Shane has a gryphon, and the gryphon like him; that should endear him to Zuuta at least a little--plus he's kinda wild-lookin' and ruggedly muscular, which out to appeal to Zuuta's personality. wink Here's a handy link to the RP. biggrin Alrighty, Lord Malaroth, who do you think should win, and by how many moves? mrgreen

Weellll.... you'll have to make a VERY good case if you want a close tie. 3nodding Here's why.
A) Elenda is 34; Shane is 25 B) Elenda has been in numerous battles and has been in intense training since she was old enough to hold an axe; Shane has probably practiced a lot with the weapons he makes and the swords he carries C) Elenda's strength comes from combat and wielding weapons; Shane's strength comes from the forge D) Elenda's status as one of the nine greatest knights in Mandor is testament to her abilities; Shane's vocation as a blacksmith makes a similar statement
The guy is outclassed. I don't care how many weapons Shane has made in his 25 years of life or how muscular he might have become from it, Elenda has seen more battles and lived through more danger in her 34 years than even a lifetime of smithywork could hold a candle to. A blacksmith with a couple swords, realistically, isn't going to be all that great a challenge.
Besides, it wouldn't look very good to have the errand leader's abilities so easily matched.
So, without yet hearing your promotions for Shane -- assuming no extra time is spent on the fight, playing around or sizing each other up -- I'd say Elenda would win in 4 moves, and 3 of those moves would be hers. The short battle would look like: S > E > E > E* *finishing blow
I'd like the fight to be more interesting than that, though. We can add moves and play with ratios depending on what kind of reasoning you can give me to support the level of skill Shane would need. =) We're like planning a wrestling match. xD

If you need a distraction in the fight, I can have River accidentally do something random that startles the mage's gryphon and toss him off. It'll send him flying toward Elenda and Shane. That way, there's no clear winner.

*sigh* I wish he'd reply. I don't want him to feel like he's not getting a fair shake at it.
Maybe I'll wait a couple more days and then move on.

So it would seem, yes. In light of Lord Malaroth's disappearance, I guess I'll just powerplay his character for the immediate present, so we can start this up again. Sorry to take so long -- other major projects have been eating up my free time.
I should have a post up soon. smile

Ahhh, that's right. Well, maybe it's a good thing it's going slow at the moment. Still, I'll see what I can do about setting the stage and getting things moving. =)
We'll all just have loose expectations, I guess, until summer starts. I guess just checking back every few days should be enough.
We should make some sort of policy to post when you check the OOC, if it's been a few days in between.
I wish Gaia would make some sort of notification system for guild forums.

Cripesmaster! I had completely forgotten about the OOC thread! sweatdrop I was just checking the IC thread, so I thought the RP had died like so many others I join. Anehway, I think I know why nobody's posted IC now 3nodding
Hanyway, that sounds fine, Kalon. I had forgotten to take into account Elenda's status and experience, but what I was aiming for was that Shane wasn't just a smith all his life. If you actually read his profile, it said he had traveled for some-odd number of years. Also, if you saw my post, I'm setting up for a combo, so it shouldn't be as simple as 4 moves. Perhaps Elenda could easily defend against most of his combo (except the opener if she blocks Shane's initial hit, because the execution of it basically uses the opponent's defense to get attacks in on them), making Shane look a bit crazy for challenging her. Then Shane could maybe just knock her back a bit, but then she comes back with a vengeance and annihilates Shane. Kidding, but she needs to at least show Shane "who's boss" xD
Again, sorry for the not-checking-this-threadness. Won't happen again.
