Karite was one symbol away from being done with this crazed exercise. As he made it to the ox symbol he hesitated. He felt his chakra begin to slip which broke his concentration as he slipped into a dazed state. Sliding back onto the floor he sprawled out and breathed heavy. He had one more shot before he would need to rest. If this one didn't work than he had failed his first goal, but he would not fail his training.

As the boy tried his best to get back up to the last symbol he didn't even get past the first symbol. He was discouraged and tired. He had burned through all of his chakra on that weak attempt. Falling back down Karite squinted his eyes as he tried his best to keep the sweat out. He was getting fed up with this training. He wondered why Yuki-sama gave this exact training to him? Wasnt there something better he could be doing
He needed work with his control as well. It was less intense on his chakra from what he remembered.

Karite scooted his body back till he found a hard surface to lean on. Sitting there he breathed heavy as sweat slowly trickled down his naked upper body. He had not had a workout this intense since preparing for his exam and even that seemed like a cake walk compared to this. As he rolled his staff on his leg he smiled. He had found another obstacle to smash open. He had proven he would become a genin and he showed Maya he would become Tategami. He still had to beat Shisei, Tanu, and Maya. Now he had to overcome his laziness and try his best to master all parts of the shinobi.

Karite got off his lazy a$$ and closed his eyes. He had enough chakra in his system to get a little something out of it but he would have to work fast. Placing the first symbol together his hands raced against his depleting chakra as he tried his best to finish his training. Passing all the other symbols he made it to Ox, all the while his chakra steadily growing inside him. As he got to the OX symbol he made it and felt his entire body fill with chakra before he released the symbol. He had done it. He had finally finished this training. Grabbing the staff from his lap he used it to lift himself up onto his bare feet. "Yuki-sama, I am done. What is my next task?" The boy was out of breath and looked like he was about to collapse. Which wasnt to far from the truth, although physically Karite was superior or evenly match with all his gennin counterparts when it came to jutsu he was last in his class.

The awkward scilence didn't sit well with Akemi... she didn't like just sitting around waiting for people, or small talk for that matter either. So she just stood with her back against the wall as she waited for the other girl to eat and start to feel better. All Akemi wanted was for this girl to feel better so she could get back to the exercise at hand... She was excited when the girl finished up her food and started to get up, but ended up rolling her eyes once Akiko suggested that she follow her to look at the garden... Stupid flowers... that's all it is... she thought to herself as she followed after the girl, mumbling, "yea... garden..." as she followed.

It seemed he himself had forgotten his own advice as this time nothing happened. Rokugi stood there waiting for the pull any time soon but as he waited he just had to accept he had done it wrong. With his extra long sleeves rolled back he took a good look at his hands while the thoughts of what had gone wrong filled his head. " Guess i must have missed it. Didnt time it right myself" The shy smile was again filled his face as he found the situation somewhat embarrassing and yet a bit entertaining. He shifted his eyes towards the big vase that was to be his replacement and thought of a real battle, It would be a shame to have it break like that but the again better the vase or any other thing than him. with that in mind, his hands ready and heart pounding his hands moved towards each other with his handseal half ready.

The boy's hand touched and as the spark once again ignited, his chakra burst out of his body and moved him at an incredible speed around the room. His eyes opened once again and he found himself looking straight at the window he had been standing next to the first time he had performed the technique. In the background, along with the voices of the other kids, Rokugi could listen to the noise of the flower vase twirling a bit in place as it didnt land exactly straight on the ground. He was filled with joy now that he had managed it again. " Kolo try to follow up my example, just focus on letting go of the chakra as soon as your hands touch." He was having a rather easy time performing this jutsu and he noticed it was a completely different type. The genjutsu before had been real hard for him while this one was even entertaining for him. While trying to do it one more time he came to the decision that he would try to focus on learning Ninjutsus.

Akiko led her guest into the center of the garden. There, an abundance of flora stretched out for a great distance, corralled together only by winding, asymmetrical pathways and meticulous garden planning. At its very nexus lay a small pond of fresh water, flowing from the earth and back into the earth so as never to become stagnant. Here, everything was much more still, and the steady trickle of water was the only sound that could be heard. It added to the serene ambiance of the area, offering soft, unspoken promises of tranquility and peace of mind. Akiko went here often when she wanted to escape from the stresses of life, which to a child of her age weren't particularly numerous. Thus, it held a certain significance to her. Now, when her chakra was going haywire and she couldn't find a rational explanation, she sought this place again.

"I know it's important to train," she began, knowing how uneasy Akemi must feel at the present time, "but sometimes I wonder where that kind of life will lead me. I know nothing of wars and constant fighting, and I don't think I ever will until that day comes. Until then, I'll still train--even if I'm training for a day that I don't know will even arrive. It makes me a better person..." she paused at this, unsure if this was sharing too much. "...but also, I'm looking for something. I'm not sure if I'll ever find it, and I don't even have the slightest idea of where to look." She looked away, concentrating on her left hand. She made a small circle in the water of the pond. She hesitated before resuming: "I... don't know if it will help, but I'd like to learn more about fighting and survival. Maybe--just maybe--if I learn enough, I'll find a way. But for now, I want to know everything I can about the path I've chosen."

She was certain she was boring Akemi to death. She tried to think of a good transition, but she gave up and entered right into it again. "Tell me," she requested, turning her gaze back up to the girl before her. "Why do you want to become a shinobi?"

She didn't need to think about her answer to the girls quiestion, because it was always the same answer, "I want to become a shinobi to be the best, simple as that." she muttered, crossing her arms across her small chest. What was with these people and always asking questions anyway? It made no sence as to why everyone always wanted to know everything about everyone... Akiko was reminding Akemi of Kolo and all his questioning... But then a thought crossed her mind, "fighting and survival... they are important." She found it werid that she had only been on this island for one full day and she had been thinking about so much. "What I don't get... is why there are so many options for shinobi..." she was getting confused with all the options that have been presented with her. "How can they expect us... kids, to know what we want?" For a moment, her solid, emotionless expression falutered, her softer, more confused expression coming forth for only a moment. "We aren't supposed to know... are we?" she asked the other girl. An honest opinon, that is what she wanted.

Akiko straightened up, surprised a little that Akemi was beginning to open up. She thought about the question for a minute and the way it was asked. Akemi seemed like she wasn't confident she really wanted to do this--or knew why, if she did. She seemed like she was fishing for a certain answer--no, confirmation. Come to think of it, Akiko wanted the answer to be the same. "No, I don't suppose so," she replied. "We still have years ahead of us--who knows where that'll take us? By the time we're old enough to make a better decision, we might not even want to do this anymore." Her face brightened. "Besides, no child wants to grow up and become a rice farmer, do they?" She laughed at this. "Still, we have a lot of them. I guess they changed their minds, or maybe they just forgot how to dream." She paused for a minute, giving Akemi time to process this and herself time to think of what to say next.

"Yeah, we are just kids, though. We have a lot of dreams--it's what we do. So, maybe I won't grow up and follow this same path. Maybe I'll become better at taijutsu or weapons. Maybe I'll start looking for something else. I'm not sure. I guess the best thing I can do for now is try a little of everything and see what I like. I'll grow up and try to become a shinobi, but I'm not going to give up my childhood. I don't want to waste it all trying to chase after goals and follow some unwritten checklist. I want a life, too... you know?" At this point, Akiko almost felt like she herself was looking for confirmation. In truth, what she really wanted was permission--from someone, anyone.

Akemi thought for a moment about the girl's words, and in the process, her normal expressionless face returned. Akiko had stated something about not wanting to lose her childhood, and that was something that just rubbed Akemi the wrong way. "You are training to be a shinobi now, wouldn't you think that your childhood ended as soon as you started training?" Growing up and being able to defend herself was something the blond girl had always known, and she wasn't about to change that anytime soon. She didn't want to become weak, and she didn't like being considered a child anyway, so it wasn't like she minded lose what little childhood Akiko was talking about...

Akiko wasn't quite ready for this turn in the conversation. Akemi's demeanor had somehow reverted to its normal, abrasive state. When she suggested that they had somehow signed away their childhoods, Akiko was a little shaken. "Mmm... I s'pose..." she replied coolly, but she really meant, "not at all". For once, Akiko became firmly set on this topic, not willing to admit that she was right. She didn't even consider it that much. Still, regardless of how she herself felt on the subject, she was happy that she was able to help her comrade. She looked back down to the water and splashed a little on her face, hoping to wake herself up and wash away some of her stress. As she did so, the contents of her sleeves shifted about, and something golden and shiny fell out. Her natural instincts made her cup her hand and reach backward to catch it. She brought it up to her face and saw that she still had one of her aunt's special candies in her possession. She figured this would help her get back to training sooner, so she popped it in her mouth.

Now that her chakra had been restored, Akiko felt ready enough to finish the exercise. It had taken long enough, and though she didn't mind taking her time, she was certain that her partner did. So, she thought for a moment and reviewed the task. "So... one of us attacks, then the other uses Kawamiri to execute a sneak attack. That will put the second person behind the first, so the process repeats. I think we can set up a chain like that," Akiko summed up. "That sounds about right, right?"

Akiko stood up, dusting herself off. "I suppose we should get to work, then." Akiko stepped back, adjusting her center of gravity and getting her defenses up. Then, with a slight flourish, she brought her leg back and over, slamming down briskly in a heel drop maneuver. She hoped Akemi was prepared for this.

As Akemi and Akiko headed into the kitchen, Yuki smiled, especially when she heard Rokugi speaking with the other students so openly about helping one another. She watched the boy try and receive little input from his classmates. The woman had to admire his own encouragement. As Karite came up to Yuki saying that he had completed the task. "Now that you're more familiar with your seals, I'm going to get you started on learning a technique. You'll need chakra for it though, so why don't you go rest and eat some lunch?" Yuki suggested, knowing that Karite didn't have a large surplus of chakra like some of her former students.

Noticing that Rokugi was completed with his task, she knew that the boy had been hold back my his classmates the prior day, so she wouldn't let him fall behind again because of a challenged Nara and lazy Tenmoki. "Rokugi, let's get you moved on to the next exercise," Yuki said, calling him over to her. "We're going to practice executing the technique in battle. I'm going to attack you and you will have to use the technique to dodge the attack. Once you escape the technique, you have the opportunity to spring a sneak attack. Do so," the woman said to him, letting him absorb that before she said, "Here it comes." Toning down her skill quite a bit, Yuki attacked Rokugi with a straight forward punch.

Bowing his head he returned to his seat and pulled out a few berries from the lagoon. He managed to collect some before he started training this morning. He still had to finish his Taijutsu training. Tanu was very strong, if he had any hope in beating her honorably he would need to do it with out his staff. His Taijutsu had taken a back burner to his staff training, now he had to continue it with more strength and vigor than ever before. He also had to work on his dodging skills. Shisei may be physically weak but all his blows come with enough speed to pack a punch. He couldn't keep distance with Shisei because of his skill in throwing weapons and by now he probably had many jutsu under his belt training with that damn Uchiha. His opponents were getting stronger and stronger and it felt like he was sitting stagnate. He would be the strongest shinobi Shimagkure ever produced on its shores, Shisei nor Tanu would defeat him.
