promptly begin laying into the metal, softened like dough, as she herself remained unscathed by the fire, but rather, benefitting from it, as bullets and burns from the Phosph would be healed with her contact with the fire.
((Hugin, Stranger, Go ahead and auto-kill your way through until you reach the barricade surroundings every entrance into ring three. Destroy some stuff, find a few dead chimera's, destroy a bunc of turrets and regular infantry, and watch out for trip wire. The real fight doesn't even begin until you approach Ring three.))
The main team had a fairly straight path to the Third Ring, with the attack outside, the turrets were all acting on auto mode with no tactics, as the tech men had other problems. The regular infantry and security would be in the way though, had nothing better to do. And those damn security hatches, each one thicker than the last and requiring higher degrees of access.
The secondary team would have a long haul through turrets and sandbagged hallways, other than that, there would be no real surprises.
Ineffective, mostly. Not too surprising. At least one layer of the defense had been blown away. Detecting incoming targets, Omega shot up into the air. A section of it's armguards opened at the wrists and energy blades came out of them. Omega went at maximum speed - mach five - toward the formation, missiles fom the batteries exploding in it's trail as Omega swiped a wristblade at one jet as it passed by, then made a sharp ninety-degree bank to pursue and swipe at another one. Whirling around, it unleashed another barrage of energy missiles at six more jets, while it's shields absorbed damage from their missiles, dropping to 78%.
It was far from finished, however. Omega flashed across the sky to slice down another jet, then grab for another. If it successfully grabbed the jet, it would hurl it down toward the Pentagon, following fast on it's heels to bury one of it's energy blades into the weakened portion of it's defenses.
Both teams plowed their way through, unrelenting in their assault. Or at least, what seemed like one. Shots fired, teams blown through, defenses penetrated. R.I.O.T. moved through like a buzz saw, cutting through one obstacle after another.
The trip wires were easy enough to avoid, even without the EMP. They continued moving along, steadily pressing towards their objectives with all speed. So far, everything was going according to plan...
(What, no half-disected aliens and UFOs?)
Eri charged the forefront, and meatshield to the highest caliber. As they approached the door, she didn't even hesitate, drawing another spell from her mother-element, Glowing hands slinging....
Quote:
Meteor Swarm
Evocation [Fire]
Level: Sor/Wiz 9
Components: V, S
Casting Time: 1 standard action
Range: Long (400 ft. + 40 ft./level)
Area: Four 40-ft.-radius spreads; see text
Duration: Instantaneous
Saving Throw: None or Reflex half; see text
Spell Resistance: Yes
Meteor swarm is a very powerful and spectacular spell that is similar to fireball in many aspects. When you cast it, four 2-foot-diameter spheres spring from your outstretched hand and streak in straight lines to the spots you select. The meteor spheres leave a fiery trail of sparks.
If you aim a sphere at a specific creature, you may make a ranged touch attack to strike the target with the meteor. Any creature struck by one of these spheres takes 2d6 points of bludgeoning damage (no save) and receives no saving throw against the sphere’s fire damage (see below). If a targeted sphere misses its target, it simply explodes at the nearest corner of the target’s space. You may aim more than one meteor at the same target.
Once a sphere reaches its destination, it explodes in a 40-foot-radius spread, dealing 6d6 points of fire damage to each creature in the area. If a creature is within the area of more than one sphere, it must save separately against each. (Fire resistance applies to each sphere’s damage individually.)
Into the door. If it didn't destroy it first go, She'd prepare a second on the heels of the first. Needless to say, she'd take the doors down before they even had to pause.
While the Omega was occupied with the jets, a stubby 500mm cannon, BIG MOMMA emblazoned on both sides, rose from a hatch at the center of the pentagon, turning quickly toward its target. It looked like a massive empty bowl fed by wires and tubes which reeached into the protected cannon feed under cover of the massive fortress wall. It fired a massive beam of charged particles directly upon the center Omega weapon. The massive and sustained burst of charged particles could be kept active for a maximum limit of two minutes. The force of the blast hitting the weapon was likely to move the mobile suit back, violently as well. It only needed a little more than thirty seconds to eat the ether sheild for breakfast, and if it succeded in totally draining the sheild, it would disintigrate through the armor in a couple seconds max.
General Bakkar wringed his fingers at the one remaining video feed. Watching weapon in hopes Big Momma would come through. Throughout the pentagon it would go dark, the sentry guns would cease working, and all secured doors would remained locked. all available power feeding BIG MOMMA. As long as they didn't get too close to the maximum limit, they could, in theory, stop the gun at any time, sheild it, and bring it down for recharging. If it came through, one minute and it would be stopped regardless, the General didn't want to overplay his had, and exhaust what might be his best weapon.
The people in the control room shook, hoping against hope.
Then everything went full blackout as they were mid-way to section three, the ceiling above them rumbled like never before, ceiling fixtures broke loose and came crashing through the hall. Glass instruments crashed to the floor. Chaos broke out among the regulars they were facing, they were shooting at anything that moved, breathed, or made a sound. This was happening in both Bravo and Alpha forces AOP. There weren't even red emergency lights, all available power for all of Ymiristan funneled into the 500mm Charged Particle cannon known as BIG MOMMA.
Omega was thrown back by the force of the beam, taking a big chunk of it's shield along with it. It would ride back against the beam's push for a moment, before warning alarms would begin going off as the Ether Shield began reaching critical low levels, dipping below 20%. With a boost from it's engines, Omega broke away from the massive beam's push, banking around swiftly to come around to the cannon's side, flanking it. Omega would come down upon Big Momma, straddling it, planting it's feet on the roof of the building, wrapping one arm around the huge bowl-like barrel and pulling up, while the other arm would be cutting away at the wires and supports for it, trying to rip it out of the hatch it came out of and possibly - finally - gain forced entry into the building.
By now, Iskugawa, broading silently to himself in his office, mulling the security tapes over in his mind, had figured out who had infiltrated the HQ.
"Evan White, yes, I see it now, the only thing you could possibly be here for is the girl. Do you wish to take Ymirs power for yourself? Or do you wish to destroy him. No, we musn't let that happen now."
He pressed the intercom to the prisons five levels below sector D of ring 3.
"I want you to release prisoner number 1287, she is to be taken to floor one, Section A Biological Research labs immediatly if not sooner, to help deal with the intruders of course. Get it done now!"
Iskugawa would get the call, the package having been delivered.
"Let's see how you deal with this little shock, Mr. White. The boss worked so hard on this one, twould be a shame to see his effort go to waste."
Then the lights went out for the charging cannon, the doctor laughed, cackling with an insanely twisted glee.
To a series of closed hatches as thick as the buildings main armor and fully protected by a strong energy feild. The pentagon would regain only emergency lighting as the beastly cannon began its charging cycle all over again, it would take a half an hour of charging and fine tuning before the cannon proto-type was even ready for another round.
There would be no cheers in the control room as auxilary power came back online, only muffled cursing. General Bakkar slumped over the panel, sweat beading over his forehead, despair setting in, the thing had taken a direct hit from one of the best damn weapons they had and it didn't even suffer a scratch.
"Its okay sir," a young woman at the controls said, smiling,"The cannon will be ready in a half hour, we'll try it again. For, Ymiristan!"
"I'm glad somebody is optimistic," Bakkar said, "Fine, 25% power to the armor sheilds, 75% to the cannon then. We'll give it another go if the defenses hold out."
