Shock reigned first.

Seir stilled against Noctis for a moment, and realization struck. Words had never failed him so
utterly before. The dark constellation could laugh at the hilarity of the actions, if they had been
done to some other. However, considering he was recipient of such a low class tactic, his anger
began to stir more strongly than before. Seir had not intended to do anything this delicate. His eyes
focused with dangerous intensity, pupils shrinking into narrows lengths.

He was furious.

“How dare you commit such foul actions against your superior,” Seir murmured softly, spitting to
the side. He smiled faintly, body relaxing almost oddly before he literally slammed his head against
Noctis’ jaw. The dark constellation ripped his hand from the gunslinger’s grip and slammed it back
around the other’s neck; clawed digits dug into flesh there. Immediately, whatever power Noctis
had been given drained from the youth, sinking into Seir with alarming speed. “Tell me, boy, how
you feel when I turn you into nothing more you had been as a baby?”

And, then Aeos attacked.

The water that Keanu dragged from the ocean merely curved away from Aeos and Haveni. A
delicate swirl of chill surrounding them, frosting the side of whatever water had been turned back.
Aeos’ pale eyes slid upwards, catching sight of the dark form of his brother on the roof of some
building. Cold fury erupted; it had been Seir’s fault everything was wrong.

Honor? What had he left?

The black aura surrounded him like miasma, almost tainting the air he breathed. Another wave of
chilling air burst from him as he nearly tossed Haveni away like a rag doll, no longer caring. His
wings snapped opened, blood and feathers slapping the ground from the flick. Aeos shot up in the
air, fists clenched for a moment before he literally created a large, jagged piece of ice and slammed
it into the building Seir was standing on top of, hoping no more than to kill his wretched brother
once and for all.

Suzette desperately looked around, trying to find someone who could help her, she didnt knew how to swim. "Oh please..please" she cried as she tried to keep afloat but started to feel tired. She couldn't keep it for much longer.
Suddenly she had a flash back, a memory from her past that she though had already been buried.

She felt just like when she had been buried alive, waiting for her beloved...waiting for the man who never came for her. "I don't want to die...not like this" her eyes filled with tears as she felt something pulling her from beneath.

The salty water made her eyes sting and her vision blured...yet she managed to see something moving under water. It had a long fishy tail. Suzete gave up and just let go. She closed her eyes and let out the air she was holding, she felt the water down her throat and into her lungs then, the world went black.

A wild cackle escaped Loki's lips at the sight, his shoulders shaking to match the noise. What fun, what fun! He recognized the raven-haired boy, the one who had beaten him and poked fun at him until he thought his hand would break.

He only laughed when the people scattered, when his flames met buildings and caused them to burn and crumbled. It was different from his usual laugh; malicious, cold. He held hate in his heart, but he didn't know to whom to direct it, or who it was meant for. Not that it would have mattered. He would direct it at whoever got in his way.

As he watched Noctis, he felt the anger swell up in his chest. Why should he simply let him off like that? Now that he had his strength back - and, it seemed, more bloodlust than ever - he might as well put it to good use. Flicking his wrist again, he let the flames dance over the length of his arm, pooling at his hand and exploding forth, in the direction of Noctis. It was a game, now; an equal one. And he intended to win.

"Raven!" he called, throwing in a substitute for Noctis' name, as he had done for him. It was much more flattering than "Mudboy" or whatever he had been called, but he didn't feel like being especially creative at the moment. He knew he wouldn't be understood, but damn it, it just felt wrong to keep his mouth shut.

... that's right. That was what had gotten him in trouble before, in another life. He simply couldn't help himself. He waited, scarf snapping haphazardly behind him from the blast, to see if his attack would connect. He saw too late the large piece of ice, hurtling toward the same building via Aeos. What would come of the two elements? He grit his teeth roughly, suddenly annoyed.

"Damn him! Ice and fire do not mix."
PostPosted: Mon Nov 09, 2009 8:23 pm

Oh-- Perhaps that had been a bad move. But on the bright side, it had been amusing. His jaw hurt from the harsh impact, feeling quite sure that Seir had broken it. He didn't. The high amount of pain just made him feel like his jaw was broken. Noctis grinned sheepishly, wincing.

Oh damn-- He never knew that Seir had a power draining ability. Quite nice to know it, even if it was a little late. Or a lot late. Whoa.. he was starting to feel weak-- he had to get out of here----- Only split-seconds later was the connection of the thievery of power was cut off as the water and fire hit each other. He narrowly avoided Loki's previous flame attack, falling back as a wooden plank broke under him. Although he now had a nasty burn. Lucky him to be on that one plank. It was a relief to be falling, falling away from Seir's grip. Noctis was too weak to get out of the way, allowing himself to simply fall, landing roughly on the ground.

For some reason, even though they had been amusing, it had felt oh so very wrong. His inner self seemed to be crying from shame. Oh wait, he still had shame? Since when? He thought he had gotten rid of it a long time ago. And the attack gave him a chance to escape-- Away from Seir. With the weak strength he had left, he threw himself out of the building, near Haveni.

Oh yeah. Haveni. Haveni was still here. For some reason, he had forgotten that. Probably because he was having too much fun. Wait.. Haveni saw that? The amusement that had previously filled Noctis seemed to die down. .. This was not the opinion he wanted her to have, the thought screamed out through his mind, even through the craze that possessed him. He couldnt seem to look up at her, hand scratching his head in a sheepish manner.

if anything, the craze was dying down a little bit. Just a little. Oh s**t, that Loki guy was still here. Apparently, not as weak as before.

Noel looked to Aeos Shaking his head.. He too, one who was supposedly this girl's Ally, had been cursed, and now had turned against his own blood.

He reached out to catch Haveni, holding her up, then sitting her down gently, quickly before he could be touched out of her own will, dissolving back into his ghostly state.

Miss.. Miss this has to stop.. Please, I know that there are people who are worrying for you.. You must stop and gain control so you can help them! They've helped you as well, so you should do the same!

Fulmine popped his head above the water. He did not see that coming. He Knew Noel would be fine, and the first person he searched for was Suzette. He swam around until he saw a flash of red. It was her!

He took a deep breath and dove down under the water, swimming down deeper and deeper, grabbing her hand and pulling her back up.

"Suzette..." He worried, bolting out of the water to the only safe place he knew, the temple.

It was rather quick and sudden, the quaking jolt of realization she received after watching that shocking scene, and then being tossed down as if she were yesterday's news. What Ruin had said built in her mind more and more, even as she was caught by Noel and set to safety.

She confusingly read his words, and gazed around at the destruction, and those who were cursed. The violence and menace that had emanated from her was gone now, but she seemed...lost, somehow.

A crash sounded through the building as Noctis came through it close to her, causing her to stagger bckwards and fall to the ground on weak legs from surprise. Both his eyes were red, and she knew right away he had been cursed. Aeos had been cursed, young ones had been cursed, and those who had nothing to do with her at all had been..cursed, if not killed.

And to top it all off, her heart felt like it had that day so long ago, as if it had fallen to pieces to the depths of the cold, dark ocean, and that she would follow it soon, too. Not into the cold...not into the dark. Not again.

There was a moment of silence from her before a cry sounded from her, turning into a wail of despair and grief as she curled over her own lap, her face buried into her own hands. What have I done? What have I done...

Sobs wracked her body. She had slain the innocent, she had cursed people. She had cursed Noctis, and Aeos, and didn't even know if it could be done. She couldn't even control it. She was right with what she said earlier. She was no monster. She was indeed a devil, to herself as well.

Why wasn't Noctis attacking her, in his berserk state? Why did he stand there, looking sheepish? Did he even see Loki, in his berserked state staring at him so cruelly, eyes lusting to shed violence upon him?

Haveni cried out, bolting upwards and standing directly in front of Noctis, her arms out at her sides protectively. "No, Please stop it!" she cried, her voice wavering from her crying. She knew Loki might kill her now. She knew Noctis could easily do so as well, but she couldn't stop herself from rushing to do this.

Rosel was shocked. No pun intended, but it was really the only way to describe the sheer incredulity that over came her in that moment. Had Noctis just...kissed Seir? She couldn't imagine what else could have possibly happened, it was far too gentle to be any form of attack and given Seir's reaction, it didn't seem as though Noctis had slipped him some poison. Noctis has simply kissed him.

The man must have been Cursed. There was simply no other explanation.

The shock was further saturated by the sudden slab of ice hurtling towards the pair. She had yet to see another ice-master about, but the concept of Aeos attacking Seir, whom he had obeyed to the letter since the moment she met them, it was simply inconceivable. Noctis fell away, apparently the result of an elemental explosion as Aeos's ice met with a flame attack from an unknown constellation (Loki). Noctis had indeed made quite a few enemies today.

Perhaps he had kissed the other constellation while she wasn't looking?

Curse it all to the depths, things were too confusing. A moment later, Haveni was up and protecting Noctis from his other possible-lover. Perhaps that was why he had attacked, jealousy?

It was enough for Rosel. Noctis cursed and gay, Aeos most likely cursed and crazy, and Seir under fire from his cursed brother. Their little group was looking sad indeed. But Haveni's decision to shield Noctis was good enough to inspire her to jump in. Rosel looked between the pair and the dark horned constellation, she saw them all in profile. Still refusing to let go of her pole, she sucked in a slow breath. Even with adrenaline and lightning running through her veins, she didn't feel terribly steady, and she would not suffer the indignity of fighting from the ground. At least the wound across her back had dulled to a low fire under her skin. At a sharp exhale, she focused on the horned constellation, and let her lightning lance out towards him.

Rosel was absolutely not letting their group get any worse over a lovers spat.

The pale woman seemed to have calmed down from her vengeful streak, and finally realized what she had done. He knew not if he had helped, nor if he had possibly made things worse. But what he did know is that the darkness around her seemed to slowly ebb away.

Still in his ghostly form, he followed her, standing beside her as if he were haunting her. He said nothing, just watched, wondering if she could stop the anguish she had caused.

Noel was no longer the healer right now. He was simply a watcher, a guardian, one who would step in if need be, though he didn't couldn't do much. He would heal the wounded, he decided. Once he saw what would happen, he would make a move.

He stopped, blinked twice, yet not quite seeing Haveni. He still saw the dark, swirling mass of a woman, and he lowered his arm to stare. Why was she protecting the raven? She asked him to stop, but... why?

Oh. He got it.

A smirk slowly curled his lip again, and he staggered back a step, his arms hanging limply at his sides. Idly he gestured to Haveni, finally beginning to see that her eyes had changed, as had her demeanor. She was different, now, and he felt he was supposed to recognize that.

"Your... lover?" he asked, gesturing again toward Noctis. Knowing she wouldn't understand, he then held a forefinger out, drawing a heart of flame in the air. It glowed a dim orange-white, and burned out almost immediately. Loki then pointed to Noctis, raising his eyebrows questioningly.

"What a pity," he said, voice hollow and low. "Lovers should die together, shouldn't they?" It seemed fair enough. Yet, with his berserked state had come a strange realization, as if he had awakened to being the person he was meant to be. Senseless violence did sound fun, but it wasn't the only thing. He had no reason to hurt the girl; why, he should be thanking her! He laughed, sudden and short-lived, and immediately stepped backward again, making sure to remain away from Haveni.

He could feel it. She was back to normal, and that meant his current state could be reverted, as well. It was a damn shame, indeed. He couldn't get near the raven without involving her, and he didn't want to know what would happen to him if she died. Would he be returned to his carefree self? His pitiable existence? No, he didn't want that.

He shook his head, quiet giggles still escaping him as he stepped back further.

When he heard the crack of lightning, he acted quickly, light on his feet as he leapt out of the way. He frowned in Rosel's direction, bounding back several leaps to land safely away from Haveni and the raven. Should he engage her? She was probably trying to protect the other two, but that didn't mean she would stop once he had moved away.

Repositioning himself into a fighting stance, of sorts, he kicked swiftly at the air, sending a burst of fire from his leg toward Rosel. He doubted it would connect, as his accuracy was much less with his legs in exchange for power, but it was worth a shot. He could run any time he wanted, after all. No hurt in having a little fun along the way.

Seir was already leaping away when Loki’s fire and Aeos’ ice collided. Steam and water
poured from the impact, and he used that to full effect. Forcing the water to circle around him for a
moment, Seir shot the stream against his brother, ignoring the cursed Loki. It didn’t seem like he
was a threat, at least, not to him, but to Noctis. He didn’t allow the water to touch him; it was
searing hot, but perfect for the any battle against Aeos.

However, inside, he knew very well that any elemental battle he had against Aeos would lead to him
losing. He’d been stronger physically, but with Aeos’ curse… Seir shrugged and shot into the air to
follow the path of the water. Noctis’ power swam within him, staying above his own like oil against
water. Gunslinger abilities?

No… He preferred his fists than any pleasure weaponry could give him. However, what could he do
when that damn Noctis had broken one arm? Sighing, he took his time to draw up the gun as the
gunslinger had done and shot up at Aeos. It missed by a far mile, and Seir decided against using it.

What a useless power that was.

The dark constellation shot up at Aeos and sent a fist flying to meet the cold flesh of his brother.
Seir had merely lost an arm, not all his appendages.

Aeos could snarl at Loki, but his mind was occupied with Seir.

Blasting off a layer of cool air to push away the water, the ice constellation hadn’t even thought to
use his swords. Any battle between them now would be claw against claw because that would be
the easiest to rip Seir apart. He raised a thin shield to block Seir’s punch, twisted a little to send a
kick of his own that was blocked by a fist. Like Noctis, he momentarily felt the impact of a head
slamming against his own.

The massive dizziness and headache startled him.

.. Yeah. Why was Haveni protecting him? -- Oh wait, she had knocked out of it? He felt a rush of disappointment yet.. accompanied by relief? He didn't feel as crazed as before.. Had Seir drained him of most of it when he absorbed the power?

"Lovers? I wish she was."

Noctis muttered, the pain finally seemed to come all at once when he wasn't having fun anymore. His burn hurt. Everything hurt. Even his throat which still harbored red marks from Seir's painful grip. Noctis sagged back down, sitting down on the dirty dusty ground. Oh gosh.. everything freakin' hurt.

He looked up at Haveni. What had snapped her out of it? Surely not the intimacy with Seir? But.. what else was it?

"I swear-- If I was still as charged, I would have ******** you over already Loki." Not to say this curse was gone. No-- He still had the feelings of the curse wandering through his being. But it just wasn't as strong now. he satred up, bursting into another bout of crazy laughter over Seir's pathetic attempt to use Noctis's weapons.

"Haveni-- You don't protect an a*****e like me. How many times do you need to have that repeated?" His tone was harsher because of the curse, the gentleness he ordinarily treated her with had decreased but it was still there.

Frowning as Dashiell rephrased the words, Azra'iel still did not bother to turn from watching
the battle to address the phryi. "I will "do something" only if my hand is forced. As for the young ones...
I will protect them, if I can, if they remain. But they are as free as you or I, they are free to be here or leave.
As are you. Ask them."

It seemed the children had no choice. A wicked twist of lightning approached and the phryi simply
took action. Azra'iel raised his sword and braced himself to try and force it back... but it never hit.
Someone had grounded it, but who... that thought was replaced at the approach of a new, foreign power.

A being that radiated a sense of balance was approaching. As Kurios growled and grumbled,
Azra'iel relaxed back to a low guard. "A festival of death or mayhem perhaps, friend." Curious.
What was this creature? The Constellation feared losing sight of Haveni so could not turn to see.

The darkness around her grow, enveloping many. When her aura flared again, a swirls of darkness shot
past him, maybe through him, he knew not. Just being that close to the darkness of the abandoned dead
frozen him for a moment and he cursed as he saw the corrupt darkness firmly attach itself to the aura
of innocent darkness behind him. Turning, he hoped he would not have to hurt the child and that the phryi
would be fast enough to escape with the boy if necessary.

Ramial was painfully jerked back by the red phryi. They had just nearly been fried by LIGHTNING.
More than even he, a lightning user, could have handled. And the girl was... introducing herself?
In the middle of all this?

...Well, why not? It seemed the world was going to go to hell in a hand basket.
The street child always knew it would, he just hadn't
planned on being present.
"Oh, I'm, uh, Ramial. I'd say nice to meet you but it... seems to be a bad..."
He thought he'd heard Meowth's voice! Turning frantically, he didn't see his coworker;
but he did see a strange black creature has seemingly materialized from the air.

Shakily reaching up to rub the back of his head, he wondered if he was imagining things.

Moments later, he heard the light Constellation guarding them curse softly.
Something dark, something menacing drifted through the air, passing between him and Rylia,
surrounding her, slipping into her, and the boy watched, confused about what was going on.

(( Myst has my permission to have Rylia do as she sees fit to Ramial
[other than outright kill him] until I can remove him from the situation.
Sorry if this was confusing; I had a lot to incorporate and tried to condense it. ))

She was rather shocked, to say the least, that he was speaking to her and not lunging for her throat, and even more-so when she heard the first sentence he had spoke. He wished that she were his lover? How could one cursed even think such a thing, let alone say it? Especially after kissing another - Seir of all people!

She just didn't know. Her arm rubbed against her eyes, clearing them of tears. She ached, and was frightened and weakening from using so much of that poltergeist element the spirits had given her. This existence was pitiful.

"I c..can do what I want." she murmured, without turning to face him. "I told you. I'm a monster and a devil."

She felt lke she should run away. She knew the survivors would soon go after her with pitchforks and other stabbing weapons, now that she was weakening. The world was beginning to spin, too, and there were those cursed. Part of her felt it might be justification if they did kill her. She had taken away their lives, after all, even if they weren't dead.

She began to sway from side to side, staggered, and fell down again. She didn't try to get up. Let it happen. Let Noctis kill her, right now. She didn't know if she could bear it again, to unwillingly cause so much horrors, especially when that last thing Ruin had whispered to her thoughts felt more true than ever.

The returning fireball was a wide shot, it would have missed her by a mile, but a slight amount of panic made her dodge to the side anyway. This fire was pure element, she couldn't destroy that with a bolt. Her standing support was suddenly gone with her movement and she wobbled on her feet, stumbling a few steps. Great, just great, now she just showed her weakness to the enemy. Fine strategist she was.

Haveni wobbled suddenly, and Rosel wondered in a fit of panic if somehow she was picking up on her own unsteadiness. The thought was dismissed as immediate idiocy. The horned constellation (Loki) obviously did something to her. Perhaps his fire attack drew off of those around him. What a miserable ability, she'd have to kill him quickly to keep it from continuing, Noctis's affairs be damned. Growling, Rosel's hand shot out of it's own accord, lightning snaking along her arm to exit her fingertips. The stretching of the bandage across her wound hurt, but the pain cleared the dizziness and she stood with feet spread, head lowered, steady.

Noctis felt the urge to turn Haveni around to straighten that impression. For a minute, he almost felt normal. Back to himself.

"How many times did I tell you not to call yourself that?!" Noctis muttered, about to take her into an embrace, protests or not. But suddenly, he pulled away, a hand suddenly covered his expression. His eyes remained furiously closed, the urge to kill once again reared it's ugly head. It was a moment of silence as a gun appeared, a sudden shot narrowly missed Haveni. He had been.. aiming for Haveni? But he missed from such a close range?

"S-s**t-- Haveni-- going berserk.." He could feel the rage overwhelming his mind once more, his gun dropped to the ground, remaining under the heavy crushing of his foot. Apparently, his newly found sanity hadn't lasted long enough.

"Rosel! I.. need you to cripple me. NOW. My hands-- Hurry!" He called out, knowing that Rosel's lightning could probably be the deciding pain factor to do it. Besides, Seir and Aeos were busy. He didn't want to hit Haveni-- Not now.

The urge to kill was so strong.. He couldnt hold it in for much longer.
