As the snow blanketed the land, and continued to roll out, sweeping t'ward the horizon, Surt stood unflinching before Rake, a stern expression on his features.

"I'll admit, the last time we met, I had assumed Ragnarok would be enough to deal with anything that dared to fued with my quest, however."

As he spoke, the ground began to tremble, the tremmors gradually growing stronger as moments passed, the shaking spanning out, alike the winter of winters that still passed the horizon, turning Gaia into a wastland.

"I've taken measures this time. I wont allow that celestian, to muddle the plans. This time, i'm prepared, with the real Ragnarok. The doom of the gods."

With that, he suddenly raised his right hand over his head, and the ground was splintered with a booming shockwave, as something began to rise up from beneath the stone under the sands.

A rock, granted, a monstrous rock, yet still, it was a rock. This towering boulder was spewed up from a mile deep in the earth, and as the stone continued to rise up from the depths, a hulking, beastial figure came into being.

The stone Gioll held captive, with aid of thousands of chains, and a single, lengthy ribbon known as Gleipnir. The beast struggled fiercly amongst the chains, howling with maws braced open with a large sword.

"Break your fetters, Fenrir!" (alternatively, 'enris')

At Surts word, the titan like wolf brandished its muscles, hulking its form and the chains shattered, and the ribbon tore apart. Finally free of its prison, the wolf moved to stand behind Surt, towering over him, and lowered its head.

"Fenrir, the eldest child of Loki and Angrboda. He, is the one that bit of the hand of the god Tyr."

Surt then reached into the monster's maw, and gripped the large swords hilt. enveloped by a golden light, the sword shrank to a much more suited size for the demon king, and the wolf's jaws were free'd, as Surt rested the sword over his shoulder. In the shape of a broad sword, the blade had countless reasonably sized teeth lining the two edges, rather then raditional cutting edges.

The wolf then raised it's head, shaking its free'd maw violently, before letting go a roaring howl. As the beast howeled, the air around the trio of monsters, Rake, Surt and the wolf, was forced away, creating a great shockwave that flooded out across the battle grounds. However, it was the countless ghostly wolves of a much more appropriate size that rushed out from it's throat that would pique ones interest.

Hundreds of the ghostly wolves rained down on the battle field, and gradually became solid, before rushing off to attack the various members of the DeSeer party.

Smirking now, Surt raised his left hand, and closed his hand, save for the index and thumb talons, then curled the finger, daring Rake.

"To answer your query, i'm as old as your heir's father, if not older."

It was then, that Fenrircocked his head, staring down at Rake from behind Surt, and opened his jaws once more, and howeled.

As the stream of the monsters 'siblings raced out from his jaws, ready to bury Rake, the seas began to stir. Whirpools began to rise up, and tidal waves rushed the coast lines, crushing the earth and it's structures beneath there force. From an upper atmospheric view, it was possible to see the cause. A creature far larger then the savage Fenrir, gradually materializing. A serpent, wrapped around land of gaia, however its length still grew.

Grinning, Surt called out.

"Welcome, to the final battle field. Welcome, to VIGROND!"

As the snow and ice fell from the sky after Abbadon's retaliation against the wave, he began searching for the lost Ragnarok.

"Damnit, where'd that s**t go. COME OUT HERE AND FIGHT!"

Aggrivaited, however ofcourse not surprised when Ragnarok didn't comply, Abbadon focused his attention for a moment on the injury to his right hand. With a vague wash of saphire in his eyes, and a slight flutter in the angelic wings that adorned his head, behind the hellion, the chunk of flesh that had been blasted from his hand began to rapidly regenerate, scales and all.

He then turned his attention toward the ground, where his sword had landed. Gradually starting to descend, he after a moment stopped, and smirked.

.:Thats what the little gitt wants me to do. He's weak, in comparison to my greatest form, however he isn't thinking with a tatter for a brain.:.

It was then that the tremmors brought about by the arrival of Fenrir began to rock the terrain. Smirking, Abbadon began scanning the ground below for any signs of movement with his soul sight.

It didn't take long for Ragnarok to slip up, and use some mana to avoid falling into a fissure that had opened up under him. As Ragnarok kept himself suspended in the air, the ice and stones he had been hiding behind fell into the fissure, and he was left in the open. Looking up into the sky, he saw Abaddon, and his eyes grew wide with fright.

"Nidhogg's claws have no limits in reach!"

He had his newly regenerated right hand raised and crossed over his chest abve his left shoulder, a dark violet aura rising like mist from the scales and claws.

Desperately, Ragnarok raced across the snow covered ground, speeding like a bullet t'ward the remaining masses of Hades' forces. Despite the celestian's efforts, Abaddon slashed his right hand across his chest, and instantly, the fissure like carvings were torn through the army, pulling them, and the ground apart.

Abaddon then repeated, after noticing the target had barely escaped the first attack, and tore up yet more of the army, all the while, Nidhogg's maw, still stuck in the ground below Abaddon sucked up all of the souls as they were ripped from the shattered beings.

"Stand and brave my attacks, you cowardly worm!"

"Not likely, although I doubt you COULD hit me, even if I stood still. What ARE you aiming at?!"

"THATS it!"

Drawing his right elbow back, and tensing his entire right arm, Abadon began focusing even more energy into the arm, as a small obsidian orb began to develope in his palm. As both crimson and raven bolts of energy crackled about his arm, and the scales that guarded his right arm shook, clattering against eachother, he called out with a haunting whisper that echoed like a thunderous roar.

"First curse. Fifth obliteration spell."

Hearing his words, Ragnarok quickened his pace, kicking up two walls of snow, ice and his own men behind him due to his speed.

.:"Damn, I wanted him to use up his energy so I could stand a better chance, but this might be abit much.":.

"Apocalypse flurry!"

Abaddon then swung his right arm, as he had done before, however this time, there was a fissure like carving not only for each claw, but for each razor edged scale aswell.

Needless to say, a vast area was riped apart by the fissures, and each one was backed up by the force of the obliteration spell, causing the central section of each fissure to reach into an abyss like depth.

*It stood across from Surt, the calm of imminent battle laying between them. It watched dispassionately as Surt made his next move and its quirked an eyebrow at the ensuing madness*

That young? No wonder you're so fool..... AAAHHHHHHHGGGGGGHHHHH!!!!!

*Breifly, it cried out before Surt as Azrael so neatly dissected Roan's soul. Now, Surt was NOT faced with the combined forces of Roana nd Take. Now it was dealing with the TRUE Rake, no split souls in the way. THough thoughts of each remained, it was beyond two seperate entites. As the scream died away, its weaponry shifted until seven blades nestled around its body, some visible, some almost transparent. As the wolves began to come forth from Surt's attack, the red circle appeared under Rake's feet, MANY symbols revolving aroiund like a combination lock under its feet. Looking up with blank eyes, it grinned slowly at Surt, its cheeks slowly tearing apart a la Corbin, granting it the same trade marked ear to ear grin*

Well... that was unexpected....

*Straneg things seemed to be happening to the bizarre being as it watched fate slowly working its way toward steh annhilation of teh DeSeer clan. That.. was unacceptable. Reaching out with two fingers on the astral plane, Rake pulled on one of teh string fo Fate, the circle under its feet locking into place, every single rune and symbol flaring with light as it stretched out and felt everything. Over its head a black halo shattere dinto dust, its wings flared and its arms spread, body lifting from the floor as it appeared crucified before Surt, its chuckle rippling over the land as just short of the other DeSeer's locations, a wave of purple light sprang up and moved in to meet the wolves - a containing shield made from folding two edges of a neighbouring dimension together. Void and Azazel stood vaguley alongside Rake as it laughed manically at Surt*

You.... you CHILD.... Loki was a MINOR compared to my parents... you really want to do this Surt? It's like taking money form old ladies... I PROMISE you... I'll hurt you more than you've ever known for causing me so much annoyance and trouble. Narok... is no longer your concern, nor is anything else for that matter. Strike two over mate. One more... then you're out.

"You of all beings should know, just how little age can factor into things, esspecially power."

As he spoke, Surt pointed off into the distance at Abaddon, as he ripped up the area from the sky.

"Somewhere around the age of ten, correct? Ten or so years after you were sired, I'm will to bet you couldn't even comprehend the power he already has. Though I digress. Time to finish the ceremony."

Surt then began swirling his index claw in mid air, before then arching his arm like a snake, and struck the air.

"Arise, Jormungand and rain your pestalince!"

As Surt called out, the serpent of midgard that had been developing completed its materialization. A serpent that entangled itself around the world, deep in the oceans biting its own tail. With a flash in it's eyes, its jaws let go, and he rose up. The portions of the water that had already been frozen shattered, as the head leered up, able to see clearly over the land where the battle field was from where he awoke.

Water flooded inland, freezing before long however, and great water falls fell down from the beast's risen head, crushing the ground. As it let loose its first breath in so long, a poisonous gas developed, and began to fill the sky with it's clouds.

With the rising off the serpent, a ship, built from the nails of deadmen was set free from some unknown location, and rode into the land on the waves. With the giant Hymir as the commander, the ship of giants began to unload.

It was then also, that a second ship appeared high above Surt in the sky, carrying the inhabitants of hell, and one warrior in particular, that should have been here from the start. Loki.

As the great Serpent Jormungand's tail slithered out onto the land, and coiled loosely around Surt, Fenrir moved to Surt's side, as Loki stood at the front of his ship, watching.

And so shinto and demon meet. Im impressed Surt - you've outdone yourself, and in my own style. I applaud your arrogance and forward planning. But... and this is important... it wont be enough. You're not going to kill the clan, your not going to keep dear little Narok all to yourself... and most of all... you're not going to win.

*It waved a hand. The circles under its feet revolved again*

You spoke about the kid and his powers. They're interesting. Hope you dont mind if I borrow said skills... just for kicks.

*One circle locked in, an inverted cross in the center line. The other circles continued to spin*

And theres Zach. Dont think you ever met him. You'd have liked him. Similar to Corbin in a lot of ways. Think I might borrow a few of HIS skills, you know?

*The second circle locked in, this one showing a raven*

And while we're at it.. Dag and Az too.

*Two more circles, one hosting a phoenix feather, the other a large flame*

Now, who else? Ah yes... my brothers, Roen, Sophus, Legion and the elf.

*More circles locked in, lines now flickering between them all, spiking outwards to form a huge pentagramic rune, Rake's eyes haunted as the accumulated power pushed against the world around it, bending reality*

Tell me, kid, what would you do if I surrendered right now?

((*Meanwhile in hell......*))

Far away…. So far and floating. Or maybe screaming…. Crying? So… hard…. No focus…. But what then was this? Just enough focus to know…. That everything was NOT alright. Was it all going wrong? And just what was this ‘it’ of which I’m thinking? I’m? Me?…. confused… pain…

*Scattered fragments of memory and emotion. Scattered fragments of soul. But NOT dead…. Not gone. One thousand hell butterfly’s, loose and alone, each one a single drop of a single being, spread too far, too thin. But death, and all things associated with it… had not stopped the being before… and it was damned if being shattered into a thousand pieces by its own damn son was going to slow it down for long THIS time. Somewhere, somehow, there was a continued will, a continued consciousness. Perhaps because the 1000th butterfly had made it to the right body, had fled to the shell that had once been human at that instant of impact and bonded itself in abject terror to the god like being it found within….
Yes, confusion had become its existence. But the sense of will and being grew steadily, just by being in contact with the god, this being named Rake. A being made up of memories IT recalled… surely this WAS the host vessel. No longer human, no longer empty… but it was the RIGHT place to be. And through it… it could feel 999 points of existence, scattered throughout the underworld, vague images and sensations coming to it. And now… it had remembered a name.*

Roan. Our name… my name… one being…

*Five of its existences were close together. It could feel that much. And with a little effort, like a puff of gentle warm wind, it could nudge them closer together… share the unity they were part of… and move its sense of self into THEM… into the blackness behind the eyes.
Eyes… for seeing. Slowly, it opened them. SHE opened them. Piercing, human blue eyes, part of a ghost like body. Quickly, she accessed the five parts, tried to make sense of what each one knew. After a few minutes… the eyes turned red, and then her locale sunk in. Before her, the throne of Hades, behind her, the grand hall he held audience in. But now… now there was no fear. Her surname… was DeSeer.*

Ok, just read over some posts, mostly mine to know where I am, and realized..I'm such a show boat. xD

Abaddon/Ragnarok::

Taking in a deep breath, Abaddon let the air bristle through his scaled hand as the last whisps of the purple aura rose from it, and went about surveying the scene from his vantage point, searching with the SS for Ragnarok.

It was however then that the great serpent rose up as bid by Surt, and the last occurances of the Ragnarok took place in his ceremonial summonings. Turning, Abaddon looked on, giving a quiet, slightly impressed whistle, simple at the sheer magnitude of the serpent Jormungand.

Below, hiding in the very matter of the ground, having fused with the molecules of the battle field in order to escape the devistating attack Abaddon had last unleashed, Ragnarok also took notice of the acts transpiring, however it wasn't until the second ship, carrying the dead, and Loki appeared, that somthing stirred.

As Loki moved to stand at the head of his ship, somthing shook Ragnarok at his very core, somthing with a tremendous quaking potential that blurred his vision and caused his non-corporal body to shudder.

Cocking a brow, Abaddon smirked, and turned his head to the ground below, and pointed with his left hand.

"Find peace below the earth, and remain there forever more!"

The shadows scattered around the area he pointed at turned to torrents of oil, and towered up to form hidious, obscure structures, before countless replications of Abaddon's eyes appeared, opening wide across the shadows, and they gleamed with the devistating effects of the various disciplines, and arts that were born from Corbin's eyes.

A blinding flash enveloped the targeted area, with hues of violet and crimson swirling about with obsidian, as the ground, ice, snow dirt stone and soil was torn apart.

Grinning, Abaddon prepared to laugh triumphantly, however haulted, as he felt bloody finger tips press against his neck on the left side. Turning only his eyes, Abaddon could see the crimson glow that came from the glyph made by Ragnarok's fingers.

Hovering behind Abaddon, the youthful looking Ragnarok stared at the back of Abaddon's head, certain features growing in age very slightly.

"You take me far too lightly, creature. Surt grants me a limitless power, where as yours, will eventually run dry."

As Ragnarok spoke, the absolute shield began re-building itself around his arm steadily, cell by cell.

"Your energy may be limitless in supply, but the magnitude is greatly lacking, in comparison to my-...Own?"

It was then, just before he completed his sentance, that something stirred within Abaddon aswell. Much the same as it had stirred within Ragnarok. Abaddon's features grew somewhat more like Corbin's, before Ragnarok spoke again, the luminacy of the glyph intensifying.

"Concider this your stake, monster."

The glyph then exploded with the crimson colour, and as the light faded a moment later, Abaddon's body fell from the sky, his head not far behind.

As the monster Corbin had become hit the ground in two seperate locations, Ragnarok, with a blood soaked left arm turned in the sky to face the ship above and ahead of him, and Loki. Something was happening, his features were rapidly going from youthful to old over and over sporaticly in different places.

"Lo..k....ki..."

__________________________________________

Surt::

Standing tall and broad, as the giant serpent's tail slithered around him, he leaned forward on the hilt of the sword he had taken from Fenrir, blade in the ground, staring at Rake.

"There is no surrender. One of us will die this day. Either I will perish, and you can go about your happy massacres in a gay and merry manner, or I will prevail, and this world will end, and the lives of the dieties along with it. Being that which you are, however, I consider you to be one of the dieties that must be obliterated, legitament or not. If I cant even slay an illegitament diety like you, then there would be no point in running away, my cause would be for not."

Moving his right claw to clutch the hilt of the sword, he spoke once more.

"Now then, lets stop this worthless ranting, and get to the business."

Surt then moved to hold the sword behind him, pointing at the ground, his left leg forward, as he raised his left hand. With his left hand raised, glyphs appeared at the tips of his claws, and with a slight motion with the index talon, the serpent moved it's head back, arching in a strike ready poise.
PostPosted: Thu Oct 19, 2006 10:00 am

Heh. A kid like you has no right to be wuestioning my noble lineage. Thank you for sealing your own death warrant. My only regrets and apologies stretch out to the few beings on this planet... that tell me I am still the god I was when born.

*It settled itself gently upon the floor, its wings draping to earth like the edges of a long cloak. The time had come to end this, to play its final card. Surt, and indeed Abaddon and Ragnarok, were each encased in webs which could not be drawn together, nor entirely seperated. For this reason alone, it would risk everything in its final strike, to clear the battlefield, save the clan, defeat Hades and end this foolish charade. Within its chest, a warm feeling grew steadily, until its brilliant white light shone from its exposed torso, trhe blue orb on its left hand reacting in kind. The metal coating its left side peeled away from Roan's skin, revealing faint exact replicas of Corbin's tattoo's ubnderneath, one of the signs of the inversed blood ties it was now relying on - and for that, there was every chance the whole clan would feel tired and drained after this, the ultimate call upon anothers blood.
The metal itself seeped onto its back, forming two more huge wings between its usual too, giving it now four wings on its back, four on its head and two on its ankles. Around it, the seven seen and unseen swords lifted from their holsters and ringed around its body, hovering in mid air, seven bolts of power arcing from them into Rake's body, exploding out of its back into a final two wings.
The 12 winged deity them ascended into the sky, blinding light washing out from it across the battlefield and several miles all around. Its very form was practically lost in the light from its chest, only the 12 wings and a female shape vaguley outlined, until behind it, a great book seemed to fall open, the pages turning swiftly, revealing text rapidly scrawling itself across the pages, names, places, events all linked to the mixed entity flashing onto the 'paper'*

Behold the Book of Firmament. Order out of Chaos, the book of the creator. Once before we called on the book, stole it from its holy resting place. Our gift and our penance was Legion.

*And now Legion arrayed itself behind the 12 winged god, every single one of teh massive chaotic entity appearing full sized, red eyes blazing, Void and Azazel at their head*

Legion, of Chaos, Hybrid, of Firmament. Our final gift, Freedom to fly.

*It reached out. Every strand of creation seemed open for it to pull , every mind it had ever touched was there, waiting, open to it. The blood it shared with others seemed to boil under its fingertips and it felt rather than saw the discharge of power move out from itself, the light visible across galaxies as chaos and order clashed, the expanding sphere's main target Surt and companions. Rake fought to stay afloat, to keep murderous intent apart from those who must be spared, bathing the innocent in glory... while its wrath fell on those who has sinned against it.
Whatever the outcome, the Daemon knew it would be beyond spent when the power faded away. But tonot have tried... would have broken every promise it had made*

I kept my word... by my honour, I tried...

*Dagoth looked long and hard at the floor, he couldnt move his body. He was stuck there on all fours struggling for breath, blood and sweat poured from his body. His mind raced through what just happened all he could remember was a stabbing sensation and a spike of incredible energy.*

God dam, what the hell just happened?

*Rolling himself onto his back, Dagoth rummaged throughout his pockets he found his smokes letting out a small chuckle*

.....One left....

*Breathing in deep, the smoke wisped up into the air dancing between the stars. His mind pondered why this even mattered he knew he had destroyed almost all of durem, where was the others. He couldnt sense roan anymore and his brothers seemed to be fighting.*

As Rake unloaded a flooding wall of power, both its own, and that drawn from others, the tide of the battle was turned. Surt, even while hiding behind the serpent's tail, began to be pushed back, and his hide began to wear and tear showing signs of decay.

The two ships were sent into reckless paths without control, as the first carrying the giants was torn apart and thrown from the field, the second carrying Loki was sent higher into the blackened sky, the diety falling to a knee and holding for dear life.

Ragnarok was forced back, however as Loki and the ship was pulled away, he was filled with a fierce determination, and tried to fight through the energy and force, soaring higher, as he drew from beneath his armour a dagger.

As shadows writhed about the two rapidly decaying portions of Abaddon's body, the armour rusted, falling to pieces, the clothes falling to ribbons, and the body decomposing, forming a pool of rotten flesh, maggots, millipedes and roaches. The force exherted by Rake however scattered the remains, although shortly after, they began to re-gather, as the grotesque corpse re-formed gradually.

_____________________________________

Surt::

Roaring loudly, Surt fought to stand his ground, as the serpent tightened the coiling around him. With a forward striking motion of his left hand, the glyphs at his fingertips lit up, and the creatures around him reacted.

Jormungand the serpent gave a hiss that rattled the earth, and shook the ocean, both ice and water, producing a great billowing cloud of poisonous gases both known, and some not known by any, mortal or not. As this stream of gases came down with the aim to crush Rake, with both pressure and decay, Fenrir gave a howel, producing an army of wolves from his gaping jaws, coming out as ghostly lights, before turning physical, and racing at Rake.

In the ship high above, Loki ordered the firing of the cannons, and the captain ordered the inhabitants of hell comply, opening the side of the ship up, and firing cannon after cannon, whilst Loki himself prepared to unleash his own assault, however was distracted by the sight of Ragnarok, heading his way.

________________________________________

Abaddon/Ragnarok::

Finally, defying the force around him, Abaddon was re-formed, from blood, rotten clumps of flesh, maggots, bugs and the remains of his clothing, however much had been lost in the winds. With several new injuries, torn clothing and broken armour, he cast his eyes skyward, as the violet shade around his eyes darkened, before errupting with a dark purple flame like aura. Snarling, though with a grin, Abaddon was surrounded by purple flames that errupted from the frozen terrain, and his wings expanded in size.

"Game over little man."

Throwing his left arm behind him, the entirely raven limb stretched, tendrils whipping it from the limb that gleemed like oil. The hand clutched onto the hilt of the sword he had dropped before, Nidhogg's maw. As the oily substance splashed across the sword and the ice it was encased in, Abaddon's right hand was thrown out at his side, and with a glow of the hebrew text scribed inside the intricate ornate designs all over the rest of his body, Ragnarok's sword, the large masamune was revealed from the countless fakes, and drawn to Abaddon's hand.

Retracting his lengthy left arm, Abaddon then switched the blades into the other hands, before he was flung into the sky.

Nearing Loki's ship now, the middle age looking Ragnarok grew wide eyed, and turned to look behind him. Coming up behind him, Abaddon flared his wings, before tucking them behind him, in a swoop like position. Desperate, Ragnarok held up his left hand, and began firing elemental bullets in flurries, however Abaddon cut through them with apparent ease, holding the two blades crossed infront of him.

Once close enough, Abaddon threw the masamune like a spear with great speed at Ragnarok, though aimed at his chest, the shield came up to block. Lowering the shield to continue his attacks, Ragnarok felt a sudden stiff coldness in his back.

Behind Ragnarok, Abaddon held the large blade posessed by Nidhogg with a reverse thrust. Back to back the pair floated in the air, just the tip of the blade piercing Ragnarok's back, however given the sheer size of the sword, that was a severe wound.

Abaddon however, hadn't escaped unharmed either, with a dagger thrust into his back, the blades edge caught between the vertabrae, and the tip cutting into the already badly damaged dead heart.

With a long tentacle like left arm, dripping with sludge, the masamune already reclaimed, Abaddon then swung the long arm around and thrust the sword, skipping it over the top of Ragnarok's shield, to pierce his chest just below the colar bone, slicing just above the heart.

Coughing up a mouthful of blood, Ragnarok's eyes didn't dim, not a shade. Instead they glowed vibrantly, as they trembled, staring at a glittering ring on Abaddon's left hand.

Instead of going on to disect the Celestian, Abaddon aswell had his eyes transfixed, focused on Rake below, as it took on a more Roan like appearance.

The pair had been shaken to the core by something with high regard to the original forms, and it still showed, as Abaddon's features had dulled in dominance over Corbin's, and the same for Ragnarok, over Narok's.

*It fell. As it bore mostly darkness in its heart, its mastery over Firmament was far from complete and the toll massive.
The 12 beautiful wings that had adored it were torn and shredded as it tumbled from the heavens, the light fading around it. Even its natural wings charred and fell apart as teh earth came rushing up to meet it.*

I had hoped... it would kill at least one of you. Must be weaker than I thought...

*Its consciousness was fading, the metal creeping back over its body. And then it hit the ground. The impact was solid and audible. As was the noise of the incoming attacks focused on it. It manged to weakly wave one clearly broken arm, a shield taking up residence around it against the cannon fire, but it could only watch as the woplves came for it. Smiling softly, it turned its gaze upwards to Abaddon and Narok*

Sorry Narok... be strong Corbin.

*And then it lost consciousness, the flesh side of its body mauled and burnt as it shifted to look more like the tiny human woman it had once been*

As charred flakes of flesh crumbled from Surt's body, the light in his eyes grew dull, shade by shade they dimmed, and this always took an effect on the summoned beings, as they gradually grew less and less bound to the physical plane.

"Damn...you.."

Meanwhile, as Surt's assault on Rake closed in on the fallen Rake, something snapped the air, ripping molecules apart with a vicious ferocity. Wolves were torn away from the fallen diety, and shredded, the gases blown away in hurried torrents, and the ice shattered.

Both Ragnarok, and Abaddon all of a sudden stood, backs facing eachother, Rake on the ground between them.

Abaddon looked much younger, and his hair had shortened. While streams of violet hissed from his body all over, the much more Corbin looking Abaddon stood with a bloodied pair of swords in his hands, a trail of blood runing from either corner of his mouth, and a dagger stuck in his back.

Ragnarok had matured in age, having grey hairs, a grey beard, and much older features about him, with a limp metalic arm. Orange, dusty like hues of steam hissed from his body alike Abaddon's, as he held the absolute barrier at his side, the cells glowing brightly. Blood cascaded from the wounds in his back and chest, and he seemed, whilst determined and fierce, struggling to stand.

Standing in such a way, that Surt was at Ragnarok's right side, and Abaddon's left, the pair then turned their heads simultaniously, and stared at him. For a moment, the pair looked almost identical, with a strong family resemblance, both in the elder Ragnarok/Narok, and the younger Abaddon/Corbin.

Surt's left eye widened, as the deeper flesh and muscle of his right turned to dust.

"You...But, this isn't right!"

It was then that the pair, as they returned to the 'evolved stages' rose their respective arms facing Surt. Ragnarok, his metalic right, and Abaddon, his pitch black left, as energy swirled in their palms, Ragnarok's, a celestian baby blue, and Abaddon's, a brooding obsidian. A blinding light then came from both hands with the respective colours, and Surt's crippled, half decayed figure was scattered to the winds in a cloud of dust and ash.

Following the example, the beings Surt had summoned, gradually turned to ash, along with the wolf that had engulfed the moon, and the ship carrying Loki. As the sun was set free, baskig the field in the glow of its setting, ash and dust rained down like snow after the great serpent had been un-summoned.

Abbadon and Ragnarok now stood at the top of the hill, backs still turned on one another, as they stood around Rake. For a short time, niether one said a word, or made a move. Like statues they stood, before light began to envelope Ragnarok.

Turning slowly, Ragnarok faced Abaddon's back, as Surt's influence washed away from him, the visage of the youthful Ragnarok falling away as cinders and ash, to reveal the much older Narok.

Turning his left eye on Narok, Abaddon's eyewidened, and the pupil dialated, as the piercing emerald was restored to both eyes. As Narok stumbled, his left knee buckling, the ornate designs all over Abaddon's body, and the obsidian of his left arm lerched out, thread like tentacles reaching out.

Abaddon choked for a moment, before a gush of blood ran down his chin from his mouth, and a thud echoed from his chest. Suddenly turning, Abaddon fell, arms outstretched, before the tentacles writhing around him turned to a monstrous face with wide open jaws. The haunting black shade gained a series of emerald eyes, before the jaws clamped down around Abaddon's whole body, then soaked back into his body. As Narok fell, it was Corbin, after dropping his swords, that caught him.

Kneeling at Rake's side, Corbin held Narok against his chest, both covered in the blood of their injuries.

Niether one said a word, as they sat there, both completely unsure of what to say. Corbin had set out to defeat Narok, and gain a sense of closure. Narok, had let himself fall victim to Surt's influence, and now couldn't even stand to face his son, after finally getting the chance to do so, as himself.

"...I..."

Biting his lip, Corbin closed his eyes, though before he could continue, Narok spoke, choking some on the blood in his throat.

"Niether of us could let her die...."

Opening his eyes in surprise, Corbin looked down at Narok, speechless as he continued.

"As dead as she is already, and always has been, and the monopolizing she devil she was, in the worst of times, I some how couldn't let her die."

Corbin then cast his eyes on the fallen Rake, after a moment, smiling.

"As great of enemies we were, I am indebted to her. Under her care, you have become strong. She has mothered you, and fathered you, as I failed to. We might have actually, made interesting friends, given the chance."

Turning to look back down at Narok, Corbin smiled.

"Surt's gone now, and your still here, so, you can. You can stay with us."

Surprised at the response he got, Narok gave a chuckle.

"You know it cant be like that."

Using his left hand, Narok pushed against Corbin's chest, moving to a kneel, and hung his head. Corbin closed his eyes, and simply noded. Slowly standing, Corbin picked up his sword, still posessed by Nidhogg, and swiped it through the shattered ice and ash to his right side, as he took a step to Narok's left side.

"Hopfully it wont be too soon, but, I hope to see you when you come my way, Corbin. I'll be looking forward to the stories of your life."

Hanging his head, Corbin close his eyes, and clutched the hilt of his sword tightly.

"I'll see you then, dad."

Smiling, Narok had only a moment to soak his eyes in tears, before the blade came down on the back of his neck, and his illegitimate life was ended. Corbin however didn't drain the essence, he cast it out, far from able to bind the man's essence to his blade.

As the sword returned to normal with a flash of light, and Nidhogg was released, sent back to its rightful place in the root of the Yggdrasil, Ansuz, and the other swords were left to stand in the ice and ash. Looking down at Rake, Corbin gave a smile, before turning to look away from the battle field, hiding the sight of his tears mixing with the blood on his face.

Sometimes... its hard to say nothing. I have one promise to fulfill. But it can wait. You have given me time. Im... sorry you had to protect me. Some god, huh?

*It tried to imitate its usual deep chuckle, but coughed blood instead*

For a moment... I knew what it was to be a creator. But I didnt help anyone... killing and pain are all I know, even after all this time. Forgive me.

*Then it lapsed back into pain wracked silence and unconsciousness*

"Teh.."

With a bare torso, and his lower garments in shambles, Corbin shook his head, as he patted down his pockets, pointless concidering the right one wasn't even there any more.

"Its what we do, god...You really do need more Roan in you, diety or not."

Shaking his head, Corbin sighed and kicked a clump of ice away down the hill, grunting some as he realized he still had a dagger stuck handle deep in his back.

"That'll take a while to heal. I need a cigarette..."

After not recieving a vicious reply, or any for that matter, Corbin realized that the heap behind him was unconcious again. Lost in his thoughts, he mused over the situation.

"Say what you want, thats the second time we saved Gaia."

Wiping his hand across his face, before turning, he took a seat next to Rake.

"Raoul is either going to promote the both of us, or hang us by our balls. Well, me from my balls you, I dont know."

.: Corbin. Connections weak, so try and keep Magra away will you? And the rest of your little buddies... need to talk, gotta make this quick.
Rake's unstable. Last move was foolish. It cant handle the conflict between the two minds that made its one, you understand? It tapped into Firmament itself for a moment thanks to a conflict between my thoughts and Roans. That power shouldnt ever be touched - it cant be controlled by creatures like me, let alone this hybrid. Its inverted the blood line - instead of all of you showing Raon's traits thanks to her blood... its subsisting off of all of yours. We cant stay near teh clan until Roan's soul is restored, until the pieces are found.
Send Dagoth. He knows hell well enough and what to look for. Tell Raoul whatever you must, but your in charge for now. We need to go away and recover our physical strength and theres a sword I want to find.... dont come looking. Alright? Oh and one more thing.... thanks. :.

*Take's voice was clear and whole, but as it continued to talk, it seemed to get weaker as the Rake personna came closer to rousing once more. As it opened one eye, its metal arm pulsed blue and the connections remaining between clan leader and members were fully severed. Fading away like fairy dust, Rake's body vanished, where it was bound, no one knew and in its current state, it would be hard to follow*
