Just got back home from my best friend's house... her boyfriend is the world's biggest a*****e. She just found out that he'd emotionally cheated on her twice - once while they were planning their wedding. I'm glad they never went through with it for her sake.
The guy actually said that he'd offered this girl he used to know a plane ticket if she'd come down to live with him. My best friend was like, 'So you'd leave me and our child to rot?' and he replied, 'I wouldn't leave our child to rot.' Way to imply that he would in fact leave her to rot. D: And she asked why he was still with her, and he said, 'I don't have enough money to make it on my own and I don't want to be homeless.'
*facepalm*

I mean by asking someone else to come and live with him, and having feelings for them and whatnot. As far as she knows, he never had sex with this girl or anything, but my friend still considers it to be cheating and I don't blame her.
...And am I messing up your efforts to cover the first page with your name? xD

She's still with him at the moment, but she's thinking about breaking it off with him today. She's just having trouble working up the nerve to do it, since he's her first love, they've been together six years (since she was 16), and they have a kid that's three and a half. I feel really bad for her because she has almost lost herself in the relationship, like she's not a whole person by herself. I don't think she'll cope with being single well. sad

Well, he has problems. And by problems, I mean a psycho dad who did the same thing to his mom, who he idolizes and thinks can do no wrong. He is also bipolar.
The wedding thing was actually a couple of years ago - they got back together after they broke it off and whatnot, she just found out about him trying to bring that girl down to live with him last night. He managed to hide it from her for two years. They were talking about things she'd done to hurt him in the past (what a laugh) and she sidetracked him and tricked him into confessing because she claimed to have seen the IMs. That's the only way she could get the truth out of him.
I think she's doing as well as could be expected. She spent most of the night crying herself to pieces and then she just got angry. I think she'll be fine eventually.

Yeah, he does. And he thinks he's a wonderful dad, but his "bonding time" with the kid consists of him sitting at his desk playing World of Warcraft while the kid watches TV. He's a terrible father.

She is lucky to have such a supportive friend there to help her.

I actually don't think the kid knows much of what's going on. They've always done a lot of fighting, so he probably doesn't realize anything is different. They have an apartment cities away from her parents' house, which is where she stays on the weekends, so the kid is also used to them being in different places. He might realize it later, but he won't catch on quite yet.
