{Is Vicky/Brammy surfacing? *shot*}

Sue was still using her strength to help both the Sorens to push the myserious old door open...

While Victoria kept her staff ready should anyone need healing. Someone had to stay in the back lines, as much as she hated it. "When you need to, come back here... otherwise, everyone, good luck out there." she smiled.

Amelia whirled around as the sound of Doog paws crunching down the thinnest layer of snow came to her ears. She ran at the monster, flailing through the snow, but managed to reach him. The Mauthe Doog was easily faster than her in the snow, but within minutes, he was dead in the snow, and Amelia relaxed her grip on her lance. Just a little.

She looked back at the horizon, hearing the sounds of cast spells. The black figure was closer now, and Amelia could tell out a vague outline of the presence's form. It was not a beast with a cloak or blanket caught somewhere; it was a human, or a humanoid, at least. "Oi! You! Over there!" Amelia called. If this was someone from the village, or worse, an FEFer that hadn't made it to the house the night before, she had to help. "You shouldn't be out like this! It's dangerous! Are you all right?"

The younger Soren nodded in confirmation, glancing over to Sue. He had scarcely ever given that door much attention. Come to think of it, it was almost as though it had not existed before, but that could not have been certain. The mage often sighted the thing on his peripheral vision. Perhaps there really was some sort of enchantment — that, or it had been there so long he had forgotten its existence.

+It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
`Toys in every store.
`But the prettiest sight to see is the holly that will be.
+On your own front door.

「 The sage devoted only a brief moment to flash a small smile at the nomad, thanking her for her help as sincerely as he could manage. They had to hurry. If there was something in this room that could help them, they'd need to get hold of it fast. If not, then we'll have wasted enough time trying to budge the door, and had best get out there to assist in the battle!

「 + EDIT: Mini me, let's assume we're already opening the door with Sue.+」

「 Suddenly, as though the door had been recently oiled, and in use for years, it gave. As the chunk of wood swung open, the sage noticed in his subconcious that all of the wears of time, dust, cobwebs, scratches, had apparantly fallen from the door, which now looked recently polished. e had no time to dwell on this, however, and rushed into the room, Elwind readied for the worst. 」

「 A room that should have been dark and filled with nothing but dust and vermin droppings greeted the three in its entry way with warmth, and a soft light from torches on the walls. It seemed as though someone had expected them, and cleaned house a bit. This couldn't be of course, and so the room must have been waiting for them, itself. Definately enchanted...

「 Stepping further inside, the sage quickly determined that there was nothing waiting to attack, and set to work opening every cubbord he could find. "Soren, please check the desks! Sue, see if there's anything in those chests!" Calling out directions quickly, the boy pointed the nomad in the direction of the chests he spoke of, against the back wall. The mage could be left to his own devices. 」

¡`It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
`Soon the bells will start.
`And the thing that will make them ring is the carol that you sing.
¡`Right within your heart.`¡

Sue stood a distance away from the door, pondering. "I have an idea. You think one of your spells could break it down, you two?" she asked both Sorens. A combined Elwind would do the trick on anything.

". . ." The figure still did not speak, but continued to get closer, until after a few moments he stood next to Amelia. He stood taller than her by perhaps a foot. A minute passed, then one hand came out slowly from under the cloak to place itself gently atop her head, and when he turned his head, the slightest of smirks could be seen upon his mouth, below the shadow of the hood. He didn't seem to mean any harm, but then again, he was not someone who she had met before.

Looking out the door, Fiora saw someone touch Amelia's head. Oh boy she thought what could this be..? "Amelia? Are you ok?" Fiora walked slowly outside to see if all was ok or if something was amiss.

Amelia kept a tense stance as the mysterious figure drew closer. There was really no way to tell if the person was a good or bad arrival until he -- or she -- was close enough for proper conversation. Or in a worse case, confrontation. When he finally was standing in front of her, she paused and studied him. Definitely a man; even under the cloak, the figure wasn't feminine enough to warrant the idea of a woman standing underneath that heavy fabric.

She paused, almost bewildered, as his only reaction to her was to take an arm out of his cloak and rest his hand on her head. She could see the very slight smirk underneath the deep shadow of his cowl. "Who... are you?" she asked curiously. She didn't hear Fiora approaching; not yet, at least.

[To clarify, guys, Fefga's house, a small mansion erected as a shelter for guests in honor of the spirit Fefga, is warded against evil and is a safe haven. The monsters cannot attack or enter the house.

The mage bounded forth and was upon the desks immediately. He scratched at drawers and knobs in an attempt to open them quickly, his eyes observing the surroundings. A shudder coursed through his body with the presence of passive magic though he hadn't the time to dwell on that.

The first drawer was already being a pain to open. He heard a slight screech as he shook the thing out of place, glancing down into the desk drawer for any contents.

[[Well, that doesn't mean the monsters can't prowl around outside until they made a ring thick enough to stop even the most determined Red Rover player! xD So it'd still warrant the defensive action, I believe.]]

The figure did not answer this question, either; instead, he looked towards the house, then closed his eys, though neither Amelia nor Fiora could see this. The man was there. Of course, he was involved in almost everything that happened, wasn't he? ". . . Father. . . Renault," the figure spoke finally, voice rough as if from not being used for an extended time. ". . . Where?"

Amelia frowned. Father Renault? What does he need with him? She shifted her grasp on her lance, pursing her lips. Where exactly is he, again...? I know he's in the house somewhere, at least...

"Inside the house... But please, who are you? If you walk in there, people would be bound to panic. Someone might think you're an enemy." Amelia paused. "You... aren't, right?" She looked back up at the newcomer's face, still unable to see much more than his chin and the faintest line of his lips.
