[Your choice.] ----- "Oh, right." Flint said, grinning sheepishly, though he voice was still the deep one (Think the black guy from Underworld 1 and 3.), and the sheepish tone didn't really fit it. He looked over at Mike, concerned. Did they expect an aerial battle? The thought made Flint grab the spine he was holding even tighter. If it came to that, he would be hard pressed to stay on. As a joke, he kept the voice on as he spoke. "I hope you aren't expecting a fight. I don't know if I could stay on back here." he said.

(Sure, but let's have an a little aerial skirmish. My guy can handle it, I just feel like showing off a little bit.)
Mike didn't look towards Flint. He kept his eyes forward, focusing on his other senses instead of sight.
"It's not that I expect a battle, it's just that I expect this trip to be a dangerous one. After all, a powerful demon is bound to have a plentiful amount of lesser minions."

((The fight will come after the time skip. It'll be a 3 week jump.))
Three weeks past and they had reached the foothills of the mountains. Ashe loved the freedom of traveling, and with her two friends, made it much more bearable. With them she didn't need to hide her form, save when they past the occasional village. Though this morning she had a nagging feeling in the back of her head. The land around her looked familiar. She constantly move her head from side to side, looking to see if she could find a landmark to tell her where she was, flying somewhat slower than normal. "..."

Flint was asleep on Ashe's back. Weeks of travelling and with nothing to do up there made him a little bored, and as a result, he slept quite a bit. Something roused him though. Maybe it was the slowing of the wind whipping past his face. After a quick snore, which sounded quite pathetic from such a small person, he opened his eyes and looked at the back of Ashe's head. "What's up, we're flying slower than usual." he commented.

(Gotcha. I have some bitchin' ideas on how to end this wonderfully. I'll share them with you since you also control Shiango)
Three weeks of flying with a heavy bag proved to be quite an effort. There was a break every couple of days, but still, Mike's wings were quite strained. He now kept himself to gliding, riding the draft that came off of Ashe's wings. It was easy to glide on and kept him up with the group without tiring him out.
Mike had kept his senses tuned the whole time, putting a strain on his mind as well as his body. Nothing had turned up. Not a demon, not an attack, everything was still in the air. The only demonic sense he could feel was his own. That's how well tuned his senses were. Then, one day, he picked something up. It was small, meaningless and effortless. Then he picked up another, and another. Several more appeared to his senses, and the numbers kept growning at a huge rate. There was a swarm getting closer to him. They were still a few miles away from them, but they were headed towards eachother.
"Ashe...I want you to take the bag." Mike said as he flew close to Ashe's hind legs, offering up the bag to her talons. Ashe couldn't fight with Flint on her back, and Mike couldn't fight with the bag. "Flint, if you have any spells that can hone in on enemies in mid-air get them ready. I get the feeling we may need them soon." He was sure that with his strained wings mixed with a large amount of aerial manuvering he stood a good chance of getting shot out of the air and having to run after Ashe on foot. "No matter what, go forward, with or without me."

Ashe continued to move her head over the rolling hills and the small farms under her. "I have a bad feeling about this place..." She spotted a small village nestled in the hills and groaned. "It's my family's territory..." She sensed two clouds of energy coming their way, one coming on faster than the other. She felt Mike place the pack on one of her hind claws and grasped it. Dropping back so that her head was level with his she growled, "Here comes the welcoming committee."

Flint shook his head when Mike asked about his spells. "Sorry." he said simply, shrugging. "Illusions only, buddy." he explained, then looked at Ashe when she mentioned her family. "This is where your family lives?" he asked. Suddenly he felt smaller than usual: he was, in all likelihood, surrounded by dragons ten times his size. He groaned when she said welcoming committee. A fight...just what he needed.

Mike was disappointed with Flint's answer. Then again, he could make it seem like something was going towards their enemies to throw them off, allowing Mike to easily pick them off. Still, if worse came to worse, Mike could surround Ashe with DarkFire to protect them. It would drastically drain Mike's energy to surround someone else of that size with his flames.
When Mike heard Ashe mention her family he was slightly relieved. That meant that whatever evil he was sensing would be easier to take down. From experience, Mike knew that dragons were strong and proud creatures. Some looked down on any type of mortal there was, when others, much like Ashe, showed compassion and lent them a hand. Mike's only hope was that he wouldn't need to fight Ashe's family. That would get him very powerful enemies and lose the only two friends he had left.

Ashe chuckled at Flint's groan. "Flint, if you thought I was big, you should see my father. I'm still young in the eyes of my kin, and I'm the runt of the nest." Her tone dropped, "Though they don't take to kindly to outsiders and," casting an eye at Mike, "Demons." She looked past the coming dragons to where she sensed the dark force coming. "Though I think Shiango will draw attention away from us soon."
~
Five dragons flew close to the small group. Their coloring ranged from white, the leader, to a dark white/blue mix. "Ashe...It seems you still haven't dropped the bad habit of picking up friends outside our kind," the leader said in a deep voice heavy with disapproval.
~
"Father, it seems that you still have yet to remove the oak tree from your spine..." Ashe replied.
~
The white dragon snorted. "Why couldn't you be like your siblings and find friends with the other dragon kind? Not run off to the Human village to play." His eyes moved to take in the gnome on her back and the shadow to her side. His eyes widened as he realized what the shadow was and roared. "A DEMON! MY OWN DAUGHTER BRINGS A DEMON TO OUR LAND!" The other four dragons swiftly circled around the three.
~
"Shiango...If you have your cronies after us, now would be a good time to get here..." Ashe mumbled to herself. "Flint, hold on tight. I don't want you falling off if it comes to a fight."

"Sorry." Flint said again, seeing Mike's reaction to his explanation of his spells. "Oh great. Just what I needed. Mountain sized dragons that hate outsiders. I'm going to be a toothpick for them." he said, a little pale when he saw the dragons appear. Flint nearly fainted. They where huge. One of the dragons circled close. It stared at him through a large eye as it passed. "Woah-ho there, big guy..." he said meekly. He nodded and climbed quickly up to Ashe's neck, where he had a better chance of holding on. "Can you get these guys on our side?" he asked her, still nervous. Dragons. And he'd have to fight them. He was the size of the leader's claw, for God's sake!

(Hrmm, cant kill friends.)
Mike's face soured when the four dragons began to circle. He couldn't kill Ashe's kin. He wasn't sure he could even harm a highly intellegent creature that wasn't evil. Still, they'd kill him in a flash if he tried to flee. He knew that a dragon's tail could split boulders if they were strong enough, and Mike was sure they were. Their claws could tear through flesh and their teeth could crush diamonds. They were some of the most powerful beings on the planet.
Or at least the most powerful that weren't summoned.
The biggest problem to Mike was their wings. Dragons could release a huge burst of wind with one flap, and compared to Mike's mass that had as much power as a tornado. One burst could send Mike spinning towards the ground or worse: the maw of a nearby dragon. Mike quietly muttered an elven swear before smiling. He had remembered a small bit of his past again, albeit a swear.
"Ashe, I know you'd probably perfer not to fight them, but I refuse to die here. I'll be as non-lethal as I can. I swear it." Mike flashed his left claw out before slowly curling it into a fist, the bones in his fingers and hand crackening with a sickening loudness. He had been stationary, his wings holding him up as his left heel pressed up against his right ankle with his arms crossed. He was still sensing evil, and with all these dragons for a magnificent distraction the group and the dragons would be wide open for oblivion. He'd have to stay extremely focused now.

((Don't worry, I'll give you a small skirmish with them before real fun starts.))
Ashe shook her head. "No, by all means fight. They're still stuck in the old days. Though I thank you for trying not to kill them." She moved back a bit to let her friend be.
~
"Ashe, you trust this being? A creature from the Inferno?" Adrock asked. He knew his daughter was a bit odd when choosing her friends, but never thought she'll befriend a demon.
~
"I do, Father. With my life," Ashe said. "No evil wind surrounds him, and if he says he won't kill, he won't."
~
"...We shall see..." Adrock said as the other four dragons watched Mike.

Seeing a fight nearly inevitable, Flint sighed. Leaning back a little, he spread his hands. In a shimmer of light, the spellbook he owned appeared in his hands. He quickly flipped through it to find the appropriate spells and finally found one. It condensed the air into something a little more tangible, and at the same time, an illusion could be added. Already planning to freak out the dragons by creating a "brick wall" made of this compressed air, he prepared to cast the spell, giving the dragons his best war face. Which was at best, rather comical.

(Whoo, I've been waiting for this! Time for a little Nero smackdown.)
Mike clenched his left hand into a fist. As he shot his fingers out, the scrapping metal made the sound of several swords being drawn. As he let his hand relax he flew higher to get Ashe and Flint out of range of battle. If they were too close they could easily get hit by the other dragons or worse, himself. Mike knew the etiqute of battle: the first to strike was the instigator, and the one being struck was the defender. He had to justify his attacks, he couldn't lash out. He just watched as the other dragons flew around in a circle. The came to a stop and hovered for a moment before craning their next upward and roaring at the same pitch. There was a clap of thunder and as Mike looked up, A funnel cloud spun down and arced away before coming straight at him horizontally.
"Nice roar...let me show you mine." Mike said to himself as he drew his arms and legs inward. He built up all the power within him and right as the vortex was about to strike him, he threw his arms out and roared, black and deep red flames covering his whole body. The heat generated by the flames disipated the funnel cloud the moment they came in contact. The spell ended, and Mike's flames flickered out as he hovered without flapping his wings, the raging heat making him gently drift up and down slightly. He stared at Ashe's father, the look of anger and fear all across his dragonic face. That's when Mike felt the air current change behind him.
Right as the dragon behind him was ontop of him, Mike ripped his wings in and fell, grabbing on to the dragon's tail as it sailed past. He kept his wings closed as the dragon turned infront of it's comrade. Mike let go of it's tail, being sent straight towards the other dragon at break-neck speeds. The dragon reared it's head back and went to take a large bite out of Mike's wing. Mike dodged it's jaws and grabbed on to it's horn. With the speed Mike was going at he had pulled the dragon out of flight, sending it to it's back without forward momentum. They were both in free-fall.
Mike looked down and saw a huge spruce tree jutting from the ground. A storm had severed the top into a huge spike, one big enough to impale an adult dragon. Mike poured all his strength into pulling the dragon's head up, sending it to the ground below and flattening several dozen other trees as Mike got impaled by the one below. It was several feet through him, and the whole was moderately big. Mike summoned his sword and severed the portion of the tree beneath him. He pulled the hunk of spruce out of him and threw it to the ground. He flew up, black flames engulfing him, and soon was completely healed. It ached slightly, but he was pefectly fine.
"I could have let him die." Mike said to Ashe's father, "Instead I saved his life. I've traveled with your daughter for a little while now and for once in over a hundred years I know what friendship feels like again. I will protect her with my power and life, as well as all rightious things." Mike held his hand out, an orb of black flames appearing in his hand. "Don't get me wrong. I am a demon, but unlike my bretheren, I have held on to my soul." As the flames went out, Mike waited for the dragon's next move. He didnt want to fight anymore, and if it came down to it, he'd go right for her father.

Adrock growled. "A demon is still a demon, but I can not deny the fact you took the killing blow for one of my own." He was about to say more when a smaller dragon flew up, riding the wind, he sped towards them. "Sire! Dark Dragons! On the northern boarder!" Adrock cursed and turned his head towards that direction. Looking at the group with one eye he spoke with a smirk. "Why don't you take care of them? Just the three of you. If it gets too hard I'll send some help." He roared out the instructions and flew off. "Should you survive Ashe will show you our main cavern. You can stay in our company for as long as you wish."
~
Ashe sighed. "At least he respects power and honor. You got off lucky for a demon, most time he has them killed on the spot, not allowing any time for preparation." She started towards the Norther boarder and called up to Flint, "Better keep that power in hand. Your gonna need it. Do you know a dragon's weak spots?"
