Miyu appeared right behind Lothiriel peering from behind at Pengolodh curiously. She didn't know this person, but Lothiriel said he was alright, so he has to be right?
It didn't make her feel any better.

"Right right," Donovan murmured.
He didn't mind, besides it was fun while it lasted, though his wife wasn't going to think so. Ah well....

"Thank you, Lin," Lothiriel smiled at the girl before budging Daeron over a bit so that she could sit between him and Pen.
Pen moved over eagerly to make space for her. "Where were you?" he asked her, his voice suddenly quite serious.
"Washing up," she replied simply. "And you should know by now that you're supposed to behave when you're around people."

Elrohir chuckled. It appeared she did have a semblance of control over him.
Amazing.
And it explained a lot.
"So where have you two all been traveling?" he asked curiously as Haradhel rose to serve the food.

Miyu skittered to sit beside her grandmother eying Pen warily from where she sat. If it seemed that she sat a bit closer to her grandmother than usual, Kara didn't make note of it. This was normal Miyu behaviour after all.

Just then, Celebor wandered in from the kitchen, Arahad in hand.
"Oh, Seeker!" he grinned brightly upon seeing his cousin. "Hello again! When did you arrive? Will you be staying long? Who's your friend?"
Assuming that the man had come with her - since she was sitting beside him, and he hadn't been there earlier.

"Hello, Celebor!" Lothiriel beamed, waving at him. "It's good to see you again! We've only just arrived, we'll be staying for a while."
She put one hand to her mouth and giggled. "Ah ... I had forgotten ... I hadn't introduced anyone yet. Everyone, this is Pengolodh, Pen for short, though he goes by just about any name you care to use. We've been traveling together for about three years now, and we're nothing more than travel partners. Pen, this is ..."
She paused and looked around at the many faces she had never seen before.
"My Uncle Elrohir, Aunt Haradhel, cousins Ahren, Arwen, and Arahad - Celebor's the tall one over there, he's from another of my aunts - then there's Adanedhel, or Adan, he's from Aliya and Amdir back in the valley we passed through ... you've met my cousin Daeron ... Kara, Donovan, Lin, Miyu - they're from that other world that I told you about ..."
She paused thoughtfully. Had she missed anyone?
Pen looked around at everyone, his eyes abnormally serious as he took in all of their names.

Haradhel's eyes sparkled as she reached up to take Arahad from Celebor. The infant didn't want to come, but she took firm hold of him and planted him in her lap.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Pen," she smiled at their guest. "And though my husband may not show it for a while, he feels the same. He's just very protective of his family."
"Try overprotective," Daeron coughed.
Elrohir glared.
Haradhel laughed and reached one hand across the table towards Pen. "At any rate, you and Lothiriel are welcome to stay here as long as you would like to," she smiled warmly. "And Daeron and Elrohir will warm up to you eventually, I'm sure."

Lin giggled at that, she thought it was all very funny, even her Daddy had been funny for a while, "They just need to get use to you," she smiled up at him, "You should spend a lot of time with them, that's a good way for them to get use to you."
Out of the mouth of babes of course Lin would say something like that, she was living proof in how that worked.

Pen's eyes softened a bit as he looked around at the others, but most especially as he looked at Lin while she spoke.
"I can see that her family thinks very highly of her," he admitted softly as he shook Haradhel's hand. He turned to face the others. "I apologize for my actions. I've been alone for so long that sometimes I forget that not everyone reacts the same."

Kara smiled softly, "Have you been traveling for a very long time?"
She couldn't tell after all by looking at him how old he was, and she was use to by now everyone growing up and being much older than her. Even Aliya was older than her at this point.

"Since I was fifteen," Pen nodded, folding his hands in his lap. "So ... nearly forty years now. Sometimes it's hard to keep track of the passing years, so maybe it's already been that long." He shrugged. "But such is life."

Elrohir's brow furrowed. "Then you must be nearly my age," he commented. "Just why is it that you act the way you do? No one would ever take you seriously that way."
Ahren made a comment in High Elven, and Adan snickered.

She knew it was a tactic for some people, though she wasn't sure about Pen.
