(Well, no. I hadn't, but it was around where I thought it would be. I figured the built up momentum and head-to-head attack would have finished the job. But it is your rp, of course you may do what you please. A quick question, whenever I try to say I'm fine with anything, I always sound like a major jerk? This whole thing wasn't supposed to come off condescendingly, but it looks that way to me...)
"Damn, damn, damn! Why didn't I make sure it was dead?" Armine thought as he had started to race after the oryx. Brindle had already zoomed past him though, his run just to get to where they were at must have drained him. Nap time was surely the first thing he'd see to when they got back to base. Armine slowed himself to a trot when the other cats jumped onto the beast. "It is done. They have it. And now they can stop complaining." Perhaps this incident did have an up side.
(Oh, and my word program wasn't sure what an oryx was, so that threw me off too. Again, I apologize.)

((Perfectly okay Ky, all's well and it added a bit to the hunt ^^. You're a good player and a good sport. Welcome back Thymeast ^^.))
Brindle watched as the oryx gave a lurch and then tumbled to the ground, her hunters holding it well. It had given up. Slowly the tigress approached, taking the back of the creature's neck between her jaws and driving her teeth through the nerve. It was the quickest and most painless way to end the creature's life. "Good work, everyone." Brindle did nothing to hide the pride in her voice. "Kiros are you hurt?" She nosed him carefully, seeing him fall under the animal's hooves had nearly stopped her heart. She turned as Armine approached, a small grin playing on her mouth. "A little unorthodox I admit, you may not have killed it this time but you certainly helped." True if it wasn't for the cheetah's initial tackle the beast might have had enough strength to get away. "We'll eat what we need and bring the rest back between us. The den watchers eat next and we'll save the rest for the outriders."

Kiros slowly got up to all fours and breifly shook himself, dust still lingerd on his coat afterwords but that was ok he didn't mind a little dirt. "No harm done Brindle just a few bumps and bruises." He said as he shook off the pain he had, it wasn't severe but it still hurt. "Guess I overshot a littlebit, but it helped some I supose." He said chuckleing slightly as he spoke. "Are you alright?" He said referring to when the Oryx kicked her in the ribs.

Lex waited patiently for the rest of the outriders to come back from scouting. He always hated being the one left behind but rules were rules and he couldn't change that. He tail twitched impatiently showing his true feelings on the matter. I hope they get back soon. He thought to himself as he paced across a rock.

"I'm fine, it wasn't as bad as it looked." She made a mental note to see the healer about herbs for bruising when they returned. The meat was wonderful. Brindle ate her fill before stepping away to let her hunters eat as well. This was a big catch, they were lucky. This much food would keep even the outriders well fed for a few days, but Brindle would make sure that the den watchers ate before they saw a scrap. "We'll be taking a good portion of the kill back for the den-watchers, make sure what we bring is soft enough for the cubs. Kiros." The tigress lay back in the grass, licking a paw thoughtfully. "I know Bianca has not eaten well in a few days, choose a good bit for her okay?"
((I'll be PMing those who haven't replied in a while, some slots might open up but what's likely to happen is I may need a few more outriders to bring up the plot. Don't worry asgre, I'll have Raiden there at least.))
Raiden made his way back into the main pridelands. All that was needed now was to see the reactions of the other cats when the lead huntress returned. If All goes well I won't even need to win the choosing...The other cats will follow when I expose her as the killer. Suddenly he caught sight of one of the outriders ordered to guard the main lands. Lex his name was, if Raiden could remember right. "Anything to report?" he asked in a half formal tone. He was just a subordinate like lex, but seemed to carry more weight than most.

Seph stood away from the others, tail flicking with its own mind. After the oryx had gone down he'd stepped away. His back was to it now, facing the way home. He was waiting for the others to finish and carry back what they could, nothing more, and certainly nothing less. His mind made a mental map of what he'd found to be the easiest route back to the den after a hunt was finished.
((Well since Ace has disappeared off the face of the pride lands...))
Gado's ear flicked slightly as he paced back and forth near the dens. He still appeared to be keeping the watch he had been before, but now only his ears were tuned to the world around him. His pacing was not due to his usual searching, instead he was thinking. His mind was a buzz with more thought then it had been in a long time. A traitor...such a thing had never been heard of until recently...what was happening to these cats!? What had caused such a change.

[Alrighty. I've already explained why I has been gone so very long to Griffen (without falling off anything Gray ^.^), but I shall explain it to you peoples. I has a very busy life, and a very short time limit on this fantastical compy. So, I shall try to catch-up and post, but bear with me]

((Yo, I'm sorta back too. Yey school. Anyway, I'll just fastforward with Thela, pretend she's coming back from scouting, 'cause uh... I think last I left her was to listen in with the talk with Gado, and I don't know where that thread went. ^^;; ))
Thela had been scouting in the forest today. It was fairly quiet, as far as things went. She saw nothing out of the ordinary.
Lounging in a lofty branch, she checked the sun and determined it was about time to go back to report. The jaguar gracefully clambered down the tree and loped gently towards the main pridelands. It wasn't too far off from the area she was patrolling in.
Shortly after arriving in the pridelands, she spotted Lex in the distance. She adjusted course to meet him. Apparently Raiden had too, as Thela soon noticed him as well.
"Anything to report?" she heard the Liger ask. She interjected with her own findings. "Nothing where I was," gesturing back towards the forested area. "I suspect nothing much here either?" she asked Lex.

((Busy lives are to be expected, I am still waiting for the hammer to fall as far as as schoolwork goes. It's good to have you back though ^^))
Raiden raised an eyebrow at Thela's voluntary report. "Good work." He thought praise was in order, despite his ambitions and cruel heart he did keep a watch for competent cats within the pride. He also did his job effectively. "The group of wild dogs at the edge of the lands, on the other side of the cliffs has moved closer. I suspect the herds have shifted their migration patterns just enough to make hunting difficult for them. We should keep a careful watch for their scouts." The dry season was almost upon them, they could not afford to let other beasts hunt their lands now. And there is nothing like another threat to unify the pride for change, he mused in his mind.

((um, the hunters minus Calyn went hunting, caught an oryx. Calyn's about to murder someone if she has to stay cooped up and unable to run or hunt or anything. Zephre played with one of the cubs... I think that's it, not sure how far back it was before you left.))

Kiros nodded in conformation of Brindle's orders. He waitied patiently for a bit and then dug in taking a bit for himself and then looking the carcuss over for soft regions for the cubs to eat and a good sized portion for Bianca. "These portions will be for the cubs and Bianca" He stated as he pointed out the portions he was referring to so no one would touch them. He then stepped back and let his fellow hunters eat from the team kill.

(( The hunters are about to return, Mahora should be leading his scout party back to the main pridelands by now and Raiden is currently speaking with a new member about wild dogs invading the pridelands on the other side of the cliffs. Does that help?))
Brindle waited until her hunters had finished eating, then picked up as much meat as she could carry in her mouth and started for home. It would be a long walk, and with the adrenaline gone from her system she took time to enjoy the lands around her. Golden grass, parched from the dry season was prickly under her paws, the sky was as blue as she had ever seen it, cloudless and vast. Occasionally a great gnarled tree rose up from behind a hill. Its trunk fat and stout and its branches holding the basket nests of strangely colored birds. She watched as the sun had slowly begun to dip in the sky. They would make it home just before sunset.

Mahora did not look back to see if the rest of the party was behind him. It was something the cheetah rarely ever did. A bad habit, but a constant one. The animal did slow his pace though to a slow jog, realizing he may have been over-exerting himself, if only a bit. Finally, his pace slowed to a comfortable walk as the pride lands approached.
---
Azure stayed low to the ground, his dappled coat hidden by the underbrush that surrounded the pride lands. He smelled strongly of grass, tinted with strong, sweet smell of a native plant. All of this, of course, cloaked his distinct 'rogue' scent. He watched the happenings from a distance, yellow eyes darting from place to place.

Thela nodded when Raiden mentioned the wild dogs. It had been awhile since they were last bothered by such a pack, but it did happen. It had almost been too long; they had been fortunate enough to have milder times up until recently.
But the Outriders knew how to deal with such problems.
The jaguar gave a low growl, affirming that she would indeed be watching for their scouts, and was quite ready for a fight.
Movement caught her eye, and she noted Mahora walking in with a small patrol in the distance. "Ah, the second," she mentioned, in case the other cats did not see, and then gave a quick signal yelp to let Mahora know they were here, and friendly. He would either alter course to meet with them or they would follow him back to the den.
