There was a strange crackling sound as Xyn traveled to the previous clearing. At first he suspected it was simply his footsteps crushing the leaves and twigs on the ground, but the area was much too moist to make such a fresh sound. He decided not to let it bother him and didn't slow his pace, but he gradually became aware that the sound was coming from directly ahead. Each of his steps growing smaller in their stride, Xyn eventually came to a stop. Some animal moving through the treetops? No, the sound wasn't coming from above.

The boy attempted to move forward, but halted when the sound reverberated off the surrounding trees, much louder than it was before. This was no animal. Not knowing which direction to go, Xyn tried his best to stay calm, then it came.

CRACK! CRASH! One of the trees along the path finally gave in to its own weight, probably having been damaged during the Spring and only just now falling. Xyn was forced to the right, slamming his body into a tree, but managing to slip behind it as the plummeting tree came from the left. The other trees that would have provided support gave way as it came down. It was no longer a matter of avoiding the tree as more came down. The whole event had only lasted a few seconds, and then all was quiet. Xyn waited for a moment, slightly in shock, then started to walk back for the bundle he had abandoned, kicking each tree that he passed just to be sure none of the rest would fall. After taking a minute to climb back over the trees, grab his cloak, and carry the load back over the trees to the open path, Xyn started to grumble over all the trouble they had caused, then he realized...

Placing the bundle carefully against a tree, Xyn took the cloak and climbed back over the trees. The limbs at the tops of the trees were much thicker and sure to be dry. Taking these would probably be his best source of wood, although collecting it would take some time... well, no point wasting the opportunity.

Scrape... scrape... scrape...

Xyn had slightly overdone it on the amount of wood he thought he could carry. The cloak was now holding together dozens of branches, limbs, and broken wood of varying sizes. He wasn't using all his strength to drag the load, but it was a long way back to the entrance of the forest, so there was no point in exhausting all his energy, especially this early in the day. It was only after the majority of the work had been done that Munin finally appeared, comically adding his weight to the bundle as he landed, making his way up the cloth toward Xyn's hands with several steps and hops. Slightly irritated, Xyn let go of the cloak, but any response he could have given was cut short but Munin navigating to his left shoulder. Usually the raven would still be asleep at this hour, but recently he'd simply stay up the entire night and simply sleep during the afternoon. It didn't affect the boy either way, but sometimes he wondered what this bird was thinking...

"I guess... you're not gonna help?" Xyn glanced at his partner, who simply pretended not to understand what the boy was saying, using his beak to pick out the loose feathers and adjust the others underneath his wings. Xyn didn't expect a response, but he still thought the raven would at least acknowledge him.

Finally making it back to the entrance, a task that only took a few minutes, but was no less tiring as he constantly jerked and stopped every handful of steps.

"That's enough..." Xyn made a quick survey of the amount of wood he gathered, then made his way out of the forest. The next thing he needed was fire, ash, clean water, and a pot to boil the water in... well, maybe all that could wait until the two of them got something to eat. He doubted anyone would take a pile of wood, so Xyn made sure to lay the pile in a slightly out-of-the-way spot next to a clearly marked tree and went back to his room to get a clean cloak.

Sorri

PostPosted: Sun Oct 17, 2010 1:16 pm

"Sorrow...deep distress, sadness, or regret especally for the los of someone or something loved."...We condemed this island the moment it warmed our hearts

It had been a bright day in Shima, the future had been a beautifuldream not to far from the grasp of the entire community. Sorri was small and astonished by the wonderful colors. Everything was so bright, and vibrant, and new to the uneducated eskimoan-like child. He watched the people grip stones as if everythingthat held them back had been in the hands and then they let it all go into that dark dreary swampland. A sweel of energy was conjored from a Ms' Yuki. She placed it atop all those stones of sorrow, rooted, and grew a vast forrest .There, in front, stood little Sorri in staring at the new land amazed. It had been created by these positive people all hoping for new beginnings.

Sorri slowed to a walk once he came to the gate.

As Sorri stood at the gate to the Forest of Sorrows, he would clearly see that it had been chained up and marked with a sign strictly forbidding anyone under the rank of Chuunin from entering. The two crows he had chased were actually perched on top of this gate. One of them caught sight of the Ibazi and cawed loudly at him. A distinct gurgling accompanied this call, making it sound as if a dying and desperate crow had made this sound. The two birds then lifted themselves from the fence and retreated deeper into the forest. A slight wind picked up, blowing through the trees and unleashing a few more unidentifiable noises that came from the interior of the forest. It was highly likely that once Sorri entered the forest, he would be on his own. There was no telling what sorts of beasts were in the forest in addition to the crows, and the crows themselves appeared to be quite strong on their own. This would be Sorri's last chance to change his mind and turn back to group up with the squad at the lagoon.

If he chose to enter the forest, he would notice a large chasm that had been carved into the ground. It was so deep that it was likely that someone could get hurt or killed if they fell into it. At that present moment, it would be unclear to him what caused this tear in the earth.

Choice for Sorri:

1. Regroup back at the Lagoon with Sukotto, Akiko, and the others.

2. Climb over the fence and seek out the crows.

If option #2 is selected

"They they think your weak" Side a figure to the left side of Sorri. It's atire almost identical to the Ibazi but a full black with the stripes turned grey and ice blue blood splatters randomly placed all over the hoodie. The face had been shadowed by its hood, only the eyes were veiwable. The eyes of a cold blooded killer, Dhan Meho's eyes "No, they think your dumb"Said a figure to the right of Sorri. The hoodie, again, like Sorri's but a full white with grey stripes and hand sized, sark red infinity symbols around the brim and shoulder area. It's hands were bound together, as were its feet. The hood had been off, it was Shinichi.

Once Sorri hade made up his mind, both disperesed. Dhan sinked into its shadow and Shinichi condensed into a ball of light, then faded away.
The Genin turned around, only to see the troup already on their way.

Enter from Polluted Lagoon and Waterfall

As Sukotto neared the entrance to the Forest of Sorrows, he spotted none other than Ibazi Sorri. He was quite surprised to see the Genin in this location, especially since he was alone. However, Sukotto felt as though there wasn't enough time to scold the youth for having wandered off on his own.
"Ibazi Sorri, what brought you to the forest, did you see something?" It honestly felt a bit odd to be one of the senior ninja at this time. Sukotto felt as though he was ready, it had just seemed like it had only been yesterday when he had been training alongside Seshiro and Kouri, getting rocks thrown at the whole lot by Tategami Shuga. Oh how the times had changed. The Uchiha hoped that the Ibazi had some useful information, but if not, he was happy to have another ninja enter the squad as they needed all of the help that they could get.

Akiko took her time getting there. Certainly, others may be in danger, and there was a pressing urgency in the overall mission. However, it was good to take one's time and do a job well. After all, if the two ninja had simply walked there at the same time and in close proximity, that may prove to be dangerous. These creatures weren't smart, and it was true that they could overwhelm an individual if he or she were alone, but with the advantage of surprise one might not even need to worry about defending. That wasn't to say that defenses should be ignored, of course, but it was beneficial to move separately, anyhow. She moved through the treetops as she passively watched her surroundings.

"Two demented looking crows fly there way here once I cuaght them having a bruch on a body, I chased them and they wait on the gat. They squaked at me then flew off into the the bog of the chasm, I guesss they figure I'd follow them into a trap." Sorri turned around facing the gate looking through its gaps....
"There was his wind that picked up out of now where, a gurgled kind of roar followed it..maybe it was just a beast tryign to claim territory through intimidation, or some sort of taunt, either way...Uchina Skutto, I want to rid the island of these nightmarish remnants of the Black Spring."

He chuckled a bit, thinking of ther gap between there skills "Back me up?" It was a joke a small one, Sorri to a kunia from the holster and grip it with his left hand and stood, still facing the gate, waiting for the Chunin to lead.

Sukotto nodded as Sorri told him of what he had seen. "I'm glad that you didn't pursue them on your own. You may have been able to defeat the birds, but there is no telling what else you would have found beyond this gate." Maia had chosen to travel at a bit of a distance back from Sukotto. He was glad to see that the girl was thinking strategically; for this mission he needed ninja that he could depend on. "Unfortunately, I don't have a key to get into the gate, but it shouldn't be too hard to climb over. The lock is mainly used to ward off villagers and younger students anyway." With that said, Sukotto made his way towards the fence, easily scaled it, and then hopped down to the other side. He began to wonder what they would see within the forest. He had heard of some really terrible things that had already unfolded in the area, and was determined to check out what its most present state was.

"No key? I actually though you would have, geusss its at the Kage's office then." It was not mater the gate was high, but nothing Sorri couldn't cheat his way over. He drove the held kunia onto the gate and then took ten paces backward before running at the gate jumping on the ninja tool with on foot and pulvated his wasto the top of the gate with his back arched, tucking to to a backflip just in time to land on his heels and fall on his butt.

Akiko noticed the duo attempting to enter the sealed area. She didn't have all the information she needed, but she supposed it was a matter of time before she found out. She stayed on the alert for any new developments. She waited until the others were securely over the fence, watching their backs in case something decided to attack just then. However, they made it safely, so it was her turn. She leapt from branch to branch, getting closer to the fence. She could see another jump she could make, though it would be tricky. In her mind, she calculated the course her body would take when flying through the air. It looked feasible, anyway. She attempted it... but she came just short. She scraped her arm on the fence, though she did manage to catch it and prevent herself from falling.

Akiko blushed a little, embarrassed that her teammates had made it over with such grace and she had not. She shook that emotion aside for now, instead focusing on the path ahead. It seemed pulling herself up and over would be more difficult than simply jumping, and the fence was already biting into her palms. She summoned the strength, however, and soon found herself at the top. She tried her best to avoid the jagged top edge, but her sleeve caught it as she flipped over. Finding herself hanging off the interior side, things became a little easier. She looked for a nearby branch and leapt to it, swinging up into the boughs. After looking around to make sure the area was clear, she proceeded through the treetops, keeping a safe distance from the party.

Sukotto smiled a little as Sorri claimed that he had fallen to the ground on purpose. The Uchiha had little reason to visit the forest before this day, so he rarely bothered to keep the key to the gate on him. He noticed that Akiko had also made her way over the fence. She was keeping a bit of space between herself and the squad, which wasn't a bad idea. He wondered how much Aya and Yuki had taught the girl about the life of a shinobi, as she seemed to be quite skilled for her age. Aya had been quite skilled from a very young age herself, so the Uchiha wondered if the Tenmoki simply had a knack for picking things up quickly when they were younger. Before he found himself daydreaming, Sukotto decided that he'd get his focus back to the mission and speak to the pair about what they were going to do next. "Sorri, the three of us will search for infected beasts and clues about the infection itself. We may run into those birds that you spoke of, so be on your guard. We will search in a wide formation, but make sure to always keep at least either Akiko or myself within your sight." To be honest, Sukotto didn't know what to expect in the forest. It was much more populated with wildlife than the lagoon was and there would be a chance that the three of them would run into something they couldn't handle. He wished that the rest of the squad would join them more quickly, but he couldn't wait for them, as time was of the essence. "Also, keep a lookout for any strange looking staves, as Akiko and I found one at the lagoon and we believe that it may have something to do with the infection. However, make sure you don't come into contact with these objects, as they most likely have traps placed on them."

After explaining their next task to Sorri, the Chuunin made his way over to Akiko to tell her the same thing. "We're going to search this area for more infected creatures and more clues of the source of the infection. Sorri reported seeing two infected birds that entered the forest, so be on guard." Since their numbers had thinned, Sukotto would most likely have to step into any battles, as he had done when Akiko and himself had encountered the crab. Unfortunately, this meant that he wouldn't be able to do any more training for a while. "We're going to search in a wide formation, so make sure that you keep at least one of us in sight at all times, just like you've already been doing." WIth that said, Sukotto positioned himself between Akiko and Sorri. He would merely act as support for the two of them and allow his two squad members to do the searching.

Search the Forest
Sukotto has asked Akiko and Sorri to enter a wide search formation in order to find anything related to the infection within the Forest of Sorrows.

Sorri nodded at the instructions and lookwd over at Akiko, he had almost forgorren who she was. Akiko had helped him out during the apartment area reconstruction after it the fire. Heh, now everything, along with the apartments would need to be rebuilt. Sorri's mind began to trial off., were any of the villigers blueprinting? Were they gsthering supplies? Grouping together and helping one another? He hoped so. It would be horrible to be singled out without house over your head and an empty stomach at such dark times. these kinds of conditiovs could lead to peoplementaly breaking. He still had more clothes to give out once he go back home, also still had some scroll serching to do.
