Tsukiyomi Morningstar Hattie held Absinthe's comm tightly in her hands. "Eric, what's going on?" Her voice was tight and she swallowed. "What are you talking about?" "Pen and I are about to get captured by the Hunters. Piper's gonna pose as a bounty hunter and hands us over to them, and take my ship and meet you on Thesys. Don't come after us. Get the Captain to help you, Hattie. If the Hunters come after you, don't fight, run. If they get ahold of the Star's Light, they can take her apart and take the Aether drive, and be on Thesys in an instant. There won't be time to prepare, no time for evacuation. Just shooting fish in a barrel. You have GOT to listen to me, hon, this is important, and if you come after me, I'll never forgive you for it. Get the proper help, Pen'll put out a beacon, and then you can come after us, but not a second before. Got it?"

Her face was very pale. "You're gonna die, aren't you? You're just gonna... Die!" She let a few tears slip past. "That's a terrible plan, Eric. Please just run! I can't pilot the Star's Light... I can't do this. Not alone!" There was fumbling behind her as Absinthe took up the controls of the ship.

I can't pilot the Star's Light... I can't do this. Not alone!" There was fumbling behind her as Absinthe took up the controls of the ship. "Running isn't an option, Hattie. they locked me out and they're pulling us in. I'm not going to die, Hattie. I'll tell you that much. I need you to be strong, and I need you to listen. If you don't listen, and listen to every word, I'll die, and a lot more people will die. I'm asking more of you now than I ever have before, and you need to do it. No tears, no protest, just make sure it gets done."

Hattie wiped at her eyes and quickly composed herself. "Absinthe, go get my brother and him to get his sorry a** up here. His wife too. You, " She pointed off screen. "Vincent, was it? Get together and hail Thesys. Tell them we're headed their way." She turned back to the screen. "I'm on it. I'll do what I can." The screen went black as she ended the call.

Riley and Cale both joined Hattie on the bridge and settled smoothly into their expected roles. Soon the Star's Light was headed towards Thesys.

Das Steube Eric closed his eyes as the channel closed. "We are so goosed, you know that, right?" Pen let out a small laugh. "Don't you know it." After she said it, the hunter ship sent out a call, requesting information on passengers and the ship. Pen gave Piper a tap on the shoulder. "Take the lead, it should be a standard enough procedure." thread here
