Metal-Ridley
I LOVE The Agonist! I didn't expect you to though, but yeah as I said I'm a metal kinda guy. The nickname doesn't come from the music subgenre though, I got it before I really got into the whole metal thing. XD

If you want some more hard rock/metal stuff, I could share a few more bands. I'm not a living encyclopedia, but I know a fair amount of good bands. ;P

No, I don't really listen to j-rock. I do know some, but it never really was my thing and I never really tried new j-rock bands or anything. sweatdrop I do know a Japanese band though!... But they're Melodic Death Metal again, well... some weird blend of things, including Melodic Death. They're weird, used to be Symphonic/Death metal too. O_o

I like your avatar, by the way. =P
My only problem is the vocals. All I can think when I listen to these singers screaming into their microphones is how much damage they are doing to their vocal chords. Also, I cannot understand what they are saying. -_-;;

I am always open for suggestions! My music selection is kinda limited at the moment so I have been endeavoring to change that. You might find this funny. The music store that's near me is called Electric Fetus. Nice name, right?

Ah, thanks! I was... not happy with the previous one. But then, I'm weird about stuff like that. Also, so proud of myself for finally getting the fox set. xD

Haha, yeah you eventually get used to the growling (<- technical word, screaming is more high pitched in Metal). I used to really dislike it back when I only listened to hard rock/nu metal, until I found out about Silent Civilian, who are Metalcore, and then ended up really liking them and got used to their growls. I then started looking around for bands that sounded like them, got into Bullet for my Valentine, Killswitch Engage, All That Remains... etc etc, and yeah now I actually like the growling.

Hah! Electric Fetus, I like the name! There are so many underground bands/musicians with weird random names like that. So, opened to suggestions, but not much growling, hm? *thinks* You could start with the obvious System of a Down and Disturbed, if you don't already listen to them. I really like Element Eighty as well, Slackjaw's just plain great if you ask me but the singer growls a lot on that one. You might like Submersed, they're lighter than Element Eighty on their music/vocals. These bands mainly Nu Metal though, with Submersed being more Hard Rock/Alternative Metal I think. If you want to try out some Metalcore, here's a few personal recommandations:
-Silent Civilian (one of my favorite bands)
-Bullet for my Valentine
-Haste the Day
-In This Moment (Yes yes, that's a girl singing/screaming)
-Unearth

Of course, Metalcore is rougher than Nu Metal, but not as rough as Melodic Death metal. There's some growling and screaming, just not as much.

Ahh... I used to have the whole Fox thingies, but I sold them when I stopped using them. I realized I was more of a lizard boy than a kitsune. XP

My music taste is so wildly varied...I'd have hard time saying just what I liked. I pretty much listen to whatever I like the sound of. Be it Opera, metal, classical, pop, what have you.

Metal-Ridley: Ah, I have an album from Bullet for my Valentine! Much love for the song Forever and Always. Growling is definitely a better term for it.

Agreed! Some of the indie bands... it's a little ridiculous. There's a two guy band here called Emergency Brake. xD

I used to listen to System of a Down a lot, actually. Disturbed not so much but i know them. Chop Suey is such a good song.

Mm, I think I'll take a look at Element Eighty again later. I have heard Hollow before! AMV for Bleach that won an award last year at Detour (a convention). I really like this opening for Ghost Stories. Definite add to the music list. So much love for Bullet for my Valentine! Who definitely need a shorter name! Oh, that's the other thing. Really long band names drive me up a wall. Same with song titles. From Fallout Boy 'A little less Sixteen Candles, a little more Touch Me'. Ridiculous. Oh and they are repeat offenders.

Anyway. Haste the Day is on the maybe list. Still, I love the descent in the chorus. When the lead sings 'sleep on the floor'. That's pretty kickass that a girl can sing like that. Good for her. Another excellent opening. Yes.

I still don't understand how you can get the genres straight.

Haha, it suits you. Thought of using one of the skins?

No favorite bands or anything? Think of it like this. If there was a concert and tickets were really expensive, what bands would you still dole the cash out for? That's generally how I think of it. Actually had to use that last October, too.

Oh I could name a few Favorites,
Muse, Iced Earth, Mars Volta, System of A Down, Captain Dan And the Scury Crew...
I have over 13gbs of music right now so I have time just narrowing it down though....

Xaimee: Hai! I'll try to post before Wednesday. I can't garantee anything (I gots a job nao), but I have to post in all my RPs and I don't want to make anyone wait on me forever again, so yeah. =o

Thaedrian: Emergency Break, nice. I personally like Iwrestledabearonce (yes, writen like that) for band names. They're one heck of an Avant-Garde band too!

If you love Bullet for my Valentine, chances are you're going to really love Silent Civilian. They have two albums out already: the first one is pretty good and worth the listen, but it's their second album that's just plain awesome. Definitively their best. As for long names, there's this Canadian Nu band, Evans Blue, whose two previous albums had lengthy names. "The Melody and Energetic Nature of Volume" is the first, "The Pursuit Begins When this Portrayal of Life Ends" is their second album. I had to look up the names to make sure I didn't mess up somewhere. XD

Yeah! In This Moment's really good. I still prefer The Agonist in terms of female lead vocalists, but they're really good. I really <3 metal bands with female vocalists as their lead singer.

Well, for the genres, after listening to a lot of band you usually get to know which subgenre sounds like what. Also, wikipedia helped a lot when I started getting into the metal stuff. XD
But yeah, now I can reconize subgenres just by listening to them. I'm not always right, some genres are weird or some bands have more than one subgenres, but I'm usually fairly accurate.

No, I'm not really a skin stuff kinda guy. I like my avatar the way it is even if I've had it like this since the beginning of time. XD

Souly: That's pretty good! All genres mixed together? My music collection's ~35Gb, but half of it is Rock/Metal and the other half's video game music... XD

Yeah mixed genres right now.

I always halted on getting more than 8gbs because I was limited to that on my Ipod, and didn't want to have pick and chose songs, so I was always selective over what I downloaded to my PC and thus my pod, but I've got a 32GB one now.

I'm just getting entire albums instead of picking and choosing the songs I liked the most, so my collections going up now I'm more willing to just throw whatever I want on my computer now.

The Rainwave crazyness is over now, so the only thing "in the way" is work, but it's not in the way at all. I'm a little tired, but I can still post.

I'll be working on it shortly (most likely tomorrow) and have a new post up soon.
