Laurel watched the ghost-girl through half-closed eyes. She seemd to be solid now, which was puzzling. Maybe she wasn't a ghost after all? Laurel remembered a meta that could walk through walls...

The girl was looking the other way. Laurel crawled down the hallway, which eventually opened into the hanger bay.

Pen was in the hallway, leaning against the wall with her face in her hands. Her hands moved up and brushed past her hair, the braids had kept it rather neat despite the amount of hassle the day had been. She glanced up at Laurel. "Who are you?"

Laurel looked up at the voice. Her vision was a bit blurred from the bumps she's taken on the head. "L-lor-laurel." Bracing herself against the wall, she clambered to her feet.

Pen gave a slight chuckle, lowering her hands to her sides. "I'm not that frightening, am I?"
Laurel's knees wobbled, and her vision blurred even more. "No, 's'm'h-head. C-c-con-c-c-cus". She slid back down to the floor.

Pen swore lightly and made her way over to Laurel. "And why are you running away from the medical staff rather than to them?" Pen crouched down and looked at Laurel's eyes, "Come on, lets get you to a medic."

Ora sighed, "Well damn," For a brief moment she considered taking on the Rogue's form and working things from there, but the situation was far too sensitive and she decided against it. "I'm probably just going to have to move you somehow," she whispered to herself.
"M-move." The girl blinked a few times, and finally saw Ora. "M-mm. Muah? Kia orrrr...a..." She took a deep breath, about the only thing she was still able to do, and the ration slipped out of her good hand unnoticed.

Ora let out a small sigh. "I'm going to take you to a place to get fixed up, a place safer than this."
The girl shot bolt uprght for an instant. "Th-the Rogue! The Rogue, 'ou 'otta..." she voice faded again and she wavered, her good arm falling on the stiffening corpse next to her.

The corpse beneath AC's arm had strangely appeared to be looking better than before. With a subtle play of illusions, Ora gave the body the faintest signs of life. "The Rogue needs medical attention. We should take her to Osis's medical center. Will you help me do that?" Ora asked.

The girl tried to nod, but the blood loss was too much for her and she fainted.

The writer said she was was very sorry.

((Oh, Wayside School...))
((Huh?))
Ora gave a shrug, the girl being knocked out would make it easier. She touched AC's shoulder and the two of them blinked to a safer place, with medical robots to help repair the damage the silly girl had put herself through. Ora made sure that if anyone unfriendly were trying to find the room, they would never be able to actually see the door to get in, although when the girl was healed and functioning, she would be able to move out freely on her own. Ora never liked keeping people locked up.

Ora quickly blinked back, and started her search for Mizrahi.

((Sideways Stories From Wayside School, by Louis Sacher, same guy that wrote Holes. The school was supposed to be built one story and 30 classrooms long. However, it was accidentally built with 30 stories, with one room on each story. (The builder said he was very sorry.)

... Yesssss. wink ))

A.C. got fixed. The writer's imagination has fled how in describing exactly how, because there is pizza in the room.

Don't ask how pizza got in the same room as a punk kid and a bunch of medical robots. It just did.

Back in the room with the refugees, a beady-eyed woman waited 5 minutes to make sure A.C. wasn't going to pop back in, then started complaining loudly that the dead were being housed with them and that these conditions were completely unsanitary, pointing to the body of the Rogue as a prime example.

Someone was talking, and it sounded like they were talking to her. Sol turned around and looked at Tu. "Umm..Were you talking to me? Im sorry, I just ran from a ghost or something and Im kinda disoriented right now."
Tu raised an eyebrow. "Ghosts? Are you okay, kid? Not going into shock or anything, are you?"

With a distressed look, Sol shook her head. "N-no! Its just that this one girl told me that there were some ghosts in that room down the hall and then we ran and..and..." Sol broke down crying, much to her own horror. Unbidden, during the middle of her sentince, her memories of the encounter with the Kore sprang up and filled her with self loathing. What she didnt know was that an entire year of her life was missing, a time when she was programmed to be an assassin and funtioning member of the Kore society.

Pen lifted Laurel's arm over her shoulder and leaned the girl's weight onto herself. She'd noticed the medics running towards a certain group earlier, and headed in that direction. "So how'd you get a concussion, Laurel?" She asked, trying to keep the girl focused on conversation, so she'd stay awake.

"N-no. Its not that...Look." Her hands seemed to lose focus, and then turned into scythe blades. "See! Its not OK! That creepy Captain guy tried to kill me because of the freakin Kore! The Kore gave me this terrible, beautiful gift...This and one other thing." She blinked and teleported behind Tu. "This....This is their true genius. The ability to blink and be wherever you choose to be...within reason. The Kore....Are they really enemies? They have much to offer that could save this civilization from eventual ruin. Ruin..ruin that is inherent in all humankind." she said in a soft voice as she circled Tu, almost as if she was talking to herself. Her hands continued to change into implements of destruction as she walked, all the while her face had the look of someone who was daydreaming.

Hattie's Comm began to beep and Riley's face came into focus. "We got Gov Ships heading our way. A whole fleet of about 12. They're aren't in our range yet, but I'm sure they've got Hackers trying to disable our Weapons." Hattie nodded. "Just keep an eye on it. I'm sure the Hunters will be on top of it." She bit her lip, worrying about Hunter, but more so about all of the Wanted people on this Ship. A large bounty was out on Hattie. One of the largest in the Verse and she knew if she were caught, death or worse waited for her.

Tu's hand instinctualy moved towards her gun, although she was a horrible aim and knew it. "Kid, keep your weapons in your hands, and yourself in one place, or someone more jumpy than me might get spooked and start up a fight." Tu took a deep breath. "The Kore would lead us to destruction faster than you could ever imagine. They are that inherent evil in humanity."

"Looks like you hit it pretty good too." Pen sighed, she carried Laurel down the hall and when the medic group came into view she called out. "Can I get a healer over here!"

The medics, being under control of someone who seems to be taking a leave of posting despite my subtle hints for him to get back into gear*glare* ignored them. However Ruby, heard the call and came bouncing over. "Folks need some help?" She asked, then caught sight of Laurel, her eyes going wide. "Well I'll be a three-winged monkey's cousin. Laurel-Tree?"

"Y'know somethin'? Humanity's not all its cracked up to be..." She gazed past her hands with a glassed over expression. A strange language, harsh and guttural, rolled off her tounge as if she was born speaking it. Each member of the Kore's elite team of assassins was implanted with a neural chip. The chip was activated by a phrase in the code language they invented. Then, if the implantee so chose, the chip could do many functions besides just a comm device. It could be a beacon, a bomb, or a recording device. The ultimate espionage technology is the person itself, untraceable and undetectable. As of now, Sol was just giving a status report. However, she did falsify some details, mainly where she was and what she was doing. The Kore knew this, but they also knew that she had an excelent reason to do so. No names were mentioned, but they had the suspicion that the Hunters were nearby.

An all-too-familiar silhouette filled Laurel's narrowed field of vision, topped with flame-red hair and speaking in that voice she knew so well.

"NO!! 'T cn't be! Got 'way... Yr ded...U cn't be here..."

She struggled in Pen's grip, saying, "Don' let'r tk me bak..." then collapsed in a faint.
