He watched Rick cautiously, playing chess with the man now, trying to think twelve moves ahead of him. It was difficult, seeing how he was only working with the general state of Rick's being at the moment.

"That's why we want to take him to Synthic," Lily said, in exasperation. It made perfect sense to her, why couldn't he see it? "She used to be the top scientist in the Academy, until she left. She's the best person to find a cure, and if she has Rick, her cousin, she can cure all the infected."

He nodded. He held out his left arm, the clockwork one. "I'm afraid it'd be built from this at the first. Don't worry, it moves rather smooth." He folded his arms slightly. The other male's name didn't ring any bells to him, none at all. "I need.. a less incompetent general. Someone who can lead, and isn't afraid of power."

Lily sighed as Jesse ignored her pleas. She looked to Rick. The man who had caused her, Kir, Lydia and countless others so much trouble and pain...
Lydia's mechanical mind registered from Lily's body language that things were not going their way. Her body glowed with magic as she prepared for a fight.

Their master may have stopped paying attention, but the Dreadknights holding him had their full attention trained on him. They were rather like golems, the trick wasn't in getting them to do something, it was getting them to stop. No soul to call their own, no boredom, so they'd go on doing what they were told until they were told to stop. They'd been told to hild Rick, so the man would not be moving.

Rick grinned as he activated a magic circle engraved into his back with Rick's own blood. He vanished from sight, "Sorry folks! You had your chance!" His disembodied voice echoed through the airship just as it burst into flames.
"Sensei!" Pre stood next to her teacher and used a weak barrier to keep him from getting hurt.

He shrugged. "Temporary measure until I can search my books for something more suitable. You could take command of a Dreadknight instead, during the interim." He smiled a bit. He swore, batting aside the barrier, changing it's purpose to protect everyone else. He didn't need the protection from the flames. "Get outside, quickly!" He growled, turning to Lilly. "If you hadn't delayed us with your noble, foolish ideas, and playing at being soldiers, he would have been sealed in a magic-proof room, being bound and destroyed! This is your fault!" His voice was quiet, but he still shouted all the same.
The knights blinked, and looked down, their hands had dissappeared with Rick.

Lydia's reaction was immediate. She blasted a hole in the ceiling above them and she with the people inside her barrier shot towards the hole to escape the flames.
"If you had just seen the logical choice, then he would be with Synthic now," Lily said, with a shrug. His words didn't faze her at all, even as she was propelled up by Lydia.

Melody's body was protected by the barrier she was in, so he didn't need to worry. Melody's arm suddenly reached up as the barrier began pulling them away however. She suddenly pulled the blue necklace she was wearing off and Durithill's book out of her pockets and threw the both of them at one of the dreadknights. As she did, she could feel Durithill's mind being torn from hers at it left. The necklace hit the dreadknight first and seemed to stick to its armor as it reached out a hand and caught the book Durithill had thrown with Melody's body. "He can't have gone too far." Durithill said with a small chuckle, this time with the voice of the dreadknight instead of Melody's. It was odd being in a new body again, and particularly one so bulky. "It was an emergency spell. A few miles at the most, probably. And it should be easy to trace. Or are you lacking in the casting department?" he said with a small laugh as the dreadknight he know inhabited turned to look at Jesse. He snickered softly. "The... portal at Deralo Castle is.. mostly my fault." He shook his head, adjusting his armor. "So no, I'm not lacking in the casting department, and I've had four and a half universes worth of time to practice."
