Caroline, emboldened, returns the gesture. This time she threads her hand up through Voltaire's hair and tightens in a rather possessive way. Her heart beats wildly, almost so she thinks it would jump out of her breast any moment now.
Rojiza yawns and clambers into bed. She blows out the candle, and then pulls the thick, warm blanket over all three of them, settling down to sleep.

His arms, in turn, wrap almost possessively about Caroline's kiss as he also becomes emboldened by her return gesture. It doesn't take long after that before the night dissolves into something hopefully special for the both of them...
Annjette didn't take long to fall asleep as the warmth of the blankets settled into her form. She was with friends and happy for it...

The morning sunlight falls across Caroline's face, and she pulls the blanket up over her head, unwilling to yield to morning's embrace. Morning inevitably wins, however, and she finally sighs and opens her eyes. Yawning, she blinks against a sunbeam and notices Voltaire sleeping beside her. She smiles slowly and curls up against him again. She draws lazy circles on his chest with a forefinger, and drops a kiss on his cheek. "I was almost worried it was just a dream," she murmurs to the thick morning air as she nestles her face against his neck and shoulder.

He had been in between the realms of sleep and awake. Voltaire was aware of the form moving about next to him and suddenly it was seemingly much closer and there were fingertips upon his chest doing a bit of tracery and then a kiss upon his cheek. One cyan eye opened fully and peered over at the face of his lover and he gave a small smile in reply.
Oddly enough it didn't suddenly turn awkward between them. He didn't feel uncomfortable as he had fancied a time or two he would if such a thing would have happened. Lightly an arm draped about her to hold her to him. "Apparently it is not, though this does bring up a new question for us," he replied with sleep heavy in his voice.

Caroline's little nose wrinkles up. She buries her face in his shoulder. "Och, I dinna want to ask it just now," she mumbles against his skin. She holds him a little tighter, her hair in sort of a sleepy halo around her head. She drops another kiss while she's so close. Just because. "The morning is far too lovely to spoil with consequences."

Voltaire let out a small sigh followed by a chuckle, "I agree..." He said idly with a bit of a yawn after his statement. He didn't want to think about it but he knew the conversation would come up before they got up and he saw her off to her separate wagon. It was one of those things that happened when one lived in such a tight knit community.
Of course there came the thought of 'what would the others think' that echoed through his mind. It was a thought he quietly worked to quash.

Caroline, too, tries to quell all the thoughts and questions popping up in her mind. Unfortunately it doesn't work. She sighs a little sigh, her breath curling over his chest. She lifts her chin slightly and addresses him. "I do fancy you, you know," she says softly. She looks slightly away and at the wall with a sigh. "I s'pose we do have to think about this now..."

"And I fancy you," he replied simply without hesitation. It was the one thing he didn't need to think about or worry over. That was the one thing he knew for certain. He liked Caroline and he always had. Just now their relationship had changed or perhaps evolved.
"I don't care what the others think but I don't want you to suffer for it, I guess...Not that you strike me as the type to care..."

Caroline's face splits in a grin. She nearly laughs with joy. It never comes out of her mouth, but happiness explodes in her eyes. "Aye," she says after a moment, "I'm not the type to care much what other think. An' I'm sure the rest o' the caravan will be happy for you an' I....us....but even if I wasna, and even if they condemned us for it, it wouldna matter." She smiles up at him, deliriously happy. She'd wished for this for so long. For love, and love returned. It's even better than she'd imagined. Caroline takes Voltaire's hand in hers and closes her eyes. Everything is perfect.

He simply smiled at Caroline, glad that she was made happy by his acceptance and equally glad that she had accepted him. Voltaire held her hand before he released the hand and moved to wrap his arms around her, a small kiss was planted on her forehead.
"We should tell the children at least?" It didn't seem right to leave the children out of the news, the rest of the Caravan could hopefully figure it out on their own by visual clues if not word-of-mouth.

"Aye," agrees Caroline, trying to float back down to earth. "The children. I imagine they'll be delighted. Makes them nye sisters, eh?" She snuggles into him, pulling the blanket up to her chin to ward off the cool morning air. "How shall we go about it, then?"

He gave a small nod as he listened and then shifted a shoulder in a shrug, "We should just tell them and be straight. The girls are old enough to understand and if we blanket it or make it confusing it would possibly frighten the small one." Voltaire shrugged.
"Yes, I think we just tell them that we have ... Taken a fondness for each other, and decided to court each other."

Caroline nods. "I think that's wise," she agrees. Glancing at the day outside, she groans and turns over. "An' I suppose we should be doing it sooner rather than later...else they'll come over here to wake us..."

Voltaire laughed at that and started to sit up, "That we should. We want them to know but not quite like this," he said playfully to her as he gave her a small nudge upon the side.
