"And it's solid and slippery!" Lin replied back, "I've never seen ice, I was born in the summer, but I can't wait for my first Chirstmas.. .and the new year... I want to see what all those is like."
She mused.
"It's suppose to snow it winter back home."

Elnara laughed and hugged Daeron back. "Of all the people to recognize me," she laughed. "My nephew before my brothers!" She stepped back a bit and took Idhril from Daeron's arms. "How have you been?"
It didn't look as if the slave traders incident ... year long incident ... had had a lasting effect on him.
Idhril giggled. "He's fun, Mama!" she said brightly. "He lets me tell stories, lots of stories!"

Daeron chuckled. "Likewise," he said warmly to Lore. "By the Valar, Nara-thel, it's been way too long! Lin's been here, Serenity's been here, I hear you were in the Borderlands ... Nako said I missed you by only a week, you left so quickly ..."
He looked at Lore again. "I heard a lot about you, I feel as if I know you already," he smiled. "I think Ada actually nearly got angry with Tinuviel, though he ended up blaming me for taking her along. We heard you were back when Donovan, Thalion-tol and Yue came here, so we went to see you ... but you were gone so we visited with Nako for a week."
He paused. "It ... was Tinuviel's first time seeing her."
Earendil slid around a bit, holding Lin's hands and sliding her around with him. "I haven't seen snow either," he chuckled, "but Daeron has. He travels a lot."
He paused. "But ... what's Christmas?"

"I see," Lore murmured, "We had visited there for a while."
He did admit it didn't seem like they were there for very long though.

"Well uhm..." Lin mused trying to explain a concept that she had never seen before, "Mommy says it's a time when family and friends get together and spend time with each other and exchange presents to show how much they care for each other."
At least for her only the exchanging the gifts part is what made it different from New Years, but New Years was about the new year and good luck.

Elnara smiled. "So Triton's still your hero, I see," she commented. "And me? Still your sister, hm?"
Idhril stared. "Mommy, I thought he was my cousin," she complained. "But if he's your brother doesn't that make him my uncle?"

Daeron grinned at Idhril. "Yes, we're cousins," he agreed. "Your mother is indeed my aunt, but my father refuses to allow me to refer to her that way."
He looked back at Lore. "And how did you like it? Ulani and Ulrich said they enjoyed having you, I know they want to have you all visit again."
He grinned at Elnara and poked her shoulder. "Of course he's still my hero, and so are you. You saved me from those men!"
"Ah," Earendil nodded. "That sounds nice ... kind of like a collective birthday, I guess." He smiled. "It sounds like fun."

"Hmm... I never thought of it that way," Lin murmured.
Though she hadn't had her first birthday yet neither, so it wasn't that surprising that she would not think of that.
"But we get to do all sorts of things, at least that's what everyone else days," she looked up at Earendil, "Do you have any of those kind of things?"

"Yes," Lore replied back, "I enjoyed it a lot," he admitted.
At least now his answers were, indirectly answered to why Daeron referred to Triton and Elnara as such. So they might have a problem from Elnara's brother who was Daeron's father. He kept that in mind.

Elnara frowned a bit. It looked as though Ruel was going to be even more of a problem than she had thought.
"Where ... is Ruel?" she asked hesitantly.

Daeron moved to sit back behind his desk. "Working," he replied. "He spends most of his time every day at the forge, at least when I'm around. I'm told he comes out a bit more when I'm gone, but ..."
He shrugged.
Earendil nodded. "In about a month from now, we have the festival of the Enderi, it lasts three days and it's a lot of fun. Mettare, the last day of the year, there'a a huge celebration as well - and Yestare, the first day of the year, is an even bigger celebration because it's the day of Nako's coronation."

"What's that like?" Lin asked hopping up and down, as much as she could without slipping.
Somehow she managed to just slide across the floor even though she wasn't trying to walk.

Elnara blinked. "You? Why you? He was thrilled when you got back, I mean, he almost made me feel like I was accepted again when I got back! Are you saying that he's avoiding you?"
That didn't make any sense at all ...

Daeron shrugged and tapped his fingers on the arms of his chair. "Well, when he found out what you are, he ... flipped. No one can mention your name in his presence, Earendil, Tinuviel and I aren't allowed to call you aunt ... To them it's not such a big deal, they don't know you at all - but I wouldn't stand for it. Even when I was a kid, I couldn't obey him. It ... all just sort of fell apart after that."
He smiled, his face transforming completely to look peaceful once more. "Again, I'm glad you're back, Nara-thel. And you, Lore - Uncle Lore?" He tilted his head curiously. "Hmm. Curious."
Earendil held Lin's hands so that she wouldn't fall and break anything. "It's kind of hard to explain," he replied with a grin. "You'll have to come here sometime while it's all going on, it's really a lot of fun."

"I really would want to, but I don't think Elnara is going to stay that long," Lin pouted, "And I don't know when I would have to get back for it."
Indeed, she would be completley clueless on that sense, but she really wanted to be there.
