out middle school band director was a perfectionist freak. he'd make us play all of that over...and over...and over....and over...and yeah, it's nice to listen to, but he's completely ruined all those songs. all i have hear is the off-beat quarternotes....*rocking in corner, fetal position*

ummm... in primary school we used to always have to play bunyip blues *shudders* basically every primary school played it. Recently we did a workshop with a primary school (not mine sad ) and one of the songs we had to help them with was.... bunyip blues.............. I HATE IT!!!!!!!!!!!

DiscordantNote
Definitely Pomp and Circumstance. That song is pure EVIL!

Another one that should be thrown onto the fire is one my band's playing simply called 'Dance Movements'. I hate it because it makes me go into tenor clef. I can read it, but I sure as heck can't play it. Besides, even if I could play it that register sounds awful on bassoon.

Bahah! tenor clef should be shot! Chester should be burned...

Tohru Honda-san
Pomp and Circumstance but I will NEVER have to EVER play it AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cause I'm a Senior, but that is sad too even though I hate that song SOOOOOOOOOOOO much.

And you are forced to play it so much!!!!! I hate it!

The Tempest- It's (well, used to be) a cool song to listen to, but repetitive beyond any form of comfort. 18 measures (4/4 time) of quarter-eighth-eighth-quarter-eighth-eighth on a concert G, so A on clarinet, which is a painful note for a middle school band.

Amparito Roca- the only non-offbeat part was the quintuplet run at the beginning.

Though I agree with DiscordantNote and x Ninamori x in regards to playing tenor clef, I can't entirely hate it. The other bassoonist, who's rather cute 3nodding , always asks me for help with it.

In marching band, Stars and Stripes Forever must DIE! During my Freshman and Sophomore year, since they were the first two years after 9/11, instead of spelling out RAMS during the opener, we spelled USA and played Stars and Stripes Forever-impossible to memorize and just plain annoying.

I also didn't like The Genius of Ray Charles 'cause it was too stupidly easy! It was jazzy, though, so a lot of other band members had trouble getting the rhythm. Very annoying.

Variations of America must die. I just think it's really stupid. Charles Ives ruined a good and pretty song.

Let me guess, you're a horn player? I'm a horn player. Sousa hated the horns.

As I look back on my past threee years of playing in the high school band, I do recall hating "Nilesdance" and "Ravensdance." They should be burned. I think that the titles throw me off. Also, the time signature changes every other measure. twisted

Also, I wish that "Just a Closer Walk with Thee" would burn. I have been playing that song so many times in the past four years that it makes me sick. First in my fabulous brass quintet, then in New Orleans, then in regular band, and then at my brass camp. I am constantly trying to run away from it, but it keeps on coming back, like a nightmare that just won't go away...HELP!

"A Walk with McCarly".

There is NOTHING but whole notes, and one measure of 9ths.

I'd like to burn all of the copies of the Star-Spangled Banner, and our Fight Song & Alma Mater, just to see how many people actually learn them... xp

Those little crappy, un-complex Christmas medleys they made us play back in 5th grade at the Winter concert...I know we were in fifth grade, but they're just so dull and I bet the audience was trying to convince themselves that we were actually cute young children discovering the wonders of music instead of, "OMG, this song is horrible...".
