"Well... when most people go searching for their magic for the first time... it does get out of control but it's never enough to manifest itself. For those who can see or sense magic, they can see it rolling off the person, the magic energy I mean, but when you went searching a lot of magic was set free so it began to manifest in the best way that it knew.. into wings and flowers... and spring, so that's a lot more strong than I expected. It's not a bad thing.. it just makes it harder to control it."

And they were going to have to try a different set of meditation excerises because Kara didn't want a repeat.

"At the moment the air is full of your magic."

Rhea blinked in surprise, then looked around at the room.

"Is it?" she asked softly, her tone filled with curiosity. She sniffed their air and blinked again. "It smells like rain ..."

Strange. She knew she could grow flowers and have wings spout from her back ... but ... rain? What else had she done that she didn't know about?

"Maybe we should go outside," she murmured, sounding nervous now. "Mama's already going to be angry ... I don't want Haradhel to be angry too ..."

"Alright," Kara replied picking Rhea up.

She was light, but that was to expected as Kara had learnt the hard way from Elrohir that elves were light by nature and a little girl was no exception to that.

"But I assure you, Haradhel won't be angry...."

Though she wasn't sure what to do about that, or if it would go away later."

Kara decided not to muse on that for too long instead taking the lesson outside.

"And it is... I can feel it... and I'm sure Toshiro can really feel it."

"Actually," Toshiro murmured finally, "I think I'm going to run a few laps around the ranch."

Because for the life of him he couldn't sit still, it was like something under the surface wanting to bubble out. It kind of annoyed him, in a way, but probably because he wasn't use to it.

Rhea lay her head on Kara's shoulder and tried to fold her wings against her back so that she wouldn't knock anything over on their way outside.

"Don't forget cloaks," she piped up as they neared the door. "It's cold outside ..."

She pointed to the corner where her cloak was lying in a crumpled heap.

"Oh yes," Kara nodded.

Carefully balancing Rhea in her arms, Kara managed to get the children's cloaks off of the hooks while asking Toshiro if he could get Rhea's cloak as well. He and she switched cloaks so Kara could put Rhea's over her.

"There we go... though those wings are going to get in the way."

Rhea sniffled a bit, but she didn't dare try to take her wings in again ... she didn't want to make flowers and grass grow out of Kara, of all things. Her mother would never forgive her for that ... so instead of trying to make them go away, she simply tucked them tighter against her body in an attempt to make her cloak fit her properly.

"I'm sorry," she squeaked, not daring to look up at Kara. "Maybe it will fit overtop?"

"It's alright," Kara assured her, we'll just drap it over you," she tried to do just that as she made her way out to the yard, "I don't know how there those wings of yours are... so it would be best to at least try to have your cloak on you. I wouldn't want you to get cold."

In fall Kara was still fine with her wings, since as one had already pointed out they provided warmth, it wasn't until winter she needed a cloak, and it was always a cloak rather than a coat. She would never be able to get in and out of a coat easily, and even wings had to be covered after a while.

Rhea nodded. She didn't know how well her wings did for keeping her warm either ... she hadn't discovered them yet the winter previous. She could of course make it spring all around her - but she wasn't supposed to do that, she knew ... she had seen what happened when nature was messed with.

"Where are we going to go?" she asked, looking around. "Just the yard?"

It was empty, no horses ... and the elves were just going about their daily duties (though most of them were in the fields, harvesting).

"Just the yard, that way if anything else happens, it won't harm the surroundings so much," Kara replied finally setting Rhea down, "Though you're lucky if it was Irvine something would have been broken by now."

Toshiro walked past the girls and began his run, he was getting twitchy, which kind of annoyed him. He was never twitchy as far as he knew.

Rhea nodded again, sitting down as Kara set her on the ground.

"Are we going to do the same thing as inside?" she asked nervously as she settled herself on her knees. "Because I'm not supposed to make spring ... not that much, anyways ..."

And to be honest, she didn't know how releasing her magic like that would help her learn how to control it ... or had she even done it right the first time?

"Well... not, exactly, we're going to have to do a varation of it," Kara admitted scratching the back of her head, "What we did was supposed to make you aware of your magic so you can reel it in. Ground yourself for control, but you have so much magic that it's like... opening a floodgate."

She dropped to the ground, sitting cross legged and looking thoughtful. Not to mention she didn't need anyone getting high from that magic, though it seemed Toshiro had it bad.

"Meditation allows for many of us to feel magic both within us and outside of us, and that ability can be very useful because sensing and control eventually becomes natural outside of meditation. You probably felt it... when you tried to get control... and it was hard to fight?"

Rhea studied the ground intensely, plucking at a blade of grass.

"I didn't want to stop it," she admitted in a quiet voice, ashamed that she hadn't done what she had been supposed to do. "There was just so much of it ... and then when I tried it didn't work ..."

But there was just too much of it, how could she make it do what she wanted?

"Did you not want to stop it because there was too much, or was there another reason?" Kara asked softly.

She needed to know in order to know what next step to take, though she really didn't want to do that excerise again. She was already thinking of a different one that would do...

Rhea tore the blade of grass into tiny pieces, not daring to look up and meet Kara's gaze.

"Because I liked it," she whispered finally.

The feeling of the magic coursing through her veins had been overpowering, yes, but at the same time ... it had been exhilarating. She had never felt so wonderful in her life as when she had had all of that magic at her fingertips.

Now that posed a different problem all together, Kara was wary of working with people who liked the feeling of magic, well everyone did it was only natural. She knew this, magic was a part of them, it was only natural to feel good, but to the point where they couldn't do much else.

She's young though... she wouldn't have realized her mind told her.

"I see.. I understand that," Kara admitted, "Magic within us, is as much of a part of us as say our eyes and our ears, they make us, us, but...."

She looked down a to really look at Rhea.

"To give in to our magic is not good, I'm not saying this because of a floor or because of wings. The wings will eventually disappear and floorboards can be replaced, but you cannot Rhea. Giving into that feeling is very dangerous, you could lose yourself that way, that is why it is important to learn to control it."
