Tod saw her near him and was instantly relieved. He wasn't accustomed to this lifestyle enough to be left alone in a dark cave that was crawling with monsters in a middle of his first ever storm.

  Crysella chuckled and looked at Tod. "My best interest, really now?" she seriously doubted that and was convinced that he just wanted to poke her boobs, especially since he was the one who initiated the poking.
She could see the relief on his face and silently laughed at him. She couldn't help it, she had been in the murk so long that dark scary caves were like a walk in the park to her. Alibi a dark park, but still a park.

Tod meant it dammit!
He leaned back into his arms and spread his legs out in front of him. He was more relaxed now knowing he wasn't going to be stuck alone...which would have been really scary!

Crysella rolled her eyes and sighed. "Whatever you say there sissy boy." yeah, she went there. But only in a joking manner, although in her head she was thinking how much he would need to be trained and all that jazz.
She went back to the fire and sat down, a frown on her lips as she looked at the pouring rain outside. How long was this going to last? She was getting bored and antsy, she felt as if she should be doing something with her time. Anything, just not sitting on her duff.

"Hey!" He shouted index finger pointed and ready to go. "I resent that! I am plenty manly, and I am damn courageous!" Tod was only half joking. he was offended, but not really.
Tod had complex emotions as it was, there was no use trying to understand him.
He huffed and shook his head as if in disbelief. "How would you like it if I called out burly girl? Or testosterone woman?"

Crysella rolled her eyes and sighed, "I would get up and b***h slap you and then show you just how "burly" I was." she said, as if that was the obvious answer.
Besides, she really was a manly chick, she just didn't look it. Hell, if you didn't know better she could even be mistaken as harmless.
"Alright, I take it back." she said with a nod.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------Oh...well then Tod definitely wouldn't be calling Crysella burly girl any time soon. Being b***h slapped wasn't one of his favorite things in the world.
Tod nodded in agreement. "Alright, now that that's over with I guess we can be friends again." He was kidding...because it wasn't like he was super serious about being offended so Tod had never lost faith in Crysella...but were they even friends at all?
Oh damn. They had such a weird relationship?
"Hey, Crysella," Tod said seriously, "what are we? Friends? Comrades? What?"

Crysella looked at him her smile slipping off her face a little at his question. She looked at him, her head tilted to the side and thought for a moment. "I suppose you would call us.... acquaintances." She wasn't sure, pretty much she had just said they weren't friends they just knew each other. That wasn't mean... and if it was, it was the truth.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------Tod nodded. "Acquaintances" He repeated, tasting the word. It made sense didn't it? they had expired some extreme highs (like the "pick me up") and some very extreme lows (Crysella being tortured for instance). Now they they be working together to tear down the Empire so eventually, they would transform into allies, right? And then what? Buddies? Pals? Friends?
What then?
Meeting people that weren't trying to report you to the authorities constantly was so weird.
"Yeah, that makes sense." He said agreeing with her easily. He looked out beyond the mouth of the cave.
"When is this rain gonna stop huh?" He said as more of a conversational started than an actual question.

Crysella nodded, glad she hadn't offended him. She sat in the silence, that only lasted a minute, before Tod asked his question. Then her gaze followed him to the mouth of the cave and she shrugged. "Maybe soon, maybe not. Hopefully soon, I have s**t that needs to get done." Yeah, and every moment wasted in this cave was more time for the Empire to notice Tod's absence.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------"This weather really sucks." Tod stated firmly. He was sick of the rain! It was ******** stupid and dammit he was sick of this cave!
"I hate to say this but the Empire got it right with the whole it's always a nice day sort of thing...because this rain is really debilitating and annoying." Wow Tod sounded fed up. Someone really didn't like the rain! But could you blame him? This was the first time he had had to deal with rain his whole life...and it was ruining everything!

Crysella looked at him a frown on her face and she immediately fell into her role of b***h. Or you could call it a teacher... with a ruler...
"First things first Tod. You have to learn to shut up. Then you have to learn to be patient. I would prefer you learned it in that order." hearing complaints was not a strong point of hers.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------W-what? Tod looked at her blankly, let a few seconds go by after her demands, then exploded.
"BUT I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE!" He threw his arms up into the air then grabbed his hair. He was so antsy! He hated rain and wind and caves and being stuck in one spot! Tod flung himself backwards and laid on the dirt floor groaning completely exasperated.

Crysella groaned in exasperation and stood up, standing over his now prone form. "Learn or die. That is the way it is out here Tod." she said, and that was final. It was the truth, and she didn't know any other way to explain it.

Well I'm sick of hearing it! The reason I came out here is so that I can feel and do what I want. If you take that away from me you're no better than the Empire."
Tod...had moments of--of God knows what, but his moments were always epic.
