Psh. I will not call the Ghostbusters. mad I happen to like our ghost, thank you very much.
Besides, if I ever wanted to get rid of a ghost, I could do it myself. It's rather easy.

Again. ninja I said "no need" to call them XD (I totally watched Ghostbusters I and II last week though dramallama ) Don't worry...I'm totally not gonna act in character...unless we get clues that actually point to the paranormal XD.... though while at school today I had a random thought: what if it was the chupcabara...it could have completely drained Fortune of all blood without leaving any traces of it /shot *drat, my attempt to not blame the paranormal has been thwarted...and this just started XD* *drat...I just had a random urge to switch my avi back to a girl and dress as Velma XD /as I typed that...I thought "omg I should dress as Freddie so I can just randomly say stuff is wrong and accuse Red Herring of being the criminal."

Tasn Zheng epic-writer42 Tasn Zheng Supposedly he is our professional detective. What are we paying him? Good question. I think we should ask whoever hired him. How do we know that somebody did? This cop, coming out of nowhere to help the crime! Yet he fails to do so. How are we sure he is not the culprit? Everyone in this guild is a suspect and unless I'm proven wrong, he is a member of the guild!

Yay for lateness! Anyway, after reading 23 pages, I think both clues could possibly go together rather than contradict, as odd as it sound.
/long post aheadMav--Alex's clue She tried to struggle and tried to scream But nothing could halt it's evil scheme She knew he was coming, she tried to hide But she couldn't stop it as hard as she tried It hit her and hit her over and over again It knew it had to act out it's revenge. Myrielle's clue She didn't see, didn't breath, didn't blink an eye. She couldn't let out a single scream or sigh. It took her by surprise, one moment dead, another alive
Fortune knew someone was coming for her and tried to hide. However, the form of the attack was what had surprised her. Supposing she hid inside, underneath, behind something (inside a cabinet, underneath her desk, behind curtains), the killer had let loose a creature of some kind in a crack or hole at the top of her hiding place. Something kind of small like a spider, scorpion, or snake with a paralyzing venom. The creature crawled/slithered near/to her neck. This surprised Fortune with an unexpected means of attack so she started to struggle against it by trying to get it off quickly. She'd hardly even begun to struggle since her struggling was what began its attack on her neck. Line from Mav's clue It knew it had to act out it's revenge
That could be the creature, after having been alarmed by Fortune's movements, "It hit her and hit her over and over again" in the neck in an attempt to get revenge from her "attacking" the creature. It was more of a defensive attack because if it didn't "act out its revenge", it might have been killed by Fortune.
The venom was probably fast acting, so her neck and vocal cords had become paralyzed before she had a chance to make a sound and the rest of her body would soon follow.
She's now unable to move, even to blink or breathe, and dies soon after. The venom could have made the marks on her neck, producing discoloration in the flesh underneath, as well as why her skin could have become pale resembling papers. Depending on the creature and venom, it could have left a hole small enough to not bleed or possibly have a clotting agent to prevent any loss in blood.
Now, in the Mule's report, she walked by Fortune's office seeing something on the ground thinking it could be papers. The door could have been closed if the door had a window on it, and if it was a translucent window, it could further the possibility of not truly knowing what was on the floor from the blurred view of the room. Passing the door a second time with everything looking the same way could cause some worry on whether everything was alright in the room which could cause the Mule to worry and to check on Fortune, open the door, and find her laying dead on the ground.
