((I hereby apologize for the length of all my posts, especially this one. I just start writing and poof, big posts. You'll see, though, that there's a method to my madness.))

Cassandra took one last look at the sun-streaked sky before turning back to her apartment. Her heels clacked noisoly against the marble-tiled floor as she crossed over to the elevator. After pressing the button, she straightened her body and raised her chin, keeping both eyes on the rising needle that indicated the floor number. The doors opened wide, accepting their meal and promptly closing its vertical jaws. She took a silver key from her neck and inserted it below the control panel. The panel soon popped open, revealing an unmarked button that she immediately pressed.

The steel cage began to descend through the shaft as Cassandra re-locked the panel. Her eyes watched the numbers fall, each glowing on and off in turn. Soon, the ground level had been passed, but she kept lowering. After a few seconds, the elevator came to a halt, and the doors stretched open again. The room was huge, grey, and dreary. Everything from top to bottom had an aged, metallic look to it. Very few furnishings existed; mostly there were wall-mounted boards and rickety desks littered with papers. She walked about thirty meters forward and rapped lightly against a heavy iron door. It swung inward, and a middle-aged man dressed in a bloodied white coat walked past her. "All yours, ma'am," he grunted.

She stepped lightly inside the room. It was full of sinister-looking torture devices, roughly half of them with blood-stained blades, points, or other parts. Her eyes spotted an inclined metal table in the center of the room, which held a shell of a man. He must've been young, but by his appearance it looks like a few decades had been stripped from him. His hair was dull and wiry, woven together with blood until matted. His skin was pocked with puncture wounds and grazed with slashes; parts of it were bruised and burnt. His ribs showed through his skin, and his other body parts were similarly diminished from hunger and lack of exercise. His face was permanently disfigured from abuse and covered in wrinkles. His very eyes looked like they had been hollowed out and filled back up with suffering and fear.

"I see Dr. Faustus has been wringing you dry again. I keep telling him it's unnecessary," she pouted. She crossed over to a cabinet filled with medical supplies. Taking a tray, she loaded it up with gauze, disinfectant, and syringes. "After all, my sweet, you're a perfectly reasonable man. You'll tell us what we need to know when you're good and ready." Her hand hovered hesitantly over a container marked Potassium cyanide, but she thought better of it and instead grabbed the usual painkillers. She walked over to the table and set the tray down, instead grabbing a wet cloth from a miniature sink below the table. She wiped the body down, washing out the red-tinted water that accumulated wiithin it from time to time. "Feels good, doesn't it? Nice and cold..."

Over the next half-hour, she silently proceeded with her usual routine. She cleansed the beaten man's wounds, disinfecting and wrapping them with care. The painkillers came next, and once his body was relaxed enough, she undid the tight bonds holding his hands and feet to the table. That let her get at the remainder of the wounds. Once this was complete, she stopped and looked right into his eyes.

"You can end this all, you know. All the pain, all the hunger... you'll be let go and returned to the arms of the one you love. All you have to do is tell us what we need to know..." She brought his face up to hers, their lips an inch away. She coordinated her breathing with the slow, burdened gasps of the man. His eyes overflowed with both sorrow and affection.

"I...iiiiin... Ssssacr.. mento..."

She kissed him lightly on the lips and set him back down on the table. "Now was that so hard, my sweet?" She began to walk away, toward a door on the opposite side of the room. The love in his eyes gave way to despair. "I'm afraid I can't let you go until you tell us everything. I'll try to speak with the higher-ups about lowering the severity, though." Reaching the door, she turned to speak over her shoulder. "I'll go get your meal. You truly must keep your strength up." With one well-crafted smile, she left the man alone in the room of painful secrets.

Lucifer Moloch
Conall snarled at the woman's words.
-"I wasn't in the mood."
When the woman grabbed his hand, he immediately spun her to she faced the direction he faced with both arms wrapped around her waist. Conall manipulated the wind underneath them both, and in a moment, they were hurtling at incredible speeds through the air. Conall manipulated the air more to give them both a bubble of air around them so wind would not be relentlessly hitting them.

The woman let out a soft giggle at his infuriation with her.
"Oooh, we seem to have a bit of an anger problem dont we?"
She softly laughed again, but when he picked her up and wrapped his arms around her waist, she opened her eyes wide in exclamation.
"Excuse me?! Though I am not human, I am still a female and wish to be treated as such!"
She attempted to turn and smack you, but stopped her struggle as you began to rise into the air and rocket towards land. She let out a small huff of impatience, but kept her silent brooding to herself and she passed the time by watching the ocean below seem to soar by below them.

Conall ignored the woman's cries and still hurtled through the air. They sped through the air, passing birds and occasionally planes. They passed over land a few times, but Conall didn't land. They began to slow down, and land began passing under them. Eventually, there was nothing but land under them. They still flew. Then, the outskirts of a city appeared. Buildings passed underneath Conall and the woman as they slowed even further. Finally, Conall landed in East End London.
-"Welcome to East End London, where I was assigned before this big movement of evil."
The werewolf appeared while Conall was speaking, furious.
-"You were supposed to take her to Sacramento. That's where you need to go, too."
Conall turned to the werewolf, an unusual look of cruelty and bloodlust in his eye.
-"I got her out of the hellhole, didn't I? She can get there herself if she is so displeased with me..."
Conall turned and began walking down the street, still angry.
-"Now if you'll excuse me, I need to wreak some havoc..."
-"Oi! War!"

Kay-Dash walked towards where the helicopter had landed an saw two people step out of it. He started to follow them from far behind just to see where they would go.

She smiled at Alan and started walking towards the building."I hope they have some food left...hope nobodies raided there yet"

The steel door swung open. Cassandra entered with a tray of food, which contained small unidentifiable portions of starch and pre-cut meat. Her hand was steadying a precariously-balanced glass of water as she crossed back to the table. The man looked up at the meal with a noticeable hint of disgust. Upon seeing this, Cassandra frowned.

"Oh, now, that won't do! After all the trouble I went through to prepare your meal, you don't like it! Well, I suppose if my food isn't good enough for you, I'll just have to take it back..."

A low, repentant whine issued forth from the pitiful man. "Oh? You do want it after all?" she exclaimed, her face lightening once more. She set the tray down on the man's beaten chest and slowly feeding the man piece by piece, occasionally stopping to give him a sip when he motioned toward the glass. The thankful expression on his face lingered long after the meal had been finished. Cassandra placed the glass and tray aside, exchanging them for the remaining medical supplies. She began to fill the syringe with the knock-out drugs as she hummed softly.

"Now, then. We're almost through for today." His face fell instantly as body slumped back onto the table. "Oh, don't worry, Mr. White, I'll come back very soon." Upon saying this, she leaned down and gave him a peck on the forehead. "I have to go away for a little while, but I'll be back very soon, I promise. Don't you worry your pretty little head, though: I'm only ever right next to you." She gave her most sympathetic smile as she injected the serum into his veins. His eyes widened before slowly sinking closed; they allowed one tiny tear to course down his cracked skin, stinging where they met the sore wounds. She drew her face close to his, if only to watch his eyes drift shut. "Sweetest dreams, my love."

Once Mr. White was out cold, Cassandra made her way back out the front door. She wiped her mouth with her silken gloves before tugging them off and deposited them in a metal chute. As she ascended to the lobby, the gloves tumbled down toward the furnace.

Once in the lobby, a small crowd of five attendants gathered around her. She lifted her chin and immediately began to rattle off instructions to the air in front of her eyes; her attendants were expected to know to whom she was speaking. "At the soonest possible moment, I should like to travel to Sacramento, California, in the United States of America. Have as much intelligence sent to me before I depart, and prepare my papers along with a large supply of defensive equipment. Given the world's current state, I should expect a good deal of resistance. I wish to have no fewer than four armed bodyguards nearby at all times." This, of course, meant six or more. "Send down the files on the White family, along with any other files on record concerning the Saviors. If my suspicions are correct, a great number of them will have gravitated there. Have someone remain in Fes to intercept Butterfly and proceed as planned. However, if Nightwing accepts my invitation, notify me immediately, no matter what. Have Mr. White transferred to the holding cells and keep him sedated until I get back. I'll also need all my appointments rescheduled; I'll sort through them once I get back. Tell the Children's Foundation that I'm still interested in the charity ball, though."

The assistants scattered, one by one, to attend to her whims. Cassandra, having paced the entire length of the lobby, turned around and went to the elevator. As her mind raced with wicked ideas, she returned to her chambers to prepare for her greatest charade yet.

In the farthest regions of England, Siegfried was standing in the battlefield, his hand covering the head of his latest victim. "Please, I beg you, have mercy! I will serve you until death takes me! Please, just don't kill me!" he said to Siegfried. He only laughed in response. "No, I shall do far worse." He said, crushing the man's head.

While the blood was flowing through his fingers, the body began spewing some blue mist. The soul of the man. The sword Siegfried carried began absorbing the mist, and in response, shot lightning in happiness. The sword fed on the souls of thosse who it had killed. The best souls were the ones who put up a long fight.

He looked around, and saw that there were no more survivors. A lizardman, his own personal servants, came to him, and asked him for their orders. Siegfried just waveed them off, saying. "We have nothing else to do now." He said, turning and walking to the hotel nearby.

Richard ran through the streets of Sacramento, away from a couple of beasts. They nipped at his heels, and taunted him with howls that sent shivers down his spine. When Richard finally ran into a dead end, he looked at the beasts with dread.
-"Oh man..."
The first beast leapt at Richard and he responded with a roundhouse kick to the beast's head, a wave of light following his foot. The wolf-demon-beast fell to the ground, dead. The other beast looked at the boy, then at it's dead comrade, and ran. Richard watched as the beast fled and sighed in relief. After all, all he ever wanted to do was read in peace.

Elin was walking alon a dirt road, trying to choose where to go, where would be fun. That last town was too easy, she'd put on a little bit too much display though, it had worn her out a bit. She kicked up the dirt with her shoes as she walked thinking about how much this stuff hurt... if it had the right speed behind it. She was so lost in her thoughts that she hardly noticed a small and disformed figure. He hobbled up to her and looked towards the ground. When she noticed him she stopped. He bowed.
"What are you doing?" She spat at him.
"...forgive me...miss...But... i was sent to tell you that... they are... their gathering... in Sacramento, California. It's been seen."
"Ah... The clash of white and black. the balance will be tipped... I do so dislike scales." She bent down so she was eye level with the creature, "Now... Run home."
Elin stood up and kept walking. She smiled to herself "Sacramento... Introducing, me!" She giggled and lifted her arms up, making the air hold her up and carry her.

Walking into the hotel, Alan was impressed at how good it was in shape. He looked to the desk, and saw that there were a few rooms left available. Even the luxury suite. He took the key for the suite, and smiled. "Guess where we're staying." He said to her.

"Where? The worst room they have?"she said sarcastically."We deserve only the best."she said as she laughed."I'm gonna go check out the kitchen."she said as she handed Kogeki to Alan. She walked beyond the desk and opened a door and dissapeared from Alan's sight.

Alan looked at her leave, and then back at Kogeki. "Well, I guess just you and me get to share the luxury suite." He said, jingling the keys. Kogeki tried to paw them a bit, and Alan had to laugh.

Hitake heard scratches coming from one of the cupboards as she stepped into the kitchen."Hello? Is someone here?"she heard the scratches come but more violently this time. She then heard a low groaning voice saying something she couldnt understand. She stayed away from that cupboard and opened up another cupboard that they had there. She saw lots of different kinds of food there but she didnt know what to make. She picked up a box of some knd of pasta."I guess this will do..."she said as she took it out of the second pantry. When she walked over to the stove she accidently dropped the box and it spilt all over the floor making a small amount of noise. The scratching came even more violently than the second time then and the groaning voice got louder.Hitake ran out of the room and she couldnt hear the scratching or groaning any longer.
PostPosted: Fri Oct 26, 2007 1:06 pm

Alan saw Hitake come out of the kitchen, and looked confused. "I thought you were going to get something to eat." He said to her, Kogeki jumping out to run to Hitake.
