Cypher yawned again, eyes starting to droop shut.
John came flying back into the cave, chasing after the ball which he had accidently kicked into the cave.
"Come back here!"
Growling, the black pup pounced on top of the fruit and sat on it victoriously.

"Be careful John! You're going to break it!" Jane warned, moving away to shield herself in case the fruit should it pop.

"Nu uh!"
John hopped off the fruit, curling around it protectively.
Cypher twitched, curling himself into a tight ball in an attempt to shut out the noise.

"Fine. Just...be careful.." Stretching her wings slightly, Jane picked up her book and wandered up onto a small ledge just above the clearing where they normally slept. Laying down, she placed the book in front of her and began to read. Her tail hung down over the ledge, twitching ever so slightly every now and then.

Quickly becoming bored of protecting the fruit, John looked around for something else to occupy his time. As Jane's twitching tail caught his focus, the pup smirked.
Slowly he got to his paws and started moving forward. He figured if he stayed stealthy, he wouldn't draw the reading Tala's attention. Coming within range, John squatted down....and then leapt, paws batting at Jane's tail.

Jane took little notice of her mate until she felt a peculiar feeling on her tail. Her head swivelled to glare down at him. "John....what do you think you're doing?" she asked in an annoyed tone.

John grinned up at her innocently...before leaping to bat at the tail once again.

Growling slightly, Jane lifted her tail out of her mate's grasp and promptly whapped him on the head with it.

Growling back, John leapt up onto the small ledge and attempted to tackle the female.

Having nowhere to go, Jane was easily tackled. Keeping her down however might be harder than John had first thought. The instant her mate was upon her, the female brought her wings up, hoping to send John flying over her head.

John barked in victory, though the gesture was a tad bit early... As Jane's wings came up, they collided with the black pup and sent him flying off of Jane...and the ledge. Below, John crashed back into the ground with a yelp. Despite his fall, John was instantly back on his feet and once more trying to catch hold of Jane's tail.

Jane rose to her feet with a bit of a triumphant smirk. So concentrated on the elation that victory brought, she failed to notice her tail had drooped towards the ground once more, easily within John's reach.

Grinning, John leapt up and latched onto her tail, attempting to yank her off the ledge as well.

The weight on the other end of her tail offset Jane's blance. She clawed at the ledge as she was dragged downwards. Eventually her grip gave way and she fell backwards, onto her mate. "OOF!"
