Kiba was finally getting more comfortable with Zuka on his back. Once again, however, Tanu did not make things a whole lot better. Now that she mentioned it, the little sloth did smell a little unpleasant. Fortunately the young Raiken's olfactory senses were not all that sensitive and the odor of the little creature around his neck bothered him far less than the bugs crawling over from the hairy body of the animal onto Kiba's. He just tried to suck it up and persevere. Shin's optomistic outlook on the situation encouraged the dark eyed Raiken and he reached out to grasp the young Nara's hand. Unfortunately as Kiba reached up for Shin's hand he felt the sloth slipping from around his neck. He was not sure what the sloth was doing, but it seemed to be reaching after something which had taken its attention off from self preservation. It was now up to Kiba to rescue him and, with his free hand, he quickly repositioned the creature back around his neck and rebalancing himself onto the ladder with his feet before reaching back up for Shin's hand and pulling himself further back on up the ladder.

Hanabira smiled as Karite said that she was getting close to untying him! She made sure to take steps specifically forward and not angle off to any sides. With her arms outstretched, Hanabira felt the coolness of a rock and took of her blindfold. Looking up, she saw Karite and smiled. "Thank you," Hanabira said as she climbed up the rock to begin untying Karite. "I only got hurt once," the girl with the freckle face said happily as she worked on the whip to untie Karite. Once she finished, she looked down at the course she had just walked through. The Yamanaka was glad that she had been blind folded, because there would have been no way she would've stepped through that path any other way with all those dangerous things lying around.

As Hana-chan managed to get the whip free, and his arms where peeled from his skin the boy stretched and flexed allowing his tattoos to dance on his chest. Smiling he hugged the girl, "Thank you Hana-chan. I am sorry for my mess up. I will try my best to make sure you never get hurt again." Letting her go Karite looked at Kore as he circled the poor rabbit. It use to be him and Kore would hunt all day together. They missed their hunting session this morning because of their training and they were both hungry, but when they were training they ignored everything. "Kore! Get serious or you go to bed hungry tonight." The boy was serious about getting stronger after the war. After what happened to Orika, he had developed his ninja way. The loss of her mother was detrimental to the girl and himself. She was never the same Orika after that. She began to spar with him with much more force than ever before. It made him sad he had to go full strength because of her anger. Which brought the question, "Hana-chan? Have you heard from Orika today?"

Natamo clapped her hands and smiled at the duo. "Well done, you two. Hana, you follow instructions very well - I'm almost sorry you were scratched. You'll heal fine though, it's a flesh wound. Karite, well done on your part too." Natamo ruffled their heads and turned her attention to Kore, her hair shadowing her eyes as an evil grin crossed her face. "Get serious or you won't go home at all, kitten. I could use a new blanket," she said, her voice icy. Her expression was almost dead serious - Natamo had almost skinned a wolf pup, and had it not been for a little girl adopting it, she would have had a hat. Wolf fur would have been fluffier, but the half grown lion would make a very pretty blanket, or even a throw rug - whenever it got dirty, she could take it out and beat it.
Natamo turned back towards Hanabira and Karite, and frowned. Their third squad member hadn't shown up...hmph. Natamo looked over at a low hanging tree, and suddenly realized she didn't want these two climbing the ladder alone. "Alright you two...it's time you make a lean-to. You'll be camping out here tonight with me. I'll teach you how to make a couple cool things, and if you do a good job with your lean-to, I'll tell you a few stories and stoke a fire. Use my whip, and bring that tree down towards the base of the one next to it. The leaves you can tie with bits of twine so that they'll shelter you and keep any rain out. Looks like a clear night, but one never knows..." Giving them her whip and some bits of thin rope, the twine, she sat on the rock to watch for Zuka ... and her rabbit. She was definitely looking forward to a new blanket....

Only one rung left! Finally, the newly formed squad of genin had made it to this point. Granted, the last rung was farther seperated from the previous one than any of the others had been from their preceding ones, but it was till doable the young Raiken thought as he pondered how best to go about getting either Shin or Tanu up to it so that, after one team mate was on top of the ladder they could then procede to help the other two up there as well. "Ok," began Kiba as he hoisted his upper body above the rung of the ladder he was currently on with his arms "One of you climb up onto my shoulders to get a little closer to the next rung and then--" But before Kiba could finish explaining his plan of action he cried out as he felt Zuka completely fall away from around his neck. Stupid sloth! What was it thinking. As the dark eyes of the Raiken found the falling sloth he could see that it was asleep! As quickly as he could the young Raiken reached after the little sloth with his right hand and grabbed it by the wrist leaving it dangling by Kiba's side. Consequently, Kiba now only had his left arm holding up not only his entire body, but also the baby sloth. "Dang it!" the Raiken with lightning bolts on his face muttered "Keep on going Shin! Tanu! I've got him!" He hoped that his own precarious position would not weaken the focus of his team on the goal before them.

"Ah-," Shin started as he saw the Sloth go limp in Kiba's arms. "He's asleep?" Shin said a little nervous, not really understanding anything could merely fall asleep when they were this high up! Especially in the arms of a complete stranger. Animals were strange, after all! "Uhm," Shin said as he climbed up to the next ring to grab a good looking leaf from the branch of the tree. "Zuka! Zuka!" Shin chanted, trying to dangle the leaf by its stem over Zuka's face. He was sure what sloths ate, but they were always in trees, so maybe they ate leaves? If it wasn't food, maybe it was entertain the sloth and wake him up!

Tanu rolled her eyes and groaned as the two boys played with the filthy fur ball from out of the tree. "For the sake of..." Tanu started as she was beginning to lose her patience. "Just get up there already!" she yelled, positioning herself under Kiba and pushing him up by placing one hand on his rear while having a good hold on the ladder with her other. With her brute strength, she pushed Kiba up. "Grab the next ring already!" she yelled at the Raiken, wanting to get this training over with and onto the next thing. She had been given a moment to realize that they were climbing up nothing but a freaking ladder. As Tanu pushed Kiba up forcefully, she lost her own grip with her feet and slipped on the rings. "Shi-" she started, slipping down a notch, losing grip on Kiba's butt and slipping down a few notches to the last point they had all been at.

Karite smiled at Natamo's compliments on his and Hana's teamwork. As he heard her speak to Kore he was drawn back. Kore was his brother and friend. She wasnt turning him into anything over some stupid rabbit. "Natamo-senpai, respect that the rabbit is your pet, but Kore is my brother and friend. I would honestly have to say your not turning him into anything without killing me first."
Taking the whip he looked at a nearby tree. It looked strong and it seemed to have a lot of leaves on it as well. Thinking he could manage to do what Natamo did to him with this fancy piece of leather. He shook the long leather whip and soon let it fly. Watching it wrap around the tree he pulled it tight. Beginning to lean back he turned his head to Hana-chan. "Alright Hana-chan. Mind helping me pull this thing down a little?" His guess that this tree was strong was right on the kunai. It was much stronger than he first thought.
+2 Hana

Kore quickly stopped pacing and looked up at Karite. He had been freed which was a good thing and a bad thing all at once. Now he could easily punish the lion cub if he wanted to. The jungle woman was beginning to freak him out as well with all these threats of being turned into a rug. As the lion sat down and looked at the rabbit, he nudged it with his snout hopping to get it to acknowledge its friendly attempt at hello. Keeping his mouth shut the lion tried not to show any of his teeth knowing it would have a rather negative effect on the rabbit.

Kore looked up as Karite turned his back. Looking down at this rabbit he was beginning to get upset. Of all the things the lion was built to do, befriending anyone was not it. He was a tracker, it was what he was good at. He was Karite's ears and eyes in the dark and his nose all the time. He sensed danger and when he did, Karite was safe. He did not need friends, while even he would admit he was hostile sometimes towards people it was because they were a threat. People like the Kun Kumo and the Orochi. He had grown with hostility. It would not be demolished so easily.

Kore heard the chilled words from Natamo and began to growl. If the woman thought he was going down without a fight she was highly mistaken and soft in the head. Kore was a Tategami, which meant he was stronger than the rest of these pathetic shinobi. It also meant he held pride where most would hold none. This woman's insults were beginning to get on his last life.

Kore snorted as he shook out his mane. Looking down at the rabbit, he guess it wasn't worth much to his stomach considering he brought down bigger game for a year or so now. His main diet were deer and other animals of large caliber. Karite spoke of hunting sharks one day. He was a very admirable and stupid boy. Always ready for the next big thing to come up in his life.
Laying down the lion began to purr softly as he wrapped his body around the rabbit. One of Kore's growing pass times was sleeping. It was about the only amount of Peace he got now that Karite had stop going tot he academy. Snuggling up next to the rabbit Kore let his gold eyes reflect the actions of the newly promoted students around him.

Kore laid peacefully next to the rabbit letting it nestle close to his stomach. As the rabbit laid next to the lion it had calmed down till it could hear the growing roar of the lion's stomach. This lion was hungry and the only thing around that was edible was the rabbit. It seemed to the rabbit only a matter of time before this rather large cat decided it was time to catch a rat. Fearing that time the rabbit began to shake and whine fearing for its life, which seemed to becoming to a quick end.

Kore's stomach was quickly silenced by the lion. As he nudged closer to the bunny the lion was sure to make notice that his jaws were not open, his fangs were not bared, and his tongue was still resting in his mouth. As his golden eyes slowly began to fade behind his black eye lids. The easiest way to make a friend was to not be hostile. The only time he wasnt hostile was when he was sleeping.

Kore was beginning to drift asleep. Dreaming of more simple times, when he ran through the woods. Hunting prey that stalked the shadows just as he did. Beginning to growl the lion was slipping into a fake world where only him and the prey were there. The thrill of the chase was all he needed and all he wanted. Sleeping was a hostile time as well it seemed. His haw beginning to move somewhat as he dreamed of biting into the flanks of a buck or a lynx. At this point he would even go for boar.

Karite had heard Kore's growling and knew he was either trying to scare someone or just sleeping. As Karite turned still gripping the whip he looked back at his friend. "Kore wake your lazy butt up and get serious. Don't make me warn you again, or so help me Natamo's training wont seem nearly as hard as mine." Karite turned back around and tightened his grip on the whip as he tried to take his own task seriously.

Kore snapped from his dream like state and was instantly threatened with training. Karite's training was nothing to scoff at. That boy had added more scares to his own body then any meho did in all the war. That boy was crazy enough to push his body harder than the gods and keep going strong. Shivering at the thought Kore looked back to see the rabbit peacefully sleeping against his side. Laying his head down the lion huffed at Karite as his growling seemed to have lulled the rabbit to sleep.
