It was nice, he thought, to have this little family here, eating together. Acia stuffinf her face with cake, Alli giggling and looking sourly at her milk. It had been a while since things had ben quite so domestic around here. He drunk most of his milk and heard a squealing noise from the kitchen. He got to his feet and came back a few moments later with a hot teapot which he held delicately using a thick towel and some teacups. He placed the teapot down onto the table, flicking the towel end underneath it so that it wouldn't burn the wood and poured himself some tea. He sat, sipping the warm liquid, feeling tranquil as dust motes flitted in through the large, open wall of the newly joined room.

Foenix and her crew entered the Centre. Kylara immediately pulled the bag strap from over her shoulder and abandoned it for a soft sofa. Not surprisingly, Sunspot and Nahda followed her example.

With a sigh, Foenix picked up the extra containers and went into the kitchen with Nehanda and Freya. There, she rummaged for plates and platters, and serving utensiles. Some of the cold snacks went into the refrigerator, while others were arranged prettily upon trays. Similarly, some things went into the oven to be warmed up.

All of these foods, which had been made using fruits, vegetables, and herbs from Nehanda's gardens, were things that would keep well if stored for a while in the fridge. Foenix knew that there was a chance no one would come by the Centre today, and hadn't wanted her efforts to go to waste.

"Well, I'd say that's about that." Carrying platters out into the main room, she placed them on the table in front of her, and made herself comfortable in a chair. She pulled out her knitting, and absently said to Nahda, "You're allowed one of everything, kiddo. If you stuff yourself, and eat it all before anyone else gets any, you'll be in trouble."

Nahda, who had been reaching out to grab a handful of bruschetta slices, drew back and sulked. Nehanda merped laughingly down at her.

Osero slipped the door to the centre open, padding inside. Ducking his spear, he took care not to smash the metal tip against the door frame. That could make a nasty gouge. Rustling his wings softly, he stepped forward again before pausing. There was a fair bit of noise coming from the main room - obviously there were several people there.

After a moment, he moved forward again, his steps quiet. It was something that almost came naturally to the tall Aerandir now - he was so used to being silent while out on the hunt.

Stopping at the entrance to the main room, he peered in, his golden eyes faintly questioning. He didn't recognise anyone in the room at all. There was a human there - he hadn't met her before, so she was a new guardian perhaps, or possibly a new archaeologist...? Ah, there was an Aerandir gryphon there too, so a guardian probably. A couple of strange creatures, one purple, one yellow. He'd never seen anything like that before. A tiny little creature that was also golden, and a little human with wings. How very strange. He really had been keeping to himself for too long.

Foenix looked up from her knitting when Nehanda gave a nervous merp and came to rest on her shoulder. Standing just inside the Centre door was a tall winged creature. He . . . could only be another Aerandir! As there was only one adult she had yet to meet, Foenix quickly decided taht this must be Osero.

"Hi," she greeted him cheerfully. "You're Osero, right? I'm Foenix, and this is Nehanda." She indicated the gryphon on her shoulder.

((I'm gonna run off and do some quick household chores, and then shower, but I'll be back in about an hour.))

For a moment, Osero appeared slightly taken aback. She knew who he was already? Then he smiled faintly, before speaking quietly.

"I see you know who I am already. Nice to meet you both."

Shifting his spear on his shoulder, he indicated the wrapped bag that he was carrying.

"Excuse me a moment. I need to drop off this fish."

He then turned to head into the kitchen and supply area. He had brought some fish fillets that he had smoked himself. They would keep longer that way. It took him a few moments to store away the food. When he was done, he came back through to the main room.

"..It's certainly busy in this room."

Foenix looked around at her kids and grinned. "I suppose so. I brought several of my kids along with me from the mainland, and I guess they can seem rather . . . overwhelming."

She nudged Nehanda with her cheek, and the little gryphon leaped cautiously form her guardian's shoulder. she approached the large Aerandir with a soft, inquisitive "merp."

"Just surprising." The smile remained on his face as he squatted down onto his heels, laying the longspear down beside him. For a moment, he studied the little gryphon. She was pretty big - long legged and long necked. He wondered briefly what her make-up was.

"Hello there." He didn't make a move towards the gryphon straight away, just in case he intimidated the little Aerandir. He didn't have any idea of what she was like, afterall.

Foenix put her knitting away and looked down at Nehanda. "it's okay, hun. His name is Osero." She looked back up at the Aerandir. "You're the only adult around here that I had yet to meet, so it was pretty easy to figure out who you were."

At her guardian's urging, Nehanda trotted forward a few steps and extended her neck with a soft merp. She briefly flapped her snow-white wings and flipped her tail. Osero? He must know Acia then!

Remembering her manners, Foenix gestured toward the plates on the table. "Are you hungry? Nehanda's gardens are doing pretty well, so we brought over some snacks for everyone."

(I'll post the same post in here, too)

Fae had been lounging around in her new hammock hanging across in her porch. She face the the community with Pueblo snoozing in her lap comfortably. It was day, afterall, and Pueblo felt more inclined to take naps during now. However, the air was warm, weather clement and Fae wore shorts with a white t-shirt casually. Ah...what a day to relax after a week of work.

Not completely asleep herself, though, her eye lids lifted half way to give an absent minded scan around the community. The normal people were walking about, and Osero...wait, Osero? She hadn't seen him for a long time, it seemed! Fae rose the hand that was rested on Pueblo's soft head to rub her own eyes and aroused herself awake.

Pueblo, being a light sleeper, instantly sat up to the disturbance. "Peep?" She blurted blindly, wondering what the heck was going on. Who disturbed her peace!? Noticing her keeper wanted out, she was almost inclined to stay there. But after awhile, the subtle wind blew by to fluff her feathers. Clambering about haphazardly on the swinging hammock, she manadged to leap down and walk over to the step. There, she laid down with her chin upon her paws, staring out at the fuzzy human blankly.

Fae finally stretched and took her glasses off to rub her face, then setting them back on, awake now, she started to head in the direcction of Osero. She hadn't seen him awhile and if he didn't mind, she didn't mind giving him a little visit. Watching him duck into the Centre, she followed him into it briskly.

Pueblo, noticing how blindly her keeper left her, whimpered and lowered her ears. She looked around, noticing her aloneness, then quickly dashed across the field. WHY did they have to live on the opposite end? Flying would be so much faster...and it proved to be right as her wing span unfolded and soared right into the Centre before the door closed.

The door opening and shutting startled Nehanda, and she jumped into the air with a startled "merp!" But the woman who came in was familiar . . . after all, how could she forget Fae? She craned her head to look for Pueble, and saw the wolf/owl flit in through the door just before it closed.

"Fae!" Foenix stood up as her friend walked in. "Good to see you. did you like that fan I brought back? I'm afraid Nahda and Nehanda made off with it before I could bring it over in a more . . . polite fashion."

Osero smiled down at the Aerandir gryphon before rising to his feet. "Well, that makes sense." His expression was slightly sheepish. In answer to her question, he said "Thank you, but I'm fine. I ate just before bringing over the fish."

With Nehanda's sudden jump, Osero snapped around to look in the direction of the door, an action seeming more reflexive than anything else. The human that entered was one that he knew; indeed the one who had given him the drawing. Fae. He smiled at the guardian.

"Hello to you."

Fae looked around for the adult Aerandir, but the voice of Foenix stole her attention and picked her out easily. She nodded in greeting, "Hey. Foenix! Yesss, It was very beautiful," she smiled. "It's alright- I almost didn't want to take it down," she slightly chuckled.

Ambiling closer, she saw Osero's camoflauge in the shadows. She smiled instantly, giving him a demure nod. "Ya-ta-hey, Osero," she grinned a bit. She had previously read Native American foklore for simple amusement, thus creating the name for her gryphon. It meant 'hey' or 'hello' in Navajo. She didn't know why she said it, but it seemed to jump from her mouth, quick to impress or something like that. "How've you two been?" She asked, looking between them. Her eyes een looked down to the jumpy Nehanda who broguht a smile to Fae's lips.

As Pueblo's tail just barely skirted through the door, it clicked behind her as so did her claws clicking against the smooth floor of the Centre. Giving a nervous shake, she jogged to her keepers side and jumped upon Fae's foot. Nuzzling her leg a bit, glad to know she wasnt left behind, she noticed Nehanda was in front of her. Giving a startled/excited trill, she walked up to her and wagged her tail, ears perked like a playful pup.

Osero watched the two gryphons for a moment, his expression seeming almost thoughtful for a moment. There were so many of the little Aerandir on the island now - the revival of their kind really was beginning to take off. He smiled warmly at the thought, before looking back to Fae again.

"I have been well, thank you, although seeing rather less of the sun these days. And yourself?"

((I need to run out to the grocery store, and then cook dinner, as i said in the main thread. I should be back in about an hour or 2.)

A buzzing from the kitchen made foenix jump, and she looked over her shoulder. "Oh! I completely forgot about the oven!" As she ran into the other room, she called over her shoulder, "I put some snacks in to warm up. Give me a git to finish putting these together!""
