Scarlet noticed the vines wrapping around her ankles and lunged forward, trying to get away from the vines. As she did so, they caught fast to her ankles and she fell belly-first to the ground, the vines dragging her. She screamed.

Sousha stopped short of going around the building corner as she heard Scarlet scream. She run back to were she had left Scarlet lying, pulling out her sword as she went. She froze for a moment as she took in the vines and Scarlet. "What the hell?!"
Sousha finally took a step forword, then rushed the vine. She tryed to cut them away the best she could.

Scarlet clawed with her nails at the ground, trying not to let the vines drag her further. The vines were cut a bit with Sousha's sword, but no real damage was done.

The vines continued to pull Scarlet in,
overwhelming her body, hiding it behind a tangled mass
Of squirming vines.

Scarlet screamed, and her scream was cut off by the millions of vines tangling around her. She grasped for her magical dagger, but it was no longer tucked into her belt---she must have dropped it.

Sousha nearly hissed in fustration, the vines wouldn't cut, no matter how hard she swung her sword. 'Maybe this will work better.' she wondered as she switch the sword with the other weapon of Haku's she was carrying at her hip.

Scarlet ripped at the vines as they continued to smother her. "Sousha, Help!" she screamed, though it came out muffled.

One of the vines moved into view, displaying a cruel set of small thorns. It snaked towards Scarlet, diving into the tangled mass, and scratched her arm, allowing a sedative to enter Scarlet's bloodstream.
As the sedative took effect, the vines began to slow down, remaining on Scarlet

Scarlet lay, quieter now, that the sedative had taken effect, in the middle of the vicious vines with their thorns. She knew she was still in danger, but she could not gather the strength to call out anymore.

The vines then proceeded to begin pulling Scarlet towards the house, wrapping themselves around her body, wrists and ankles. Other vines turned their attention to Sousha, slithering across the ground, trying to get around her ankles.

Sousha started to swing her other weapon at the vines, ignoring the vines coming after her, while she tryed to help Scarlet.
"Scarlet, just hold on a bit longer, I'm going to get you out of this!"
Her weapon seemed to have a small effect, but not much.

As she hit a vine, there came a hissing sound as the vine began to shrivel up and disappear, as if rapidly dehydrating. The process ceased when the vine became nothing more than a husk, a brittle shell of what it was before, being crushed into powder by the weight of the other vines.
One of the vines succeeded in wrapping itself around Sousha's ankle and gave a sharp pull, Pulling Sousha to the ground, where she was susceptible to the rest of the vines.

Sousha started at the vines as the ones she had hit withered away to nothing, but she was quickly pulled back to reality as she fell to the ground after being pulled down by the vine around her ankle. She slashed out at it, and shook the remains of the vine off as she stood.
She run back over to were Scarlet was and cut away to the vines around her, hoping that they would die away as the others had.

As the vines started to dry up, Scarlet tried to claw her way toward Sousha. She succeeded a bit, but the vines still held her.
"You've almost cut through!" Scarlet panted.

Sousha kept hacking away at the vines till they were all gone. She take a breath as she places her weapon back in her belt and leans ove offering a hand to help Scarlet up.
"Are you ok?"
