Donovan's friends chuckled and winked, as they let him alone with the well known talkative Tom. "Donovan," he said with a lopsided grin. He didn't feel like talking but her hyper-ness was slightly inviting so he took her hand and shook it. Plus she didn't seem to know about that summers unpleasantness. "We have been in class together for a couple of years now," he said his slight Irish accent poking through. "Everyone knows your trickster nature."
"You can't live your life wondering if," Gabi said with smile. "If I know her I can giver he a friendly push in your direction." Was he talking about her Tom? Or someone else? Gabi's brow frowned as she moved away.
((In Gabi's defense she doesn't know about his liking for her. She more thinks he wants to date Tom.))

After leaving the library, Derek was making his way down the staircases. Suddenly, the staircase shifted beneath his feet, making his stumble and fall flat on his face in front of a few girls. He groaned, pulling up and looking up. He felt warm blood trickling out of his nose, and instantly felt embarrassed. The girls he'd fallen in front of tittered and walked away, gossipping about how clumsy Derek was.

Tom nodded trying to plant his name into her memory. "It' nice to meet you Don." She grinned and took her hand back. "And I have no idea what you mean by my 'trickster nature' I though it was more along the lines of 'playful' or 'imaginative', or at the very least, 'easily amused'." She chuckled and slipped her hand into her pocket pulling out a tin of mints, she picked one up and stuck it on her tongue then offered him one. "Candy?" she asked.

"Donny if your going to shorten it," Donovan said politely and took the candy. He grinned at her hoping this wouldn't do anything to much to him. Who knows it may not do anything at all? He popped the candy in his mouth and chewed. A couple of Ravenclaw girls gasped as he talked with Tom, they all thought he had sworn of girls.
"Of course dear," Gabi said patting his leg. "Now this bet with Tom how much longer do you have to win it?"

Tom smiled when he actually took one of the mints, She closed the tin and put it back into her pocket, he would be bright green by the end of class. Tom discreetly spit her own mint into a handkerchief and laughed. "Well then it's nice to meet you Donny." She tucked her handkerchief into her pocket. "Are you particularly fond of the color green my new friend?" She was just trying to make conversation, and it seemed natural to bring up the color he would be for the rest of the day.

The question made Donovan instantly regret taking the candy. Knowing that something with green was going to make his life a little more difficult was about to arise. Deciding not to give her the pleasure of him getting upset he swollowed the candy saying cockily, "Love it friend." Knowing that one of his friends couple probably reverse the spell or at least get him looking a little more normal.

"You can't be too nervous," Gabi said getting up and exploring her new surroundings. "Unless Tom pulls tricks."

“Terrific.” Tom laughed and patted his shoulder. She tilted back in her chair, one foot hooked under the table to ensure that she would not fall. “Where you from Donny-my-man?” She folded her arms behind her head comfortably. She had slept funny on her shoulder and it was being bothersome.

"Limerick, Ireland," he said looking over to her. He felt like sweeping the chair from under her. Looking at his hands he could see that his finger tip turning green. But keeping a cool head he asked, "And you Tom?"

Tom Nodded. "Cute. I'm from Derby." She leaned back just a little bit more. She glanced at his hands and saw that her trick was starting to work, a grin encapsulated her face and she laughed. "You’re such a good sport Donny boy." She rolled her shoulder slightly and closed her eyes sighing. "But Now's I've got a place over the joke shop on the Diagon Ally. It's nicer than one would expect, but not much."

"Do you want help with the bum shoulder?" he said with a smile. Even though he was going to turn green because of this wench didn't mean he couldn't be nice. Telling himself it was part of his training to be more adult he smiled.
