If it is only getting worse, it might be better if you didn't buy 6th and just kept on playing 5th edition.

We´ll just have to wait and see how it´ll work,
I do hope thought that the rules for alliance is well thought or we´ll be expecting
oddities to happen in the game.
FNP rule for necrons?
S4 guardsmen?
Galgar, Grimnar and Hellbrech doing a 3 man show?
I´m morely interested in how alliance will work on Dark Angels because...
well.... they´re Dark Angels....... they had strickt rules for that.....

The old fluff is dead, nothing is no longer sacred or adhered to, submit to your new masters or die.
Allies are fun tho, all that whining and crying that a few rumours generate is fun, people screaming about how the game is forever ruined because of a few rumours.

Actually allies are great way to make army both more flexible and have its own fluff (e.g. Eldar/DE pirate coalition, Tau with IG Gue-vesa, GK with about anyone pressganged into fighting daemons, renegade marines serving as mercenaries to anyone who won't immediately turn them over to Inquisition, you get the picture... )
BUT, the problem is munchkins out there will salivate at the thought of min-maxing lists tailoring them to the end of maximum firepower and/or resilience. The munchkins are so desperate to win at all costs they will buy dozens of transports or whatever units happen to get too good for their points costs- and GW is just fine with that.

Or Culexus running alongside a chimera full packed of IG psykers (who cares they have worst headache of the millenium?) Or if Eldar get access to INQ, the fanfic pair: Vindicare and Farseer! (re-rolls FTW!)

Hey, in fifth edition Grey Knights were the only amy that could field a Culexus assassin and they are all psychers.
