I'd claim the Lumanny-ism but that saying is ages old.

silent_death_is_loud Hmmm, what about if his secular name is Aaron, but his Hebrew name Aharon? Discuss! Yes, do.

Aaron is to Aharon as Joel is to Yoel (my names) so it dosn't really matter. I can still see a great Jewish identity in both names. Personally, I would prefer Aharon as it's less common and closer to your Jewish roots. However, he will face very minor problems such as spellings on birthday cards and possibly documents, etc.

It was just a thought, however. As, Aharon was my dad's name, so...

I'm pretty sure you're Ashkenazi, so that would work well! I'm definitely holding my ground on Aharon for both names now.

Fractions like that can be weird, I'm fine with that one, but I'm not saying 'half Jewish' anymore and hate the expression.

Yeah, I never understood that one...
You're either Jewish or not Jewish. If only your mom is Jewish, you're Jewish, but not half-Jewish.

Well, the Ashkenazi/Sephardic thread was locked (by Divash? If so, which post made her do it? I was having fun! Hehe.), so I'll mention this quickly and then move away from the topic.
Ashkenazi is like a dominant gene. In a marriage, it kinda automatically overrides Sephardic blood. So you're fully Ashkenazi unless it was one of your grandfathers who was Sephardic, in which case you're half and half.
