Seeing Carlyle, Isaac also began to turn away. Then, his mind caught on something, and he stopped. Filled with a determination that he had never known, Isaac marched up behind Carlyle in line.
He tapped Carlyle on the shoulder, and when the man was turning he cranked up his strength augs as high as they could go. He turned off every other aspect that he had, focusing all of his energy into two things: his strength augs, and the punch that he was throwing at the turning Carlyle's jaw.
When it hit, Carlyle was thrown to the ground. Before he could get up, Isaac stepped forward, shadow falling over him. Isaac looked straight down into his eyes and said, "Just because I'm not a cynic a*****e who can't hold anything sacred or respect anyone does not make you superior to me. If I have to fight you to get respect from you, fine. But I am not going to just let you walk all over me. If you won't be my friend, then you'll be my teammate. I have no problem thinking of you as nothing more than a comrade. But you had better start giving me some respect."
Isaac cracked his knuckles and walked away, head high. Once out of sight, he would undoubtedly break down into shivering and freaking out. He needed to find Ty now.

Despite casually thrown glances dredged from the amorous depths of allure, swishes of hair and glints of the very eyes of Eros, Ty found that his age would this time repel all those in the city afraid their inescapably human lust for immortality that inevitably surfaced in a hunger for youthful vitality vicarious, illusive, or otherwise, would be found out by those on constant watch for any being to ostensibly prove their inferiority.
His consciousness, of course, merely registered, This bed is empty. Tomorrow is another day, and he went on.
He walked down the streets of morning with a cheerful smile, the sunlight turning his hair to glimmering gold. Ty, having never heard of King Minos, had no fear of the potentially resultant heavy metal poisoning. His thoughts were fairly scarce, mostly turning to memorizing the smells of the place, pinpointing the cafés and diners, and having to turn around once after forgetting his weaponry.
He met up with Cassandra after a brisk jog back and forth, and waved happily when he saw her before catching up. "Hey, Cass! Sleep well?"

Carlyle stared at Isaac as he left, feeling his jaw. A dull pounding ache in his jaw indicated it would probably need healing. Nothing major, but enough that he'd have difficulty talking until he got that done, he mused.
"H- augh," he choked out. The clockwork knight had more strength than the unaugmented Carlyle could match. He has more of a backbone than I thought he would, Carlyle finished the thought silently. He pushed himself to his feet, still cradling his jaw, and opened the gate to the military complex, hoping he'd have time to see a healer before whatever was happening happened.

Cassandra gave Ty a "what the hell do you think?" sort of look. It was pretty obvious how well she had slept, given the unkempt hair, the dark rings under her eyes, the wrinkled clothing it didn't appear she had even bothered changing out of - there were no words necessary.
"Ironically, it wasn't because of my breakdown," she told Ty, cracking her neck. "Insomnia of the basest form."

Isaac saw Ty and Cassanda ahead. Finally!
He hurried over. "T-t-t-t-t-Ty I did something b-b-bad!" He looked at Cassandra, too shaken up to notice her current attire. "H-hi C-c-c-Cass." He looked like he was about to fall over.

Cassandra stepped forward, not actually grabbing hold of Isaac (she actually wasn't particularly clear on if that would be harmful to herself), but standing where she could catch him if he began to fall. "Holy hell, what happened to you?" she asked him. "Did you kill someone or something?"

Isaac shook his head, getting himself cleared and centered. It took a moment.
"I just...gave Carlyle a piece of my m-mind. I think things will be better fr-from now on." He looked over his shoulder. "Hey, let's h-head to the ship."

In a few minutes, Cassandra, Ty, Isaac, and Carlyle (who had arrived ahead and had his jaw fixed) were in the briefing room... with about eight others, not counting Captain Camille and CL_Triton.
"Hello, everyone," the captain stated as the last three walked in. "We've been tasked with a special mission straight from the Magus-General. We leave in half an hour to make a... sensitive delivery."
Rose walked in, followed by a shackled Dremmeur Sai. Her scarred face and furious expression showed just how she felt about the task.
"We're keeping this mission small. We can't let the other factions know we're doing this. We'll-"
"Just take me back already," Dremmeur Sai interrupted quietly. He had dark circles under his eyes. It seemed he hadn't slept well last night.
"Right. If anyone has a problem or a question, speak up now," Camille continued, a little thrown-off by Sai's interruption.

"To be clear," Isaac said, "we're taking him home, yeah?"

Cassandra seemed a little overcome by shock for the first few seconds upon the realization of their cargo and mission. "And... where is home, and why do you need all of us for this? Can't it be done... without us?" she asked hesitantly. This seemed like a bad idea. Why would they set up rookies on this sort of assignment? "We aren't... the only ones available for this, are we? Or did he..." She trailed off. Had he realized the identity of everyone who had heard about this? Was this some sort of punishment for their misbehavior? Cassandra fell silent, her face almost unnoticeably paler.

"No, you're taking me to a farm since your new home in the city doesn't allow ownership of dogs, cats, or large fire-breathing Outlanders," Dremmeur Sai replied, smiling weakly.
Camille glanced at Sai. "Uh, no. Er. Yes. We're taking him back to the Outlander Territory. We're taking him to one of their Oceania bases, to be specific. We're not taking the Triumphant through their Crossover territory." She blinked and rubbed her eyes. "We're not expecting trouble, though, from Sai or from any other sources, but Sai specifically said he wanted those involved in his, er, rescue from the Tygani ship, that is, you, to be there."
It dawned on them who the others were. One was one of the shadow mages who had sent them back up to the ship; the others, they vaguely recalled having been seen on the ship - on the bridge, managing the equipment like the radar and the engines.
Then that meant the four of them (and perhaps the shadow mage) were the ones who'd been asked for.

Isaac nearly choked on the honor. "Th-thank you, Sai sir. I'm sure we'll, ah, get you back safe."

"If anything comes up, anyway," Carlyle added with a smile. Isaac is so inconsistent. At least he never fails to suck up to authority, wherever he finds it.

Oh, it was Sai who had asked for them. Good, good. That made more sense.
"I suppose... it's an honor?" she muttered, paleness replaced with a mild flush. She supposed that Sai might be drawing them into a trap of some variety, but if that were true he would bring with him the Magus-General and his Director of Ops, not a bunch of low-level footsoldiers. He just wanted friends to take him home, apparently. Or perhaps to ensure that someone was there to tell the story properly, to help keep him safe from overzealous Coven field commanders. If they ran into any.

"Aww, you'll feel better in a bit. Get some caffeine in your system - that'll cheer you up." And then Isaac came running up, apparently out of breath and in quite the state of shock.
"Whoa, calm down, man." The Clockie sure got worked up a lot. But at least the reasoning was sound. Ty patted him on the back. "Nice! Nothing like a little rough-and-tumble to warm up in the morning."
They made their way to the ship. Ty started bouncing on the balls of his feet when he heard about their mission. We get to transport an awesome person! "Cool!" he breathed. No thoughts of betrayal even entered his mind. Sai won. Sai was, in fact, full of win.
"When do we start?" he asked excitedly. "If we have to fight someone can we let him join in? 'Cuz he was really cool last time."
