Elnara blinked, taken a bit by surprise.
"A list?" she questioned, shaking out the blanket and putting it over the bed, then finishing it off by adding the pillows. "How many names do we need?"
She giggled softly. "One boy's name and one girl's name would be enough, would it not?" Then she put one finger to her lips, her eyes growing wide in sudden realization. "Or is there a Gaian ritual or something that I don't know about?" she asked worriedly.

Lore laughed a bit and kissed her on the forehead, "In case we can't decide love.. nothing more. I swear to you there is... as far as I know no ritual for naming a child."
Well unless they were going to give the child a middle name, which wasn't going to happen. At least he thought it was unneeded.
"It's just something I picked up over hearing others in the library..."

Elnara giggled softly and moved around the bed to hug Lore warmly. "Maybe we should just start by deciding what type of name we want to give him or her," she smiled up at him, standing as close to him as she could with her large belly. "Elvish or Gaian or whatever have you. For meaning or sound ..."
She tugged his hair playfully. "Or a namesake," she added impishly.

Was there any Gaian names he was particuarly fond of? He didn't know since he had never seriously thought he was going to have a child.
"Maybe... I'll have to think," he chuckled, "I... had not given a serious thought to names yet."

Elnara giggled and went up on her tiptoes to kiss Lore lightly on the mouth.
"Well," she smiled warmly at him, "we have time."
She brushed her hand lightly over his cheek, then turned and picked up her dusting cloth once more and continued on with her work.

Lore smiled at her back before moving to make the bed up. At least there was only dust and having to make up the bed to contend with. There wasn't a lot other than that they never used this room before.
So the rest of the cleaning went on in comfortable silence. Once it was finished Lore looked it over to see if he missed anything.
"I think.. that's it."

Elnara folded the used cloth and looked around, her cheeks flushed and her eyes bright. She nodded, satisfied with what they had accomplished.
"And now," she smiled tiredly, "I think I'm going to rest a bit ... perhaps I'll do a bit of reading ... unless you're up for a round of chess?"
Serenity had brought her the very same board and pieces she had learned to play the game with, and it now had its own table in the living room, off to one side so that it was out of the way. She had always enjoyed the game ... even though she wasn't particularly good at it (against certain people at least).

Well... Lore wasn't tired, which was to be expected and he wasn't really up for reading for once. He nodded at her question, deciding that would good idea.
"I'm up for a round," he replied.
The rules... were not changed between worlds in truth, so at least he didn't have too much trouble adjusting.

Elnara smiled and reached for Lore's hand, leaning on him for support as they made their way back to the living room.
"What about Garrick?" she asked him suddenly, her face thoughtful, as they sat at the chess table. "For my father ... for his first life. If it's a boy, I mean."
She looked up at Lore anxiously. "What do you think?"

Actually that sounded like a fine idea, he wouldn't have thought of that but it made the most sense.
"That's a great idea actually," Lore admitted, "It had never occured to me, but I think... it would be a good idea indeed."
It would be a wonderful way of making tribute to her father's first life.

Elnara smiled warmly, relieved that Lore had liked the idea. She had been a bit worried that he might not ... she was glad that he did.
"It seems a bit strange at first," she murmured, taking the dark pieces and setting them up, "considering that my father is actually alive again ... and that his real name was actually Ruel." She giggled softly. "But on the other hand, it's like naming Serenity after my mother ..."

Lore set up the light pieces since Elnara took the dark and nodded at this thoughtfully. He paused for a moment his pawn hovering over it's intended spot as he processed the information. Setting the piece down he looked up at her.
"I had no idea," he admitted.
That Ruel had been named after his father in a way. Who would have thought.
"But you're right, it would be like naming Serenity."

Elnara smiled warmly and sent out a knight.
"And it's not a strange name at all, even by Gaian standards," she added softly, "so he wouldn't have to worry about being teased or anything ..."
Which was important, especially if he would end up going to Fuilteach instead of having her teach him herself ...

Lore would haven not thought about that (so says the man who's name not only meant 'a tale' but also meant 'flower'). He looked at the board thoughtfully as he sent out a pawn.
"Well I had no given a thought to strangeness, but I guess after a while names rarely surprise me."
Except those few gender bender times.

Elnara giggled softly and sent out a scout - what in Gaia was a pawn.
"Names have always been of interest to the people of this world," she murmured, "so names have always been carefully chosen. They're like languages ... every word, every inflection, has a meaning ... and the more you know the more you get out of it."
She rested her hands on her stomach as she waited for Lore to move.
"I still don't know about a girl's name, though," she murmured softly.
