She was going for a vertical slash when drawing the tanto. The samurai had called this type of sword style. Iaido or Iaijutsu something like that. Kanami didn’t know much about it. All she really cared about was the part where it could be used. The diva wasn’t going to excel at it. All her fingers needed to be able to do were learn two or three different ways to cut quickly. It would probably been better to find someone who actually partitioned in the sword arts, but who was there? “Make the slash deeper and cut directly up the middle. I should be able to slash the up the middle of the thyroid cartilage and up the chin. My swipe should be returning at that time. The aim is to cut the neck. If I go too far then the tanto may get stuck in bone.” the Hyuuga princess thought. Her fingers once again stood within the same stance. This time Kanami didn’t make a move right away. The nail polished fingers and glove wearing wrist wanted to try and get this perfectly.

After all perfection would be needed. She would probably be in more missions similar like her first mission. One where she is in the company of some type of man. Whether he be some type of lecherous pervert or the type that can’t chat with girls so needs it to be arranged where he can speak with them. As much as the clan elders were against the girl using such seductive traits, the vixen was one of the best at what she did. Seducing was one part though. The other was to be able to efficiently kill the target. A fatal strike in one move would leave less of a struggle. Less of a struggle meant less people would know about it. It also meant Kanami had better chances of leaving the premises undetected. Learning to stealthily and quickly kill with the tanto would also prove useful in combat too. As the enemy stated to her in past ‘You’re too slow’. The kunoichi drew her blade and it swiftly went up and made a thin line on the training dummy. The line started just below collar bone and up. If it were a person their adam’s apple would have been split in two. The line went up the chin, up where a nose would have been and stopped at the dummy’s forehead.

“Too slow.. I’ll show you next time…” Kanami thought to herself. Training was such a drag, but it had to be done. Kanami couldn’t let someone else get hurt over her. The usually wanton teen walked closer to the stuffed target. A finger glided across where the kunoichi wanted to attack. This time she wanted to see if she could make a clean cut horizontally in the middle of the neck. A thin line like the previous was the aim. Her feet took two steps back and the blue haired Hyuuga took her stance like last time. Her blade went swiftly, but the attack was not perfect. The dummy being slightly higher than the girl meant she had to move her hands higher. The slash only made it to the top of the chest. It would have been a nasty scar if the dummy was real. Fortunately only pieces of stuffing a fluff originated from the attack. “I guessed wrong on that one…” the Hyuuga thought. Her eyes tried to make the corrections her mind did not perceive on the first attack. “Just a little further up.”

‘Too slow’ the girl thought. From that person shadowed with his mask and hooded appearance. Kanami remembered how that incident occurred. She had been watching in marvel as Shinichi-sama and Yuki-sama had finally doused the twin tailed monster. Yet without any provocation those other three entered the fray. Well two. Kanami never saw the third, but villagers said they were. Apparently that one had some other type of motive. Or was just watching. Soon the battle was being driven back to the villagers. What a terrible day.
Kanami watched as a larger body than her was running through the village. Every person this monster in the form of man passed seemed to have exploded in frightful geyser of blood. That person’s movements were quick. It showed with each victim. Kanami could only hope that they felt no pain as this demon ran through them. It was a frightful art that left the girl in awe. Only until the piercing scream of a child did the teen diva snap out of her trance. For some reason the person had slowed down on their assault when it came to a child no older than ten. Her shriek could have been enough to alert the entire village. It alerted the Anbu medic which was speeding down towards the intruder. If she did not get distracted by the other.
Still Kanami felt this was a good time to try and intervene. Using her tanto she rushed up while the person’s head was turned towards the Tenmoki. The blade left its camouflaged sheath aiming at the person’s throat. A horizontal slash it seemed so close, yet so far. It missed by inches with the masked figure turning back. That unusual mask staring down. A firm muscular hand easily gripping around the forearm of Kanami.
The Hyuuga heiress winced at the remembering the vile memory. That was not all, but it was enough to fluster the teen. Her wrist moved with angered grace. Making a clean slice across the dummy’s throat. A perfect ninety degree angle from the first cut. Right in the middle of the neck. The white wren of the Hyuuga was at least pleased with that cut.

The words still beat through her head. ‘Too slow’. Like a drum. Although those were not the exact paraphrasing of the words. The event went more like…
’You’re too friggin’ slow! I could have seen that a mile off!’ the masked person sated keeping a firm grip on Kanami. The teen tried to lash back, but before another move could be made her body was flung like a rag doll into an approaching Anbu. The two bodies collided and Yuki was sent back a few feet while the person pulled her back with enough force to drop the kunoichi on the floor. Kanami was now feeling abdominal pain, whip lash and among many other pains. The tanto was long gone in the attack now the diva only had one arm to battle back. ‘Ohh that blood head is coming too. Why the frig isn’t he doing his job’. The teen activated her blood limit. She could chakra veins in his body. The sly girl planned attacking his kidneys but the demon was too quick again. Another hand grabbed her wrist and placed her body near to his and in the direction of Shinichi. Magnolia eyes had effectively become a human shield against her will. Enough to stop the kage for a split second in which the other devil with the strange feline manage to take advantage. The teenage princess then felt something hard crack behind her head. As soon as the beautiful frame hit the ground a heavy sandal was placed in her rib. ‘I thought Hyuuga were great. You and that other woman are pretty shitty!’. The person continued to approach a fallen Kanami.
But then.. the usually promiscuous girl’s mind stopped there. She was not in the mood to continue that stroll on memory’s lane. Instead she placed the tanto back in its fan sheath and prepared for another blow. This time it would be a vertical slash. The aim to make sure it cut across the neck. She wanted to get the diagonal right down the middle of the first two slashes. A moment for a leaf to fall to the ground. Two fierce swipes. Within six steady heartbeats the peach skinned beauty was placing the weapon back in its holder. She was able to make two cuts within that time. More than was planned although the last cut was a little jagged and did not have the precision. It veered off at the last moment. Kanami gave a small shrug. For now that was ok. She’d be prepared if there was ever another time that person surfaced.

The young girl entered the training grounds, and the first thing she spotted (aside from the rubble that was practically everywhere on the island), was a very battered training dummy. It was so sliced up that Nadeshiko almost pitied it. Then, of course, she noticed the young woman that was destroying it. To Nadeshiko's eyes, this kunoichi had preened herself to perfection, dressed with the utmost care, and possessed exceptionally well-bestowed feminine assets. There was no doubt whatsoever in her mind that this woman was Hyuuga Kanami. Taking advantage of the slight break Kanami took before going back to her task of demolishing the dummy, Nadeshiko hopped up to the blue-haired chuunin. " Hyuuga Kanami?"

Shimagakure’s prima donna wiped a few beads of sweat from her forehead. The training was more focus intensive than actual physical labor. Still the fervent she put into it this morning made her forehead and neck sweaty. Kanami wondered why she didn’t bring a rag or face cloth with her. Some water would have been nice too. Although the girl didn’t wake up this morning with the plan of training. It just sort of happened. Still a face cloth would have sufficed. A sweaty and dirty face could lead to future blemishes on it… That’s a thought she didn’t want to think about. A nice shower would do now. Before Kanami could make the first move a small voice came from behind her. A girl with pallid skin and eyes the color of a sunrise. Even for her age the girl was a featherweight. If this person had any siblings she would definitely be the runt of the litter. If she wasn’t well… perhaps medical care should be given to them. The kunoichi remembered seeing her around the village, but never gotten the chance to say ‘hi’. The girl’s eyes reminded Kanami of another student, but the woman could not put her finger on which it may be. “That’s my name. The kunoichi extraordinaire. So what’s up?” the princess said with her trademark vivacious smile and a wink of the eye.

So Nadeshiko was proven correct. Not that any shinobi who looked like that could be anyone else. If what Nadeshiko had heard in the village was correct, than she would have been very afraid to approach Kanami, but Nadeshiko was never one to make an impression of anyone based on rumours and information gained from eavesdropping on passersby. In fact, Nadeshiko was even more curious than usual to see exactly what Hyuuga Kanami was like as a person. The other kunoichi seemed to show a spark of faint recognition when she spotted her. Perhaps Kanami knew Rokugi? " Hello. My name is Rin'Egan Nadeshiko. Kage-sama told me to find you and tell you that three injured people have washed up onshore and that they need your help. They are with Misaki-san right now." Now that that was done....what was her next task? Ah yes. To find Uchiha Sukotto. Who Nadeshiko happened to nothing (other than the fact that he was an Uchiha) about. But he was a chuunin, yes? " Um....excuse me, but do you know Uchiha Sukotto?" Kanami was a chuunin too, so chances were quite good that she would know him.

“Ohh do I know Sukotto.” the girl said with a small grin and a scratch of her cheek. Who would not know those hazel eyes? That wildly tamed hair. Uchiha men seemed to have good genes in the looks department. Based on Kanami’s inspection of the only two she’d seen. But now was not the time for those thoughts. “He’s usually around training. I’m not sure where he is at the moment, but you can probably check the cliffs. He usually trains there with his team… or by himself, but that place is a safe bet.” Kanami paused at the word team. The teen’s team was basically hospitalized. Not much thanks on her part…
The vixen moved the long bang in front of her face out of the way and stretched her arms upwards. Himoto just didn’t know when to leave her alone, but the situation seemed urgent. “Thanks for telling me. I’ll get over there and help Misaki-chan right now.”. The Hyuuga princess began to ran off, but then stopped and turned back. She bent down and extended her arm with a smile. “Sorry! My manners have been slipping lately and there is no excuse for that. It is a pleasure to meet you Nadeshiko-chan!.

'...cliffs? Okay, well, that's kind of helpful too, but...' Nadeshiko wasn't going to ask where Uchiha Sukotto was most likely to be, but rather what he looked like. The whereabouts of most anyone on this island Nadeshiko could make a few guesses on. She herself was about to leave when Kanami turned her back to her, but then stopped short as Kanami promptly turned around to take care of formalities. Nadeshiko was caught off her guard. " Eh? Oh, um...it is a pleasure to meet you to Kanami-san." And (Kanami should feel grateful) Nadeshiko smiled shyly and sweetly, which was an extremely rare occasion. Nadeshiko hardly ever smiles; she laughs and grins a good deal more (though there has hardly been anything to laugh or grin about lately). And odd thing happens when Nadeshiko smiles, and that is when you can tell if it is a true smile or not; her entire face lights up with the same amount of joy put into her smile.

The young girl’s coy smile seemed able to perk the spirits of the entire training grounds. There was something special about it that just made the dire situation the village had gotten into a bit less. Kanami didn’t think anyone of the children could smile like that anymore in the village. Maybe Brassa, but that was about it. The Hyuuga teen may have to get Nadeshiko to teach the rest of the children how to smile before. Kami knows one certain boy could learn how to do it. It always made people better when they saw a smiling person. “Nadeshiko-chan you have a great smile. I hope you can perk up the rest of your classmates with it. Some of them are pretty broody now. Just make sure you don’t let them bring you down and you lose that smile. Anyways there’s a few people who need some Hyuuga lovin’ to get them back on their feet!” the diva rose again and began heading off into the direction of the shore. As she walked off at a quick pace the night blue head whipped around to take one more look at the student. “Let’s both do our best today!” the teen idol shouted with a small wave before her frame sped off to the shoreline.

Nadeshiko was about to say something else to Kanami (yes, again), but then Kanami stopped her by saying something about her smile. She was smiling? Was that supposed to be a compliment anyways? Perk up tha rest of her classmates? Well, that totally threw Nadeshiko off. In her state of confusion, she lost track of whatever thread she was holding onto. But she did, at least, understand when Kanami said to do her best today. Since she did her best on most days, she felt this was of little consequnce, but somehow she felt more eager to get to work now. She shrugged and headed off to the the cliffs, but Nadeshiko still felt the information provided by Kanami was not generous enough. Oh well. she woudl try her luck. After all, there couldn't possibly be that many active shinobi right now.
