Manguusu Byaggha Welcome aboard, Devon! biggrin smile Thanks! Nice avi, by the way. Thanks! It's been changing quite a bit these last few days, but it's almost always nun-related. It's been that way since Gaia gave me robes and the shaved head in an item update. xd

hello I'm: Annabel I am: 14 years old my height is: about 5' 6" my weight is: about 107lbs. and I'm not anorexic. I will prolly never speak to you again if you call me anorexic. people already call me that at school, and it is not true. my eye color is: dark chocolate/ almost black my hair is: the same color as my eyes and currently driving me crazy as I wait for it to grow long again I live in: boring NY state USA. I plan to move out of the country ASAP I am also: 50% Polish, 50% Czech Republican, 7% Cherokee Native, and various percentages of English, Scottish, and French I speak: English, and French (I'm still learning though) Why the heck I am here: Christianity, Judaism, Wicca, religious witchcraft, Stepping Stone Tradition, and too many others didn't work for me. I went religion shopping too. 3nodding Buddhism seems very flexible and not too incredibly involved. I believe in a lot of the principles, especially the reincarnation. I hope to learn lots here.
Here are some more things about me: I love the arts, whether it's drawing, knitting, writing- especially poetry, or music. I can play the piano, bells, xylophone, vibraphone, chimes, and marimba. as in, I play the mallet percussion. some of my favorite bands are owl city and blink182. I adore the water, being in it is magical. plants are wonderful. I love to eat pasta, pizza, rice, apples and berries, and chocolate. I play tennis and run track, but I have bad joints and tendonitis in my wrists, so it hurts me. I can be moody and sarcastic and a little odd.

You can call me Seraph if you like, I'm certainly open to nicknames. I'm twenty two, and am very new to the idea of Buddhism, but I am excited about it. I said before that I am most drawn to Mahayana Buddhism, mostly because it simply fits, I feel as if I was meant to follow that path.
My parents have spent their lives teaching me and my siblings things and ways without ever knowing what they were teaching. It just came naturally to them. I was familiar with every theory touched on in my first year sociology class because of my mother's wisdom, when she never even knew the theory that she was talking about. My father has instilled some very Buddhist values in me, such as modifying your wants. Though he'd laugh if I told him about it.
I am a wildly passionate person who is drawn to extremes, I can maintain measures that are out of the norm for many people much more easily than I can ever hold any kind of middle ground, for this reason I'm afraid that Buddhism might be a difficult path for me, but I think that it will be healthy and definitely the path that I should take to be who I want to be.
I live in British Columbia, Canada, and I would like to say that I spend most of my time writing, drawing and generally being introspective, but in reality I spend a fair bit of time online. I am a vegan and I attend University to pursue a degree in Dietetics.
Hello!

Hello, I am Tk.
There is too much in life to really explain in one box here, so I'll just say I found my path in a most unusual way and walk it as any should walk along a road. I love a good conversation so if you ever wish to know something or just talk about something seek me out I am always open and willing to listen.

Well, my name is James, and I'll be 20 in march. I live in Albuquerque New Mexico for the most part. I'm not buddhist. I study kabbalah and will be soon beggining classes to convert to judaism technically, but I believe that buddhism is very good for the soul. I have a couple points I disagree on, but overall it is an amazing philosophy in my opinion. biggrin

Hello my name is Kane, and i am 16. I was born into Buddhism from my family that originated from Laos. Most of my uncles and family friends served as monks. My family loves the philosophy and it incorporates thought out our lives. I'm young and very interested in hearing points of views from other peoples perspective on Buddhism. To understand Buddhism more and to to learn from other Buddhists.

Hello, my name is Skyler. I live in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I'm planning on going to Fort Lewis College and majoring in Anthropology, minoring in Creative writing. I like to read, write, draw, think, and play and listen to music.
I'm not sure when I first became interested in Buddhism, but the first Buddhist book I read was Hardcore Zen by Brad Warner. I bought it mainly because I had been interested in Zen and also am a fan of Hardcore Punk music. As of yet I have read no classical Buddhist texts besides the excerpts of Dogen and other texts in Brad's book and some koans. I do not consider myself a Buddhist and will possibly never actually got to any temples, but it is definitely the religion which has influenced my thoughts and opinions the most, the second of course being Taoism.

I'm 16, from Australia I've been to many youth groups (Christianity) but I never quite felt I believed. I heard that Buddhism was a philosophy and I decided to do some research and I learnt that it's accepting and not as biased as some other religions. I want to learn more about Buddhism~

My real name is Jessi--I'll be 30 next week and am from Massachusetts.
I'm a Hellenic Polytheist, with recon tendencies, and have been practicing for 7 years. I have long had interest in Buddhist philosophy and practice, and recently learned that there is actually historical precedence for Grecco-Buddhism. Byaggha mentioned this group on a guild we're both in, so I figure now is as good of a time as any to learn more and decide if Buddhism is a good fit for me.

Welcome to the guild, Skyler, Snow and Jessi.
And hooray - I'm not the only nearly 30 year old here! biggrin Also, Greco-Buddhism is fairly nifty. That's the joy of having a huge empire span; people from all over can come visit and share things. 3nodding

I aim to please Byaggha biggrin
There isn't a lot of information out there, but there is one person that's written some article on the modern practice, which makes it easier--the Wiki article on it is mostly historical and informative, less on actual practice.
