Kora stood up and shook herself out. "Well, I'm glad you had a better training period than me." she truthfully told Icarus. Then she walked awy into the group of wolves to let Rouqie talk to her sort-of-adopted son, looking for Fairyn. The she-wolf was like a mother to her, since her real mother had gone to fight the Darkness and had probably been killed.
"Faiyrn?" she called.

"There isn't one," A'cuil replied, and the words were accompanied by a forceful shake of his head, "and it shows. We have no guidance here, and not all of those assembled can afford to be loners." He looked at Rebel pointedly then. He was not glorifying the traits that he and the brown youth shared: to survive alone was a strange thing in a wolf. Perhaps Clio had a loner within her as well, but A'cuil could ot remember seeing enough of her to decide. They craved structure - they needed a pack and a family. It was in their nature and part of their design. "I do not even think that one Alpha will be enough for this group. I believe that, perhaps, we will have to divide..." His voice trailed off. Was the brute already lost in thoughts of a rank he had not earned?
A'cuil shook his head. "There are many more than Sure-Claw here. Haven and Flyers come in greater numbers, and overwhelm us." Of course, that only made sense. They were in Haven's forest, after all. And while the male couldn't explain the abundance of Plains-wolves, he figured that it was surely a fact that the Sure-Claw was the pack who had massed the largest party of warriors, thus leaving the fewest members behind. That only made sense. "Some wolves are more... forceful than others." His thoughts went to the blue-and-black male - Andragos, A'cuil had heard him called - and growled for the memory.

Rebel's attention had been on Clio as A'cuil answered her question, and he nodded in agreement. Only then did he realize that A'cuil was looking at him, and Rebel turned his head to stare back at the older male. He knew that A'cuil's words were true. The Great Packs had chosen the best of their numbers to go and confront the Darkness, and though they did leave some capable wolves behind to keep order, it still said something about the ones that did not choose to help the cause. There were exceptions, of course, but Rebel had not considered himself to be one of the capable ones until just recently when he came down from the mountains on a search for answers. He had a reputation for being unteachable, unbreakable, and good for nothing.
"I can't help being curious," he admitted, knowing he would have to word this carefully. He felt he had made a sort of alliance with A'cuil, and did not want to agitate him at the moment. "I wonder what the alpha will decide about the Darkness. Do we stay and wait for a sign, or do we go and find them?" And, the part that he neglected to voice, was whether they were making up a new pack because the remnants of the Great Packs were now obsolete. Were they just throwing away the old and replacing it with the new, or did these wolves think they could actually succeed in challenging the Darkness?

°o.O❇ℙ๑ℛ๑ℐ๑ℕ๑ℂ๑ℇ❇O.o° Prince awoke to the sound of conversing wolves all around. He stood with a sretch, a yawn escaping his maw. "Ceres what will happen if the packs split?" Prince looked up at the pink Fae with sad eyes. "I don't want to be seperated from you." Prince whined. He was fond of Ceres, she was so much like his mother. Prince thought about his time with the Flyers. He missed being able to flat out run, in the forest you had to watch for trees and all of those other things. He sighed then, layed back down next to Ceres, cuddling in her warm fur.

Feeling movement from the young pup stretching, Ceres looks down at Prince. She listens to what he had said, and wondered if they were going to split. "Well, I don't know what would happen if we were all to split," she pauses and takes a sharp breath. "But regardless of what happens, I promise I will stay with you." She too had grown attached to the young pup, and did not want to leave him, whatever the costs would be. Lowering her head, she gently tries to groom Prince, deep in thought about what will be happening the next few days.

°o.O❇ℙ๑ℛ๑ℐ๑ℕ๑ℂ๑ℇ❇O.o° Prince's tail wagged slowly. The pup sighed contentedly, feeling reassured by Ceres's words. "There are so many wolves, I haven't known a pack so big and there are more wolves coming in every day." Prince sighed. He didn't want the group to split all the wolves seemed friendly. "I wonder who will be Alpha, Who do you think it will be, Ceres?" Prince sat up and tilted his head to the side. "Who do you want to win?" Prince had no favoritism to any one wolf but, maybe Ceres thought there was a wolf more capable then the others.

xxxxxClio growled out of both frustration and disappointment. She had hoped for some sort of structure to be found in the Haven area. Masses of unorganized wolves could only mean chaos and fights. No matter how much of a huntress she was, she'd rather avoid the sight of fights. Vivid images of horrific battles she had witnessed floated at the edge of her thoughts. With a muted snarl, she brushed them away. She glanced up at A'cuil's mention of two packs and considered it for a moment. There was likely wolves of other packs that wouldn't agree with.
xxxxxThe muted snarl returned as she discovered her pack's numbers were the smallest. Of all the wolves that remained, Sure-Claws were the strongest, she figured. "We can hold power over numbers, Sure-Claws are strong." She growled quietly, mostly thinking out loud than suggesting a course of action.
xxxxxClio turned her attention to the brown-gray wolf. Peering into his intimidating eyes she could see the look of thoughtfulness. She kept silent as he spoke, for she too had been questioning something similar. However, she did pick up on the part that he had refrained from saying. An almost inaudible whine escaped her throat before she could stop it. "We'd go after them, most likely." Her voice was more hopeful than it was sure.

Little brown paws pat-patted through the trees, crunching the grass beneath him. The tiny pup glanced back and forth, sniffing occasionally in the hopes of catching another wolf's scent, and when that failed, he would travel a few more paces before trying again.
With most of his pack gone, it was easy for Dekel to slink away from the others, but after a little while, it quickly became apparent that he was lost and no one was coming after him. 'Definitely not my best idea,' he thought to himself. So here he was, wandering aimlessly through the forest to try and find someone, anyone.
Suddenly, he paused, ears pricking up in attention. He could hear voices up ahead of him. 'Which means....' His tail wagged excitedly, and, not giving any thought over the fact that whoever it was is a complete stranger, he bounded towards them. By this point, he was just happy to see another living soul that he can talk to.

°o.O❇ℙ๑ℛ๑ℐ๑ℕ๑ℂ๑ℇ❇O.o° Prince looked away from Ceres, his ears flicked to the sound of crunching leaves. He saw a pup with a brwon tail arrive in much the same manner as he had. Prince appraoched the up with his tail raised but, in a friendly playful manner. He lowered his front half so his rump was in the air. His tail wagged playfully, this pup was close to the same age as him. "Hey, I'm Prince." He yipped and gave a playful puppy-like growl. He galnced at Ceres who he would soon be returning to.

Dekel's tail was practically going a mile a minute by this point. Not only did he come across other wolves, but he also found someone who looked to be around his age too. Yipping happily, he responded in kind to the brightly furred male. "I'm Dekel."
The little one was about to crouch down playfully as well, when he noticed the older wolf that Prince had peered over to. A white ear cocked to the side, he observed the female for a second as he debated over introducing himself to her as well. He was not exactly fond of adults, but she seemed nice at first glance... and it would be rude not to. So he gave a wolfish smile and barked a greeting to her, before mumbling a question to the other pup. "Who's that?"

Dekel growled lightheartedly as his ear was played with, raising a brown-toed paw to bat gently back at Prince. "Down by the plains. I'm from," he paused, "Well, I was from what used to be the Flyer Pack, but I'm not sure if that still counts by this point."
His ear came loose, twitching a little bit on its way out, before he glanced around him. "I've never been in the forest before" He eyed the tall trees around them, then looked back over at Prince. "I was out playing and well...." He scuffed a paw against the ground, embarrassed, and his ears flattened against his head. "I sort of... got lost."
His tail flicked once, before his features snapped back into cheerfulness. "And sure. If she's nice... it wouldn't hurt to meet her."

°o.O❇ℙ๑ℛ๑ℐ๑ℕ๑ℂ๑ℇ❇O.o° Prince took a quick bat at Dekel's tail before backing up and looking at him. "I was from the Flyer pack also." Prince searched through his mind trying to find a memory of the pup standing before him. Prince's tail wagged as he turned and trotted back over to Ceres. He turned and looked at Dekel beckoning to come over.

Dekel blinked, "Really?" He stopped to think over that, trying to think back to the other pups in his clan. Come to think of it, he did vaguely remember brightly colored pup somewhere in there, but he was never the best at remembering things, and he had a habit of wandering off to play by himself, as proven by how he ended up here. So it would not really be much of a surprise if they were from the same pack and hadn't noticed.
Shaking his head, he got up and walked after the male pup in front of him. As he got up closer, he nodded to the older female before him. "Hello."

A'cuil's bass growl rumbled through his chest in approval of Clio's sentiment. Even he had long been envious of her staunch and unfaltering loyalty. Why she had not been chosen to fight the Darkness was a question that puzzled the snakeskin wolf almost as much as... well, why he hadn't. But to Rebel's question, he offered no answer of his own.
In truth, he did not know. Were he the leader of wolves, going against a force that so many strong and able fighters had not been able to bring down after this long - he would not know whether he could do it, when his numbers were less. There were plenty of warriors back in that clearing, to be sure, but a good wild hunt needed more than warriors. Hunters were needed, their keen skills imperative for scouting ahead for the pack's enemies. Medics were necessary to staunch the inevitable wounds. And a pack-sense, more than any of that, was needed. The rag-tag band gathered in the clearing did not have that. A'cuil knew that they might not have that for many moons to come.
"A Sure-Claw's strength is without question." A'cuil rolled his shoulders as he replied to Clio, nodding the agreement in his face. "But we need some solid assent, not brutality here. We need diplomacy." Oh, he hated the word! But his mother had been so fond of it, and from what he could recall, it had not failed her.
"We should make our way back, and have words with some of the wolven. The new Alpha must be chosen, and soon. Like now." His words were punctuated with a decisive downturn of muzzle. There really was no time like the present, especially with the last of the Great Packs at stake.
