Spent my days with a woman unkind,
Smoked my stuff and drank all my wine.
Made up my mind to make a new start,

If I had told you, you wouldn't let me go through with it. I needed to be sane again.
She managed an "it would have-" instead.

While her brain shut down, her tear ducts started up. All she had wanted to do was be cured of her hallucinations, which was all that the machine was supposed to do. But it turned out not only to be a horrible idea in and of itself, but had gotten everyone she loved hurt along the way - a phenomenon that occurred all too often for her taste.Someone told me theres a girl out there

Chris wanted to run in front of Remus,
Even though she felt the same way she couldn't have this,
She just got back and he was screaming and seemingly scaring her.
So she just smiled a Kaokie gently.

"Remus, you're frightening her." Hrothbert said softly (and vaguely reproachfully). He was looking at Kaok in an almost paternal manner, and left Emma's side to stand beside the Faun, trying to reassure her as best he could.

Remus ignored Hrothbert, but he was a little annoyed at his getting involved. Remus felt he had every right to be angry but at the same time, he was relieved to see that Kaok was alive and well. Finally, he relented and he went forward and put his arms around her. He was surprisingly gentle for a large being made of metal.
"I'm sorry I got upset. I was just so scared that I had lost you forever. You mean more to me than anything else." he whispered, his voice wavering slightly.

When he hugged her, the crying only increased. She hadn't been scared - just felt like scum, honestly, and him apologizing for getting mad just made her feel worse.
"I'm sorry... I shouldn't have lied to you, or come here, or gone behind your back or-." She couldn't choke out anything else beyond the tears.

After a few minutes of embracing Kaok and repeating "I love you." over and over again, Remus finally pulled away. He was no longer angry with her. He could never stay angry at Kaok, no matter what the circumstances were.
"I think you should put something on, dear. This isn't exactly a beach party on Mimir." he said, trying to put a little humor into the whole situation.

Her eyes had dried at this point, for the most part, and she was incredibly relieved, excited, happy and all other manner of things just to be normal again. She couldn't know if she had fixed what she'd come to fix, but that hardly mattered anymore.
"I could have sworn that it was for a moment." Kaok quipped before heading over to the lab counter, where she had spied her clothes. It took a few moments, but she was dressed - feeling much better afterwards - and ready to leave this horrible place.
Up until she felt a gun pressed against her temple, and a scaled hand grab her wrist harshly.
"Drop all of your weapons," Dr. Evros called out to the rest of the room. "And no magic or robotic shenanigans, or I'll shoot."Someone told me theres a girl out there

How long do you think it would take to dissolve the gun in his hand?
I'm not willing to take that risk. Something tells me he wouldn't be so confident if all he had was a gun.

Chris froze in shock, Brain wheeling.
"EVROS!? What is he doing!!? Why would he do this!?!"
Chris began to bubble with overwhelming hatred for Evros,
He had been in this helping them and now this happened!?
She would have attacked but how could she?
With her promise and the threat to kill Kaokie, She wouldn't move a inch.
"In the dark room..The lab..That was a alerternitve reality..Except.." Chris's eyes went wide.
"What if Evros had killed us!!?"

Remus couldn't believe what he was seeing and hearing. He also couldn't believe that he had trusted Evros the whole time. How could he have been so blind? The Imperator raised his gauss rifle, training it at the doctor's head, but he saw that Kaok was in the way. The superheated energy slug would have killed them both, no matter how accurate he was. The Imperator cursed and lowered his weapon.
"You slimy son of a b***h! What sort of treachery is this?! Unhand her right now or I'll-"

The Faun mumbled. "Trusting you has proven a bad move so far."
"I have a gun to your head, if you didn't notice."
James wasn't taking this well, he could barely speak audibly, but he managed to get out, "You were one of my friends, Malcolm..."
His day had just decided to get worse - first seeing that alternate Kaok die, and then all of them being dead and... and He'd worked with this man for how long and suspected nothing?
"One of my only friends..."
Evros snickered. "How surprising than an idiot would have poor judgment."
"You never let on at all." The elf told himself more than the other doctor.
"Even the best liar has a tell, and you should've seen that, Cairndeer."

"Alright 'Batshit Insane', What's the reason for this!?"
For being one of the shortest people there and being pregnant,
Chris's voice sounded menacing and filled with hate.

The nobles were silent (as was their wont in tense situations), continuing their debate through their link. Neither betrayed any flicker of emotion, though tears were still drying on Emma's cheeks.

Remus dropped his guass rifle and Perseverance on the floor and pushed them away with his foot. However, he didn't push them too far out of reach. Still, he felt useless. But there might have been another way to get Evros to drop his guard.
"What is it you want, Malcolm? Fame? Money? I can give you that, you know. I'll let you leave peacefully if you want. I'll give you my word. Just don't harm Kaok." the Imperator said in an attempt to negotiate.
