Chase jumped back from the neko, his eyes narrowing and his head shaking wildly. there was no way Ari had just compared the plains --freedom-- to those horrible things! No way! He stared at him carefully.
"No. Like big grass. Trees. Animals to catch and eat. Ranger people. Good ranger people. . . only good people. . . "
His voice when from exciting and comparative to dully and angry. Those stupid humans. They were all worthless and evil. The only three that had been good to him were those ranger people who had taught him things. His eyes drooped and he glared at the floor for a while before looking up at Ari, not looking him in the eyes, and grabbing two cloth strips.
He gashed a small hole in one with his fangs before trying to tie a knot. The three first ones failed mierably but the third was just a mish-mash of twists and turns that he a angrily thrown together that seemed to stay. He nodded, his jaw tightened and his finger closed roughly on the cloth before he took up another.

(( that's okay. I seem to have that effect on most people. But what the heck is Nikon doing? Listneing to this talk and going 'wow. okay.' ? >_< ))

Aneres looked up. "I ate when you were gone..." though it tasted a bit strange. She thought to herself. "Did you guys know that there's gonna be a total eclipse in about a week? A hanging is going to happen during that duration of time." The vampire didn't sound one bit enthusiastic about it but she wanted them to just incase they went 'cause she would stay home.

((Nikon's a noodle... Actually, I didn't feel like playing as him, so I kept it simple. He's scared of them! That's it! Bwah... And it's not you're fault my posts are teeny-tiny. I just can't think of anything good at the moment. ^^))

Ari watched Chase with an amused look and finished ripping up the sheets. Once that was done, he went over to the other and tugged on his arm carefully, wanting him to calm down just a bit. He picked up two cloth strips and looked them over. Ari was actually quite quick for something that most people would consider an 'animal'. He was nothing more than a pet in most peoples' eyes. Sighing, the neko began trying to figure out ways to tie knots in the sheets without having any real idea what was going on. "Tie... Knot... Tie... Hmm..." he mumbled to himself over and over again.

Nikon, still outside the door grumbled. He opened the door and looked inside, trying to build up courage to go up against the two crazy kids. His jaw seemed to drop when he saw that the bed sheets were torn up and being changed into rope. They were still planning on escaping! Nikon stepped inside the room and shut the door, making sure it was actually shut. He looked at the two of them and sighed. "What are you guys doing?" he asked and stepped forward once. "Is living here really all that bad? I'm sorry we had that little scuffle earlier," he said and looked at the two boys.

((There, Heather wrote something for Nikon!!))

"Thank you, Master Mordred," Sirica bowed slightly, inclining her slight frame, and there was a subsequent tear as her wings strained against the old shirt. She straightened quickly with a slight blush. Upon hearing Aneres' statement about the hanging and eclipse she tipped her head and asked, "What is an eclipse? What is a 'hanging'? I've heard the words I think, but not their meanings."

Chase ripped a hole in the other piece of cloth, before letting it flutter to the ground and rubbing his cheek roughly with the back of his hand. He looked over at Ari before grabbing up the cloth again and starting to fit the two together. Then he heard the door open and he froze. He knew he was doing something he shouldn't, and he wasn't in the least bit remorseful even though Nikon sounded somewhere between awed and angry. He didn't bother looking back at him, giving a small 'roew' at Ari to say he wasn't going to pay attention to the idiotic human behind him. He concentrated on tying the knot and didn't respond to Nikon. He wouldn't. Even when he apologized. Yes, it is. I think. And I want to get out in the sun damn it! No more couped up in small, dull, dark places!

Nikon stepped toward the two boys. They seemed like they wanted so badly to get out of the house. He was sure Ari would not know what to do once free. From what he read on the history of the neko, he always managed to escape but was found in alleys. Then he had read up on Chase. Well, the boy came from the wild, and he knew what was out there. He knew what it was like on the outside. Maybe he was telling Ari about the outside, and the neko wanted to see it. Although, the neko could want to get out by himself. All the different thoughts began to confuse the human as he walked over to the two and knelt behind them. Once Ari glanced over his shoulder at the human before running his tail across his face and turning back to the sheets.

Sitting on the ground, Ari turned to Nikon and sighed. He did not want to leave the only home that seemed better than the others. Shaking his head, the neko glared at his human owner. It was the same in every home. All he ever wanted to do was get out and live life in the open. Unlike other captive beings, he wanted to know the outside world. Most of the people he met in the cages, that were born there, never really wanted anything to do out in the 'wild'. They always said food would be hard to get and finding shelter would be difficult as well. Who cared!? Ari liked excitement, he enjoyed the thoughts of having to find his own food or places to sleep. But... It was always so much easier to think that way than to actually do it. Sighing heavily, the neko tapped Chase on the shoulder and held up a knot to see if it was correct.

Chase narrowed his eyes, watching the man walk over to them. He hissed and scooted away from him into the corner, taking a handful of cloth strips with him. He glared at Nikon, looking carefully at Ari. Would he talk to Nikon? He would trust him as much if he did. . . Yes, he was doing something. Asking about the knot. Chase turned and banged his head into the wall in frustration. The neko was so trusting! He asked the man to help them escape! And the man would do one of three things:
1) just stare.
2) help them
and the one that seemed most obvious to Chase,
3) snatch away their escape and storm out of the room.

The cheetah boy let his head bounce once against the wall, feeling the throbbing in his head now that he had stopped banging it on the wall. He rested his forehead on the smooth surface, feeling a crack or two there but looking down at his hand which were fiddling with the cloths, trying desperately to tie them together.
"Trusting the enemy. . . " He muttered angrily for Ari to hear, glancing back with a glare.

((He was asking Chase about the knot...))

Ari looked at the other with a worried expression. What was he doing banging his head on the wall? The neko tugged on his arm to get him to stop when he heard that he trusted the enemy. Trusted? Well, he was rather trusting of people, but he could not help it! Sighing, the neko looked back at the sheets and casted an angry look at Nikon. The human was confused by what was happening. He looked at both boys and back to the sheets. They were trying to escape, but he did not understand why Chase was hitting his head on the wall. Crazy... They were crazy. Is that why they were almost never picked out? Ari looked at Chase and purred, ignoring Nikon completely. "Knot... Knot," he mumbled to the other and shook the sheets.

"Lest see a eclipse is when the sun and the moon pass in front of each other and cause the area where the shadow land to go dark for a little bit. Then a hanging is when they take somebody, tie a rope around there neck and then tie the other end to a tree, or something of that sort, and then watch them die from lack of air," Mordred explained to her after she asked her question.

Sirica tipped her head. "I. . .will pass. I do not want to see someone with a rope around their neck, hanging in a tree." She paused considering, I would like to see an eclipse. And the rooms, now, please." She grinned up at Mordred, childish excitement showing on her rather mobile face. Based on insticnt she wanted to run off and scpoe out the entire upper floor of rooms, but conditioning made her ask first. She held quite still for a moment, then, instinct over powered her, and she charged over to the steps and pelted up them, beaming like a child on Christmas, even though she had never heard of the holiday herself. She poked her nose into one room after another, one dark one, a light one, a really dark one, a green one. This was all she had time to observe as she opened and slammed each door. Until she found the room.
The walls were a pale blue with a light opalescent shimmer, and the carpet matched, though it lacked the glow of the walls. There was a window with a cushioned ledge on the wall opposite the door. To the right a bed was set into the wall, a little twin sized bed inside an alcove, about five feet off the floor, with hand holds to climb up. To the left there was a desk, wardrobe, bookshelf, and a couch. The carpet felt soft and her feet sank into it slightly as she stepped into the room, breathless and amazed.

((woot! I got a room now!))

Mordred walked into the room she had chosen.
"Hahahaha..You just couldn't wait any longer," Mordred said as he looked around the room.
"Its a fine choice I think it suits you very well and if you ever need me during the night my room is through those big double doors over there," Mordred said as he pointed down the hall.

Sirica wandered over to the door and stood next to her Master, she peered out into the hall and nodded, acknowledging where his room was. She looked up at Mordred, for he was a good deal taller than she, and asked, "Do we get clothes now? This is," she pulled at the old shirt and baggy pants "... not very comfortable."
((sorry bout the wait, I got a bloody nose))

Aneres was glad that Sirica didn't want to go, it wasn't something any one should see and the only reason she knew that was because they would hang slaves that were old and unable to do work in the basment of the agancy. They made all the slaves watch. She sat silently at the table when both demons had left. The vampire leaned forward and laid her arms on the table and rested her cheek on her arms. "I'm bored..." She mumbled to herself.

Mordred put his arm around her shoulder and looked down at her.
"Well lets go back downstairs and go get Aneres and we will go pick you out some clothes from one of the stories near by," Mordred said as they headed down stairs.

Sirica closed her eyes and smiled, her crest perking up a little. She had never felt so safe with anyone before, though her head told her to be cautious. Master Mordred was nice. That was her only perception. All this and several other thoughts floated through the young demon's mind as she walked back down stairs, Mordred's arm still draped over her. As Aneres came back into view she called out, "We're going to buy clothes! Are you coming?" with a bright grin on her face.
