Eventually, Elruda did manage to succeed once though her concentration constantly wavered. Well, she certainly did better in the previous night's meditation lesson that today. Yesterday, she did have to climb out of a pit...but then, today, she had much more brutal lessons...

Thankfully, she was able to maintain her concentration...perhaps even reinforced it a bit. Elruda was slightly calmer now and found herself more willing to listen to her surroundings. Meditation really did help calm her down, especially after tiring lessons.

Her concentration slipped a bit, but that was alright. By now, Elruda felt more eager to listen to the surrounding world, as she had done so last night. Reminding herself not to fall asleep again, the Hyuuga returned to gather her concentration.

But indeed today, after so many lessons, it was much harder for her to concentrate. Elruda felt her respect for the Hyuuga elders rise, as they could keep up with meditation for the whole day, not to mention any time. Well...but those old geezers never did anything else... She thought, slightly amused.

Fortunately for her, Elruda was able to gather her concentration and regained the calm peace meditation always gave. Her body still hurt from the previous lessons but she was able to concentrate more on nature and less on the pain.

Elruda thought it was quite normal, as leaving behind her physical boundaries were much more challenging today. But nevertheless, she continued with her attempts. After all, she enjoyed meditation, which was one of the few lessons she did, along with kunai practice and the taijutsu lesson.

It took a while, but Elruda finally managed to 'hear' nature as she had the night before. A passing breeze helped elevate the feeling of peace and Elruda was able to concentrate not on her damp clothes but on little ants marching along the training fields, a small swallow singing, and perhaps an alligator resting lazily in its lair....

Still having her eyes kept closed, Elruda could almost feel the gentle embrace of the sun, welcome not only because her hair and clothes were quickly near-dried but also because of the warmth after the swim in the cold, muddy water.

Elruda's concentration slipped a bit upon thinking about her physical state but she quickly caught herself and worked on rebuilding the loss. She did her best to resist the urge to move around, as it had came to her regularly during the meditation lessons the elders gave during her younger days.

After a while, Elruda opened her eyes and tilted her head to the side, giving a curious glance at her teacher. She was pretty certain that she had finished his quota for today's meditation lesson.

Elruda gave a slight nod before jumping up and placed her sandals on. She quickly stuffed her vest and blanket into her bag before heading towards the training dummies. As she neared the dummies, a small smile graced her lips. This should be a piece of cake.

The Hyuuga dropped into the traditional Juuken stance before attempting to strike the dummy. She was dangerously close to missing but had managed to graze the dummy across the side. Strangely, she was doing quite well or at least better than last night. Heh. Well...benefits of the strength building training...I suppose... The raven-haired girl thought with a hint of amusement.

She hadn't managed to make an effective hit but her chakra-laced palm still connected with the wooden dummy. At the very least, this attempt went better than the last. With that thought in mind, Elruda leaned back to avoid a rebounding attack by the dummy. She had used too much force to hit it.

She had missed this time but Elruda didn't mind. Actually, she was too busy avoiding rebounding attacks by the dummy to contemplate on her miss. Elruda somersaulted out of the way before digging her left foot into the ground and directing a well-rounded kick with her right.
