Move along, move along like I know you do.. James forced himself not to look back.
It wasn't just what he had revealed, but what she had said too. Was she saying she still loved him?
Or just that she would always care about him?
There was a major difference between the two.
This really wasn't something either should be thinking about.... when they were up here, alone...
He toweled off s he walked, back to the other room. It seemed the TV was still on...
Oh and just in time to hear the last thing Landon said. It appeared that things were much more intense then when they'd left...
And Stephanie.... she admitted to lying to him, about something, and he'd known, and...
James was prepared to watch, but he thought he might try and turn the TV off if Kaitlyn came over. She'd had enough just from what she saw earlier.
Now things were, well, he didn't like it, at all. ..And even when your hope is gone

Coming back up for air, it was time to get out. Swimming at a slow pace to the shallow end, eventually she could touch the bottom and walk out. She grabbed a towel, wrapped it around her and just headed back in the room silently. She didn't look at James as she passed him, grabbing her suitcase that was tossed in the door earlier. She looked around to see where the bedroom is.
Eventually she walked through the door. How nice, separate beds. She should be sharing a bed with Landon right now. But no, thing changed, and they were annoying. Setting her things on the bed she wanted, she opened her suitcase, and took of the necklace she had received last night, placing it with her other jewelery. Kaitlyn wasn't going to wear it unless she was more sure that he was hers, as well as she was his.
And nothing was certain with Steph in the picture. Plus, she said something to James she didn't want him to hear, because it was the truth. Now she needed to get dressed. But into what? No that much of a choice, just what she wore yesterday. Jeans and a tanktop. As soon as her clothes were on, she too her hair out of the pony tail, wring it out a few times before putting it up in a bun.
Time to figure out what exactly is going to happen. She walked back out, and went to the coffee table in front of the t.v. Picking up the letter and reading everything that was on it. "That's horrible. . . How can people justify doing acts such as these?

Landon wasn't surprised at all when she admitted it. Usually did, or stuttered a worse lie, when caught- due to being caught off guard. He remembered it very clearly... Kinda freaky. But this wasn't time for spacing off into memories that would only end up hurting.
In answer to her question, Landon just reached over and gently grabbed her hand, pulling it from her hair. He could have just moved it and let go, but there as a moment where he paused, her hand warm in his, so familiar so... he let go, and pulled his hand back, looking down.
He looked back up as she started to answer, stopping before she finished, but he knew the whole of the mostly formed sentence. Yeah, shouldn't concern him, right? What went on in her personal life was none of his business anymore...
But still, that look, nervous, like when she was lying, and stopped, and just... Landon wanted to know! Even if that made him nosy.
But she was tellling him to forget it...
"Steph... I don't mean to be nosy, but it's just, I'm worried about you. I'll stop pestering you if you can look me in the eyes, tell me your ok, and mean it."
Well. Yeah. Old habits die hard. He really was worried, by how she was acting not, plus the alcohol. So he was basically just doing the exact same thing he would have back when they were still together.
Would have caused a few memories to pop up if he wasn't so focused on the present.****************************************    As soon as forever is through

Stephanie wrapped another strand around her finger as she stared off. Then she left a warm hand on hers. Her heart raced instantly, banging in her chest so hard it felt like it would burst through.
She looked up, her cheeks on fire as her hand laid in his for a moment too long. Then he dropped it, pulled away and she felt her speeding heart sink right down to the pits of her stomach.
Her eyes focused on her hand, which still laid on the table. Only now, it was empty. And she felt cold again.
Then he was practically telling her she had to tell him. "You're not.. it doesn't.. Why do you care Landon?" She looked up at him, feeling her nose burning, which meant tears could fall.
Could. But woudn't. She just felt so damned confused! James was a fine boyfriend. Good in bed and he was there for her.
Uhm. Mostly.
And yeah! Landon was taken, by Katy. Her friend.
So this was stupid!
Stephanie inhaled sharply and looked up at him, she knew him all too well. This had happened many a time in the beginnnig of their relationship. Steph wasn't very trusting until later on. And now, she was back to her old ways.
Without Landon, she altered. Most ways, not for the good.
Her eyes locked on his baby blues and she found herself wanting to look away, but unable to at the same time.
"I'm okay. I promise." She made sure to keep her hands still, falling into her lap. And her eyes straight.
And sure, she could fool the naked eye. But Landon, she doubted that if he remembered the hair thing that he'd fall for this one.

Landon had kept her hand in his too long for it to be merely taking it away from her hair. And after he pulled away, he could still feel the warmth from her fingers, his mind wanting to go into so much more detail.
At first, he didn't answer her question either, just waiting, looking down into her enchanting eyes that caught him so, all those years ago.... they still did. But he was waiting for her answer.
She looked up at him, readying herself it seemed, and then said it. Sounded real enough, but he just didn't buy it. Something was right, and yet, she had done what he asked.
A moment longer he held her eyes, then sighed, looking down.
"Just... just because we're not together, doesn't mean I stopped l-caring." Landon forced himself to breeze, because freezing up would have brought even more attention to his near slip. You just, you don't say that to your ex that's dating someone else, AND when you have a current girlfriend.
He stood up suddenly, "I'm going for a swim" he announced hurriedly, and ran off, diving off the deep end. Running away maybe. But he couldn't face her right now. He REALLY needed to cool off, and it felt good, momentarily drowning everything else away, as he floated under water, as if he was in his own little world.
Couldn't last long however, when you had to come up for air, which he did after 30 or so seconds, facing the shallow end.**************************************** As soon as forever is through

Move along, move along like I know you do.. James' eyes were practically glued to the TV screen by now. Yeah, might not have been much before, but they were both so obvious! He hated to see it, but he couldn't look away.
No, he had to watch every sign, gesture, hear every word, tone, that came from the two of them.
Damn good thing Katy wasn't watching... Landon was so tender with her, making James scowl when he simply touched her hand. And her reaction too! Not much on the surface, but.... Well, James would have liked it much better if she had slapped his hand away.
Katy passed through, but didn't stop. He glanced her way before looking back at the screen.
She was out of the room when Landon said something and dashed off for the ******** this.
James turned the TV off, knowing he would regret not seeing Stephanie's response, but no, he just didn't want to know despite his avid curiosity.
He was staring at the blank TV screen when Kaitlyn came back out, and had to wrench himself away from it to look over at her, and the paper in her hand, not saying a word. No, he just looked at her, thinking of how she would feel if she had just watched that, and the way Landon had been with HIS girlfriend.
And how he did.
And the "plan" by the ******** that ran the place. Yeah. He knew, it was so obvious. ********>

Now it was awkward. What are they going to do. They were trapped in this bungalow till the weekend is over. And well, she didn't know what to do. She wanted Landon! Her hand reached up to brush her fingers across the heart necklace, but only skin was there. Oh right, she took it off. She put the paper down, and went to the couch, sitting down. Of course she was thrilled to see James. Just not under these circumstances.
Her eyes glanced over at James for a moment, then back to the ground in front of her. Well, cause he was still half naked, only if one thought that way, which she did. He looked good. So much more, grown up. Less childish. James was so adorable in high school, and he grew hotter and hotter every year it seemed. But she couldn't be thinking about that. She had a boyfriend, and she trusted him.
He wouldn't hurt her. Landon cared for her, didn't he? Of course... They've been dating a while. But, still, the look on his face on the t.v. and his reaction was nothing compared to Jame's. James really was a faithful and loyal guy. Landon was that way, he proven that to her time and time again. But now, when it mattered most to her, nothing.
Glancing back up at James, she asked him softly. "What do we do now..?' Kaitlyn was terrified again. She wanted to believe everything would be alright, and nothing would go wrong. But it was just wasn't happening. She was mainly afraid to be alone...

Stephanie had to pull her eyes away from Landons. It was killing her. He was killing her, with those damn blue eyes..
God, that was one of the reasons she fell so hard for him.
Wait. What had he just almost said? She looked up at him, her head snapping up.
"Wait.. what?" She jumped up as he jumped into the pool. When he came up, he was facing the other direction. She sighed and dove into the pool, cold!
But it only lasted a minute then she was coming up behind him. She moved to face him.
"You don't just do that. You can't just walk away in the middle of something like that." She sighed softly.
"What.. I.. Why do you care? I dumped you, I hurt you didn't I? I mean.. Why would you care about me?"
Yeah, she still felt horrible about dumping him. And not telling him about Hayley but that was all for his own good!!! Ugh!
Why did he have to be here and ******** with her brain even more?!

Landon just let the water drip down from his hair and over his eyes, standing there. Before he came around to moving, he heard a splash behind him and closed his eyes for a moment. For some reason, he had hoped she wouldn't follow him. Of course she did. Of course.
This... this just wasn't the time... 6, 6 years ago, that was the time, now it is, should be, too late, for any of this.
At first, her words just bit. Reminding him too much of that. But then... He actually got angry, just in a different way. It didn't change how he felt, but he was mad nonetheless.
She was facing him, and his expression was set.
"I can't walk out in the middle of that? Did you really just say that? What about what you walked out on?" his voice wasn't harsh or accusing, just low, maybe a little disbelieving.
"Yeah. You hurt me. When you dumped me. And you hurt me when you wouldn't tell me why, when you wouldn't take my calls, and avoided me."
He wasn't even looking away. No, he was looking right at her, determined to finally get this out, now that they were face to face, and alone. And since she had to bring it up.
"It drove me crazy when I thought everything was going so well, and I didn't know what I did wrong, and you wouldn't tell me, wouldn't let me try and fix it. I finally just figured you met someone else. I was away at college, couldn't see you as often as I liked, it made sense. Guess I was right too, even if that didn't go so well either..." he trailed off and shrugged.
That was in reference to whoever the hell Hayley's dad was.
By now, Landon guessed that she left him for someone else, and that's what became of it. Maybe the a*****e left when he found out he got her pregnant. He hated people like that. Just ditch their family, their child, how selfish can you be, really?
And well, he had said to her what he had wanted to say and he was done. This was too much, far too much, and like this.
He dove under the water, deliberately, rather then suddenly, as if saying that was all, and swam away, back to the shallow end and walked up the stairs.
Without looking back he said "I never stopped, it's not that easy."
Towel in hand, he went back to the gate, planning to scale the damned thing if the guy locked it behind him. Heart pounding, after saying such things to her, he had to get out of there.
Go back to his room maybe.**************************************** As soon as forever is through

Stephanie listened. Each word stung more than the one before it. She winced. He was right, she walked out on them. On what they had. Everything they had.
And before she could find the words to speak he dove under water and appeared by the stairs. She felt a tear sting her eyes before she ran after him.
Mind you running in water was not easy. But he was frozen at the gate, locked. She sprinted across the cement, nearly falling flat on her a** more than once.
And she thought she was actually going to make it to him without tripping but her foot caught in a crack, sending her falling at him. She smacked into his back with an, "Oof," Before righting herself and looking up at him.
"I walked out on your for your own damned good Landon. I wasn't going to ruin your ******** future. You were at college, you needed a girl that could be there for you, stand by you. And not get in your way."
She shook her head and sighed. "You think I wanted to let the best thing that ever happened to me go? No, of course not. But I was so not dragging you down with me."
Her voice caught as she stared up at the Landon she had grown to love, to let into her life. He had her everything. Still did too.
Her nose burned, her skin tingled and her stomach was in knots. When she realized what she was getting at she bit down on her lip and looked away.
"But thats okay, I deserve this. Walk away." She backed away from him. "I'm not sure whats going on here, or how far you'll get but Katy has got to be better for you than I am."
Yeah, she probably wouldn't get knocked up and almost ruin his entire life.

Landon took a deep breath, yeah, she was coming. He could hear the splash of the water, then the wet pad of feet, and he couldn't get out, not easily anyway.
Although, he still hadn't expected to be sent stumbling forward, almost into the gate when she tripped, falling right into him.
She straightened up, and he had little time to turn around, but again with that incredulous look on his face. What the hell was she talking about?
As she went on, his expression became confused on top of it.
"What the hell are you talking about??? Ruin my future? I thought you were my future!" He shook his head back and forth. He didn't understand this at all, what she said made no sense at all.
Stephanie started to back away...
"Your not making any sense. I could have left you when I got into college, like so many other assholes, and had a girlfriend I got to see everyday, hell, I had plenty of opportunities. Or I could have cheated on you like so many others did. If I wanted."
He stepped closer, "But all I wanted was you. The guys made fun of me for it." Landon sighed, "You deserve the best."
Ah, but then she got him there. Katy. It amazed and ashamed him with how little he'd thought of her while having this conversation with Stephanie.
"Katy.... Katy is my first serious relationship since you. That's almost 6 years." yeah, so much for her "need someone to stand by him" theory.
"I thought I had moved on by then. Everything was going great with her..." you could hear the but without him even saying it. Not too mention his accidental use of past tense, without thinking about it.
"I didn't know how wrong I was until you came back into the picture, boyfriend or no. It's not fair. I love Katy! I do! But I just... I never..." Was he gonna say it?
"I never stopped loving you." **************************************** As soon as forever is through

Stephanie swallowed.
Her lips trembled. She couldn't tell him! No, she just couldn't. Six years, he was right. She had kept this secret from everyone, apart from her late grandmother, for six years.
That was a track record.
She didn't want his money, didn't need his help, she had it all under control and he was off being happy without her. And without a kid as a priority.
"Dammit Landon! I wanted nothing more than to be your entire future." She felt the lump in her throat grow and she had to keep swallowing to speak.
"You're right. You could have left me, should have left me. Those oppurtunities were something I kept you from takling." She bit her bottom lip hard.
She had known he had had plenty of other offers, she worried over them constantly back then. "No. I don't deserve the best. I don't deserve anything."
Her voice cracked.
Katy, he loved her. Sure, he hadn't had any serious relationships in about six years. But hell, neither had she! No one really wanted a girl with a kid. Too much baby daddy drama and such.
Wait. Was?
She listened to the rest and then her heart came alive again, still sunken into her stomach.
"Landon, you can't love me. You have to stop. Its bad, I'm bad. You can't... its just..." She sighed.
"You're going to med school to become a freaking doctor." Stephanie looked up at him again, into his eyes.
"I won't chance ruining that for you. Not again."
Right. Putting yourself through med school and raising a kid? That was not cheap stuff.
"No matter if I love you still or not."

Move along, move along like I know you do.. James continued to watch Kaitlyn, while at the same time wishing he hadn't been such a goddamn coward and turned the TV off. Stupid. He might as well have kept going, then he would at least know what was going on.
But now that she was in the room, he wouldn't do it, just in case. You never knew what was happening now anyway.
"Hm?" His eyes had spaced out, looking passed her, and now alighted on her again. And why was it that the first thing that popped into his mind was something dirty?
Not that he was serious or anything, but he almost answered, would have been joking of course, with something like that.
Well! He was locked in a confined space with an incredibly hot girl that he obviously still had feelings for! Not his fault something like that came to mind...
"Um... I don' t know... Are you hungry? Tired? Uh, what all is here?" Had to do something to pass the time. Not to mention to distract their minds, from thinking about Stephanie or Landon.
James already had a sinking feeling about them anyway. And there was still the whole weekend ahead of them. ..And even when your hope is gone

After David got done talking to Andrew, he left for the back room, to control what exactly got fed into the bungalow where the other two are staying. This was going to be amusing. He just started off with the basic feed on how they met, nothing overly important. But then it said someone turned off the t.v. in the bungalow.
To that he smirked. He continued to watch and listen to Stephine and Landon, then it got juicy. They should be listening to this. So an audio feed was sent to the t.v. On the screen it appeared to have waves that moved with sound that came out. He started off when Landon said something to the effect that Stephine was his future. Oh man, he felt bad a little bit, only a little.
Maybe the other girl is hotter then the blond one, he would go see if he can get some sympathy action. Cause he hadn't been laid in two days, and it was starting to catch up with him. Oh man, and then they said they still loved each others. That's gotta sting.

Kaitlyn thought about if she was hungry. But she wasn't the type of girl that ate when she was upset. She never ate when she was upset. Shaking her head slightly, food was out of the question. Her head snapped up when she heard Landon's voice. Who was he talking about? As the voices continues, her heart slowly began to ache. He loved Kaitlyn. But he was talking about Kaitlyn like they were already over, past tense, she didn't like it. Then she heard it, that he loved Steph still.
And she loved him. Then why the hell was she still in the picture. When James left her, it put Kaitlyn in a state of shock that it took thirty minutes for her to move, by that time he was gone, no matter how hard she searched for him. She didn't want to give up without a fight. But now it felt like she had been punched in the stomach, a blank stare on her face. She couldn't let this happen. She couldn't loose Landon. He was all she had! She loved him damn it, and he... He... He is leaving....
Kaitlyn had to get to him, springing off the couch without thinking, she headed towards the door. Yanking with all of her might... "No... No... Please..." She was having a breakdown. She couldn't take this. She needed to see Landon, set him straight. He can't have two girls, only one. When the door didn't seem to be moving any, she went to a window, trying to pry it open. Kaitlyn will be damned if she is too late to get to Landon. She didn't want to loose him like she lost James. She was more quick to react, but it was all in vain.
"Landon... Stop it..." Yeah, she was crying. Maybe if she broke the glass. And opened the door from the outside she can get out. Picking up a vase, she smashed the window, small pieces of glass shattering everywhere. Her arm went through the opening, getting small cuts alone her arm. Even with outstretched fingers, she couldn't reach it. "Damn it!" She had to reach it! Kaitlyn needed to get out!
Slowly she started to feel the pain in her arm, and then she felt nothing. Her whole body went numb. This was horrible. Shaking slightly she pulled her arm back before leaning against the wall and slid down to the floor. Tears were streaming down her cheeks, it was only going to get worse from here. What a b*****d! How could he do this to her?
She brought up her legs and put her head between them, using her knees to cover her ears. Arms resting against the top of her head. Blood trickling down her arm, into her hair and onto her clothes. She didn't care. Her world exploded. Those simple words directed towards another person, and her feeling the same just killed her on the inside. Katy didn't know what to do anymore, other then sit there and cry.
