"I do smell don't I." After a cautious sniff, he was convinced that a shower and meal would be right up his alley. Reaching inside his mind, Mike flicked the 'Hero Mode' switch to off, allowing him a much deserved sigh of fatigue. He now had the clairvoyance to realize that he was really tired. Infiltrating evil organizations to rescue chicks really takes it out of you. He thanked his lucky stars that Bahamut was energetic enough to fly them both back to the Center, like hell he was going to swim the way back. He shuddered at the very thought of it. "Well, let's get going then!" Mike hopped onto the Flygon. Having flown on Pokemon many times before, he was comfortable enough not to need to hold on to anyone.
However, that didn't stop him from convincing the recently liberated Sasha that it would be a good idea.

Flygon flapped her mighty wings once and was lifted into the air. A few more beats of her wings brought her over the cliff. Much higher than was necessary, it seemed, as she received a light kick in the side from her trainer. The Dragon-type flew a little lower and aimed for the spot right in front of the red-roofed building. She didn't carry the three trainers for long. The flight was two minutes, tops.
When she landed, Kilik hopped off with Mike and Sasha and recalled her. "Man. It's been a long day..." he yawned, clipping the ball back to his belt. Taking a step into the Pokemon Center and being blasted by the air conditioning was a welcome relief as well. The nurse standing behind the counter gave him a welcoming smile. "Weren't you here this morning?" she asked, tilitng her head. The boy nodded and handed over all six of his Pokeballs.
"Typical trainer stuff," he said. Kilik walked over to the couches and plopped down on one, resting on his back and staring up at the ceiling. His arm dangled loosely off the side, and another sigh burst from his lungs. "This feels soooo good...." he stretched with a laugh. Part of him really wanted to battle and especially train Lairon: the behemoth was starting to listen to him a little better and perhaps with more training, he'd be a powerful (and obedient) Aggron. He smiled at the thought.

"Hmm, not so fast," Flannery chuckled, waggling a finger. However, her voice nor her gesture could be heard nor seen due to the intense Surf attack tearing through the gym. "Camerupt, use Protect!" she shouted, watching as her Pokemon encased itself within a glowing green shield just as the tremendous downpour toppled onto it. Flannery winced at the sight of the water, though knowing her Pokemon was protected she couldn't help but fear what would happen if the shield broke. Either way, she knew it would end soon enough, she was just holding out for as long as possible. The water ebbed away, revealing her Camerupt to be just the way it was before. Both trainer and Pokemon grinned at their challengers, showing that they weren't the leaders of this gym for nothing.
Kasiya gave a little squeak and pulled her legs up off of the floor as to keep her shoes dry, missing the sight of Flannery's Pokemon keeping safe with Protect. That's gotta be it... she thought, reaching over and pulling Levi closer to her. The Marshtomp stared in awe at the intensity of the Surf attack, hoping that someday her own Surf could be as devastating as Althena's. They both gasped at the sight of Camerupt emerging from the waves unharmed, and Kasiya made a mental note that Flannery's Camerupt was capable of using Protect. This is gonna be tricky, she thought.

"You said it." Agreed the boy as he handed off his Pokemon. "You guys deserve a long rest after that."
"Uh, yeah, sure." Nurse Joy was acting strange, looking back at Mike every few seconds as if he was going to steal something.
The boy raised an eyebrow at the woman's odd behavior. "What?" He looked around. Maybe there was something on his face? He walked over to the PC, the unlit screen made for a decent makeshift mirror. It was then he realized he was still wearing his Magma uniform. A wave of utter embarrassment washed over the boy as he quickly disrobed, leaving him in only the undershirt and boxers. "Sorry Nurse Joy, it's just me." Red in the face, Mike ran to the washroom before she could respond.
Sasha shook her head at the boy's impulsiveness, smiling and handing over Prickles Great Ball to the Nurse. "Long story. Him and Kilik just saved me from Team Aqua. I was tied up and everything." The girl laughed it off, the whole incident almost transforming into a sort of demented field trip.
"Oh my." gasped the Nurse. "That must have been awful!"
"Yeah, it's was pretty bad." Sasha glanced over at Kilik, a light shade of red showing on her face. "But I had two heroic guys to save me, so I'll be alright. I just need a shower." With another short laugh, the pink haired trainer walked off to the girl's washroom, eager to wipe the dried blood off her face.

Kilik smiled when Sasha looked at him then stood up to stretch a bit. He caught a whiff of himself and felt a little bad for ridiculing Mike for smelling. He wasn't exactly the scent of spring daisies, either. Scratching the back of his head, Kilik walked off towards the bathroom. He opened the door and slipped inside so that nobody else in the lobby (not that there was anybody) would see Mike changing. The black haired boy lifted his shirt over his head and looked in the mirror.
"Heya Mike!" he laughed, giving him a light slap on the shoulder. He walked over to one of the shower stalls, grabbed a fresh towel, hung it on the hook outside the stall, and closed the door. Because of his height, Kilik's head still poked from over the door. "So where are you headed after this?" he asked, unbuttoning his jeans and tossing them over the stall's door. They landed with a light thud on the other side, along with his shirt and waist-bag. He kicked his shoes off from under the door and peeled his socks off. They made it over to his pants along with his black boxer shorts. He peered over the door and wiggled his toes. "Could you toss those into the washer with yours?"

Mike winced as Kilik's hand collided with his back. Mike had a pretty small frame, and while his friend's hands were far from mammoth, they were still big enough to hurt. "Haa-ey Kilik." He said through grit teeth. "Sure, but I'll have to put it on cold so your clothes don't turn red." Removing the metal admin pin from his Magma uniform, Mike stuffed it in along with his usual clothes and Kilik's. He looked around and while no one was looking quickly ripped his boxers (flame adorned of course) off and threw them in as well, wrapping a towel around his waist.
"I don't really have a major game plan for where I'm going after this." said the boy as he climbed into the shower stall, tossing the towel over the door and starting the water. After the initial ice cold water warmed up to an acceptable boiling hot temperature Mike dove right in, soap suds going everywhere. "I'm thinking of running to the store tomorrow to pick up a move for Portabello, and after that I'm gonna train Napalm. You?" Before Kilik could answer, Mike squeezed a near gallon of shampoo onto his head and scrubbed viciously, the oceanic air wrecked his hair like nothing else.
Sasha's trip to the washroom was a much lonelier one. The fact that she could hear muffled voices from the boy's room only made the experience that much more depressing. The shower filled the silence as she washed her self clean from the day's events. "I have got to be more careful." She said under her breath.

Kilik let out a cry when the cold water hit against his body, but sighed heavily as the water became warm enough to bear. A chill went up his spine and he began to scrub his arms and in between each finger. He looked over at the other stall to see the top of Mike's head covered in shampoo. "Me?" he blinked and paused for a minute, letting the water trail down him. Once more he wiggled his toes.
"I'm thinking I'll train Lairon all day tomorrow," he laughed, rubbing his shoulders now, "then I'm off to Slateport for the Beach Party. Seems that some Professor Rowan is making a big announcement there." He closed his eyes and splashed his face with the warm soapy water that he allowed to pool up in his hands. He shook his head, went right for the shampoo (coconut scented) and rubbed his hair vigorously with it. "Of course, I'd figure you know all about that." Kilik arched backwards, popping his lower back with another happy sigh. As the water rinsed the shampoo and soap of his body, the boy placed a hand on the tiled wall and took a moment to enjoy the water.
"You think Sasha's gonna be alright?" he looked over at the wall separating the two stalls, "That was a pretty...awful experience."

It was Keegan's turn to be frantic when he saw the large Camerupt emerge from the Surf attack unscathed, and he clenched both his fists to his sides, growling slightly. How did she do that?! he thought desperately, having not heard the order for a Protect, nor had he seen the familiar green glow of its shield. For a moment, he toyed with the idea of having dreamt that he ordered a Surf attack, but he shook the thought away, clearly seeing the remains of the water draining away through the cracks in the gym.
He clenched his fist and brought it up, staring at it while his mind struggled for answers. He had the clear advantage here; there was no way he would let it fall away now. "Althena!" he shouted, fist trembling with adrenalin. "Ice Beam, now!"
Althena concentrated, sending the frigid beam of ice towards her opponent, frost and steam coming off of it the entire time. We can do this! he thought, clenching his other hand into a tight fist. We can win this one!

Flannery raised an eyebrow at the sight of the frosty beam headed for her Pokemon, and knew full-well that there was no way to have her Pokemon avoid it, and she didn't want to waste the turn trying to have Camerupt use Protect again, lest it fail. The Ice Beam struck Camerupt square in the shoulder as the large Pokemon turned to avoid taking another hit in the face, and it bellowed loudly, not liking the searing cold on its ruddy hide. I thought for sure he'd use Surf or Water Pulse again, she thought, scratching her chin. Oh well, we'll make him pay for that mistake! "Okay Camerupt, use Overheat!" Flannery shouted. "Hit 'em hard!"
Camerupt let out a mighty roar which shook the room like another Earthquake. Violent flames erupted from the mini volcanoes on its back, spilling out everywhere. Camerupt's Overheat was far more intense than Megu's had been, and even Flannery had to step back from the scorching heat.
"Wow!" Kasiya cried, watching Camerupt take the Ice Beam like a true champ, then fight back with a devastating Fire-attack. The trainer turned her body so to protect the young Pokemon from feeling any effects of the fiery attack, wondering just how she and her Pokemon would handle the heat out there. Flannery is truly amazing, Kasiya thought, looking towards the older girl with a deep sense of respect. She stole a glance Keegan's way, admiring him as well. The flames from the Overheat seemed to highlight him in all the right places, and Kasiya silently scolded herself for never noticing just how handsome he really was. He sure is something too, she mused, feeling her heart skip a beat as she watched him put his all into the gym battle. Imagine what he'll be like in a few years' time... Her heart seemed to catch fire as she thought about the two of them together in the future, and for a frightening moment, she realized she'd never felt this strongly about anyone before, not even Mike. It was terrifying, yet wonderful at the same time. What is this? she thought, blinking fearfully. Is this... love? Without realizing it, she'd nearly squeezed the daylights out of poor little Levi as she held the Pokemon in a headlock, and she giggled a bit sheepishly as she let go. Levi shook her head at the strange girl, wondering what had come over her trainer. Humans, the Pokemon thought, glad to not be one of them.

In all his time, Keegan had never witnessed a fire attack so powerful before. The overwhelming heat had brought him down to a knee, and he remained in that position, squinting at the battlefield. The flames covered so much of the gym's area that Althena had no where to go, and the Golduck huddled on the ground, screeching loudly as even the water type found herself pained by the fierce attack. When it was over, Althena was still able to continue, but at a price - it had been a critical hit. Althena pulled herself to her feet, refusing to show how much she was hurting, and she turned to Keegan, waving at him as if to say 'what are you waiting for? Let's go!'
Keegan grit his teeth and punched the ground, feeling the heat exhaustion start to get to him. He silently cursed himself for not bringing a bottle of water with him, and he felt a slight wave of dizziness wash over him. It was then he glanced up at Kasiya, and he came to the realization she was watching him. There was something different about the way she was looking at him, and he too felt something stir in his heart. He wore a lopsided grin as he pulled himself to his feet, and looked to Althena. "Water Pulse!" he shouted, as though he'd never felt weakened at all. "Full power, Althena!"
Nodding, the Golduck jumped high into the air, forming the watery ring between her webbed hands. Throwing everything she could into it, she then hurled it down towards the Camerupt, letting out an ear-shattering cry as she did so.

Flannery couldn't help but smile as she watched her two friends exchange a glance - and not just any glance, it was the glance, and it quietly reminded her of her own sweetheart, off somewhere on his journey and probably getting himself into all sorts of trouble...
But now wasn't the time to dwell on that, as Keegan's feisty Golduck had finally managed to bring down Camerupt. The large Pokemon cried out weakly before collapsing, and Flannery sighed as she recalled the Pokemon. "You're tougher than I thought, Keegan," Flannery said honestly, placing the Pokeball onto her belt. "If I'm going to stand a chance at winning here, I'd better step it up a little." She held up her third Pokeball, grinning as it glinted in the lighting from the gym's ceiling. "It's all up to you now," she told the sphere, throwing it as Camerupt's picture dimmed and a new one appeared below it - Flannery's trademark Torkoal. The small tortoise appeared on the battlefield, strangely small in comparison to the previous Pokemon that had been out. It snorted, and a thick, white smoke poured from its nostrils and from the coals set in its back. "Body Slam!" Flannery commanded sharply.
Torkoal let out a cry and pulled its limbs into its shell before propelling itself forward with a burst of flames, intent on slamming its shell into the Golduck.
Kasiya cheered quietly as Camerupt went down, knowing full-well that she'd have to take on that Pokemon very soon herself. She recognized the Torkoal though, and sat up straight in her seat, wondering what the outcome of this battle would be. Althena looks exhausted, she thought, watching the Golduck carefully. It was odd how much she'd changed from when she was a Psyduck. She looked down at Levi, resting comfortably on her lap and sighed. How different would Leviathan be if she ever decided to become a Swampert?

Mike's eyebrow raised at the mention of the Beach Party. "Yes," He replied. "Yes I know so much about it, that I feel the need to quiz you on your knowledge of the subject. Such as the time and place." He smiled to himself, happy Kilik couldn't see. Oh, you're one smooth operator, Kyoka. A beach party would be fun. He could invite his lovely ladyfriend and get the chance to see her in a swimsuit again, that'd be nice. Mmm... He had a wide smile just thinking about it.
The Cherrygrove festival came to mind. Those comfortable flowing kimonos and the tasty food, he even got Felsic there. He sighed a little sigh remembering the adorable Cyndaquil popping out from his egg. It seemed like only yesterday that the little guy was hanging off his shoulder, being all cute. "They grow up fast..." the boy said under his breath, smiling once more.
"I'm sure she'll be alright." replied the boy. "I've only known her for a little while, but she's a tough girl. Cute too. She'll be fine."
In the next room, Sasha had pressed herself up against the wall leading to the boy's washroom to listen in on their conversation. "Beach Party eh?" Some time to flaunt her good looks would be nice. Upon being mentioned her heart jumped a bit. He thinks I'm tough? A giggle escaped the girl as she continued to listen.

Ky cringed as the second Screech pierced the air. Not high enough to avoid it, Little Guy took the blast with full effect. The mix of the high-pitched frequencies with the fast-moving gales of sand left Little Guy to bob and weave as he tried to regain his flight control. Seeing this, Ky could tell Little Guy was open to whatever attack Crenu was planning, and knowing that the attack would be a finisher if it hit, Ky's choices were reduced to one last drastic maneuver. "Little Guy, dive in there and use Confuse Ray point blank!" Ky called out. "And don't miss!"
Not even stalling for a second, Little Guy immediately tucked in his wings to dive down from above. Ignoring the sharp bits of sand carving away at his body, he closed the distance until he was deep within range. A shining rainbow-ish light then fired from Natu's locked eyes, aiming to hit Larvitar square in the face.
"Third time's a charm," Ky whispered, crossing his fingers behind his back as he watched Little Guy pull up within dangerous proximity to his opponent.

Keegan couldn't help but feel relieved when he saw Camerupt finally fall, and he let out a tremendous sigh, wiping his forehead with the back of his gloved hand. Two down, one to go, he thought, already knowing that he'd be seeing Flannery's Torkoal next. He knew it was her toughest gym Pokemon, but on the bright side, he still had one fully healthy Pokemon left as well. If Althena could land some damage before she got taken out, then it could be a cakewalk from there...
The Torkoal came spiraling towards Althena at a surprisingly fast rate, and the Golduck jumped up and over to nimbly avoid the oncoming Body Slam. However, neither she nor her trainer anticipated Torkoal to pivot and come back the other way, hitting her from behind instead. Althena was knocked face-first to the ground, and try as she may, she could not find the strength to get back up again.
"Althena..." Keegan sighed, holding up the Pokeball to recall the fainted Golduck. "You were great, I couldn't have asked for a better effort." He smiled as he clipped the Pokeball back onto the strap and reached for his final Pokemon. "It's do or die," he murmured as he threw the Great Ball. Come on Tierra, don't let me down! he thought, watching the Golem emerge from the sphere. As usual, however, the Pokemon was pretty much asleep, the hot, humid atmosphere of the gym doing little to affect the rock type. "All right Tierra! It's time for action! Use your Magnitude!" he shouted. Tierra didn't respond though; only continued to sleep soundly. Keegan sighed, shaking his head. I should have went with Themis, he thought sadly.

Flannery groaned inwardly when she saw the Golem appear on the battlefield. She'd had a sinking suspicion since she witnessed its evolution that it would be used in this battle, and Keegan hadn't let her down. She chuckled softly, looking to her Pokemon. "We're not going to give in though," she mumbled, placing her hands on her hips and brushing the red hair from her eyes. It was a tad surprising that the sleeping Golem hadn't responded to Keegan's command, and Flannery grinned, deciding that she would make the best of it right now. "Well, if it's gonna just lie there in sleep, we might as well buff ourselves up! Okay Torkoal, use Curse!" she shouted.
Torkoal withdrew its head inside its shell and spewed out a pillar of cloudy smoke from its coals, spinning around twice as it increased its physical stats at the cost of reducing its speed. It would be of little consequence, seeing as how the fiery tortoise wasn't fast to begin with.
"Oh no, not Tierra," Kasiya said with a sigh, burying her face in her hands. "Why didn't he use Themis?" She eyed the sleeping Golem and shook her head, wishing the Rock-type would hurry and wake up. It might have to take a hit or two before it actually realizes it is in a battle, she thought, patting Levi on the head. The Marshtomp had covered parts of her body in ice from her Ice Ball ability to help keep herself cool, and the melting ice was creating a pool of water all around her, which Levi was now playing in happily.
