"Can I co-" Cat's distant voice began, but she cut herself off. "Never-mind," she continued after a second, sounding more than a little petulant. Damn that Demon! ... A little redundant, but so what?

Spider-man said. "That's okay, Cat, like I said, I'm just going back to the apartment for some gear, I'll be right back." And with that, Peter turned and got a running start out of the door, which culminated in a graceful leap onto a webline.

Danny looked at Black Cat, hiding his crestfallen feelings at her wanting to go with Spider-Man. 'Told you so...' said that voice in the back of his head. "Okay, when's the Doctor gonna wake up?", he said, trying to fill the silence that Spider-Man's comments and jokes usually filled.
Rorschach and Wolverine both remained silent, with the exception of the occasional grumble from Logan, over not being able to smoke still.
[enter the Phantom Stranger from New York City]
The Phantom Stranger walked up to what appeared to be an office building. This building, however, had several strong magical properties, a great many protection and warding spells. Much work went into its concealment, dwarfing even the effort of the Tower of Fate. Despite their intricacy, however, they were still no match for him. He disappeared from the outside, and reappeared just outside a door. This was unexpected. It would appear that further work still had been put into the owner's personal quarters. Impressive. Such dedication was worthy of a more polite introdiction. The Stranger knocked on the bedroom door of Doctor Strange.
(( Wong is NOT going to like that... And I'm sorry if that seems wrong, but the Stranger has a habit of simply intruding on people's lives when he needs them. It would not occur to him to treat anyone from this new Universe any different. The fact that Strange is getting a KNOCK is pretty big ))

Cat leaned back against the wall, crossing her arms. "I have no idea. Who wants to try waking him up? Are we drawing straws?"

The door did not open, but a very annoyed Wong walked up from some other part of the house. "I do not know who let you in, but the doctor can not be disturbed at the moment. Can I help you?"

The Phantom Stranger looked at the Asian man, and said, "I let myself in. Tell me, who lives here?"

The orange tabby cat awoke from her slumber and yes she was still a cat. The catty feline jumped down from off the couch and stalked down the hall to Strange's room.
It's now or never..

"I am a Stranger, nothing more," the Phantom Stranger replied. "I seek the aid of all available magic users, to aid in the repair of the Universes. There are some already aware of my purpose, from my own Universe, that can be contacted with this." A card was in the Stranger's hand, though there was no movement of reaching for one. He handed it to Wong, saying, "Give this to Doctor Steven Strange. It details how he may reach these other people. I cannot stay at present. There are many footsteps left on my journey. Inform Doctor Strange that I shall see him, soon. Before I leave, there is one other in this building. One who is filled with demonic magic. Take me to this person, please."

Wong, who's expression had returned to one of calm politeness, nodded. "Of course. Please follow me." Turning, he made his way back to the living room. "Excuse me, Ms. Hardy. Ah, Daniel. There is someone who wishes to speak with you."

The Phantom Stranger followed Wong, and soon was in a room filled with people. All save one of them were of no concequence to his purpose, but there was one who he would need a word with. One other than this Daniel. Other than the Spirit that resides within him.
Danny turned around when Wong called for him, hoping to see the Doctor, but was disappointed to see a man dressed in blue, with a hat that overshadowed his eyes. "Who are you, and what do you need?"
The Stranger replied, "Daniel Ketch, I am here to ask for your aid in the crisis, to repair our separate Universes, as well as the others that have been dragged here against their own accord."
"Well," said Danny, "If it's going to take me away from dealing with Azazel, you can count me out, right there." Danny looked at Black Cat for the briefest of moments, then said, "I made a promise."
The Stranger said, "When the time comes, you will not have a choice. If you do not find me, I will find you." Then, he looked at Black Cat, with a gaze that was piercing, as if it allowed him to see into her very soul. "I need to speak with you as well, Black Cat." He was beginning to get a feel for the magics of this other Universe.

Black Cat blinked. "What? Why?" She glanced at Wong for some kind of clue, but got nothing from his serene face. "I can't do anything about the Universes. At all."

The Stranger said to her, "You have more to do with it than you know. You will come to a choice. That choice can determine the course of this Multiverse's existence. You must choose wisely. The one who is lost may not be lost forever."

Cat scowled. "Cryptic much? You sound just like Strange, I swear. What choice? I'm going to tell you right now, I'm not renowned for my good sense. Couldn't you give the choice to... Spider-man? He's all about responsibility. Or how about Daredevil? " The idea that the future of the Multiverse's existence might be determined by something she did... Well, it made her feel intensely uncomfortable.
