(Angel if you end up reading this, Imma pretend that Layna left Razu in the park taking her kids with.)

Rasheed stared down at the ground, slowly moving back and forth on the swing he sat on when Gabe finally left with Layna and his little sister. HIs mind was for once, still. He couldn't think of anything, he wasn't even sure he wanted to even feel anything. His heart ached, it ached so bad that he wondered how long it could be before he died from it.

Not only that but the last two years of Razu's life was a complete blank. All he could remember was Jaden, handing him the reigns to the pack in the hospital, of Jaden leaving him and the pack for good. Rasheed grimaced at the thought but in the end he had to accept it. He was Alpha now. He had to take care of what was left of the pack now, but what happened the last two years? Why couldn't he remember? Only reason Razu even knew that bit of information was because of Gabe's age.

Razu looked up as the faint smell of blood on the wind floated over to him. It was human blood-two of them- but judging from the smell, they were dead so Rasheed was of no help to them. Followed the scent on the wind, he wondered if he could find out the reason they died, and followed their blood to a another scent moving towards him. Rasheed knew that scent underneath the blood.

The alpha stood up waiting for the vampire to meet him. Rasheed hadn't seen or heard about Veroen for a very long time, even passed his missing two years. There was something off about the scent though. Veroen wasn't the saem as before, he was different. Not the same. In the darkness as the imposing figure approached Razu could make out glowing eyes, one a deep crimson color the other one, a white iris, presumably surrounded by blackness.

His bangs were still tied back low at the base of his neck. His clothes were black, weird because Rasheed always wore lighter clothes. His boots heavy from the steel at his toes. He'd found a gun, a .45 revolver tucked into a huslter at the small of his back, a sheathed blade tucked into the inside of his left boot. Whatever he'd been doing in the last two years was a complete one eighty to his current mind set. Rasheed hated guns with a passion and never liked to use them or even touch them. He once again wonder at who'd he'd been, what he'd been doing the last two years before turning his attention back to the approaching vampire.

Rasheed, the Alpha of the New York Wolf Pack, spoke softly his whirlwind of pain and other emotions upon seeing Layna again hidden. Instead his voice held the confidence and the power that came from his posistion along with the acknowledgement that this vampire had been his friend before and he was willing to stay friends as long as the other party agreed to it.

"Veroen."

"Veroen."

Having someone else say his name felt odd. He hadnt even said his own name in... how long was it? He didnt remember, or care. Names were useless. only used for identification, and the need for that was non existant once you became immortal with a hieghtened sense of smell. Scents were a more efficient way to identify someone.

He stopped, standing up straight, head slightly tilted down, and both mismatched eyes on Razu. He knew this dog. Or Lycan, as they preferred to be called. Anything was better than 'dog' he supposed. The tone of voice he heard commanded authority, authority that only an Alpha could expect. Veroen slightly grinned with his barely elongated fangs, amused by Razu's tone.

"Razu." he replied with a tone that an individual would reply with when addressed directly, and tainted by a deep, yet smooth voice.

He stood there for a moment, examining Razu with his eyes.

"Where's that reckless, brawny Alpha of yours..." He paused, grin still on his face, "..Jaden, I believe?" Veroen remembered having unfinished business with that one.

He tilted his head. "Or is it, that you are now the Alpha in his stead?"

Rasheed lips curved upwards as the vampire described Jaden as brawny. The previous Alpha's attitude certainly did leave the impression of being brawny and his strength increased that image. Only Jaden had been quite skinny though it was very easily forgotten when you got to know him.

Even he'd forgotten that Jaden had actually been a very skinny person, almost feminine in appearence. The new Alpha wondered how'd he managed when Jaden was a kid, fending off the assuredly perverted people back in those very early centuries.

'Or is it, that you are now the Alpha in his stead?'

This question brought the smirk of Razu's face cleanly off and his mind back to reality.

"You've been gone awhile Veroen."

Sighing, Rasheed placed a hand on his hip, the other mussing up his bangs, accidently pulling them out of the hair tie pulling them back. He held a strand in between his slender fingers, trying to figure out why he'd decided to leave it this long instead of his other style. He couldn't figure out how he'd been before awaking here in this park, with Layna, Gabe and the little girl.

"I'm Alpha now. I'm the new Alpha."

Rasu dropped the piece of hair and focused on Veroen. "I'm sorry if that disappoints you."

The lycan huntress was doing her typical sweep of Central Park. She did so in solitude despite the fact it was against what she had advised all her other hunters to do. They were told to travel in pairs seeing as violent activity within the city had certainly picked up. The last thing she wanted was a hunter getting caught off guard alone without anyone to help them. Lycans and vampires alike seemed to travel strictly in packs nowadays unless they possessed enough power to be confident of doing otherwise.

In Eden's case she wasn't being cocky. She simply had grown accustomed to doing what she did in solitude. Forming close friendships and relationships had only served to cripple her in the past. Growing close to someone only to lose them was something that weighed heavily upon her soul. It showed in her somber expression, in her almost weightless gait as she passed through the park as if a lone wolf on the hunt.

Long ago she had fully devoted her time and being into heading the arguably most unfortunate and cursed faction of New York: The New York Hunters. Long gone were her allies and family from when she had originally been instated into the hunters. Too long had it been since she'd last seen their smiles and heard their voices. Along with her family her humanity had also seemed to fade. Now a hardened, hollow shell of stoicism, the hunter leader tread the park practically on autopilot. Instincts leading her way as opposed to consciousness.

Ceon lit a cigarette as his boots let a loud "clack" resonate through the park on the sidewalk. His long silver goatee brushed from side to side as a slight breeze blew by him. This place was a second home to him; it had been his place of triumph, as well as his place of death. Ceon plucked the cigarette from his mouth, let some smoke seep out of the cracks in his smile and howled into the night. He had lost almost all fear of death, and awaited for the day another foe presented a challenge to him. Ceon placed the cigarette back in his mouth and slowly took a drag as he unzipped his fly and marked his territory on a tree. As bleak of a city New York had become, it felt like a good night to be a lycan.

The moment a howl traveled to her by way of the breeze through the barren park, the hunter leader was on the prowl. Unlike most who would likely have an instinct to flee, she purposely made her way toward the source of the noise. Naturally her instincts were on high alert, she was fully aware that heading toward the noise would likely lead to a hostile lycan but she wasn't overly concerned. She had the tools and the strength required to deal with such a threat and silence it in a quick, efficient manner. Fear was something that no longer ruled her, she embraced it and held it close. One of the few things in her life that never left her completely.

Her movements were efficient, deliberately placed so as to maximize her advance toward the noise but also quiet so as not to alert the other lycan of her presence looming toward him. The only thought on her mind was maintaining the peace for the innocent, assuring a mad lycan did not deliver harm to them. It was her only priority, the only reason she pleged herself to such a task: so no one had to go through the horros that had been her life and the lives of many others she hadn't been able to save.

Ceon swayed off of the paved pathway and into the wooded area, drawing his massive revolver and firing the branches off of trees. Before he could squeeze off his last round of the six chambers, he picked up a vaguely familiar scent. It was a scent that reminded him of shame, of anger, and of sorrow. Ceon pocketed the revolver, but left the hammer cocked back. Claws shifted over his meaty fingers and silver fur coated his arms and legs. He shifted his head towards the oncoming scent, his beard swaying as the wind picked up.

The moment revolver shots met her sensitive ears, the huntress automatically unleashed an inhuman growl capable of curdling the blood of the devil himself. Eyes now the amber colour of her wolven form's, she pressed forward with more urgency in her step. Being too late was not an option as far as the hunter leader was concerned and her movements were now fast enough that it would prove difficult for the human eye to track her. She would be upon a human before they had the chance to respond, a power she chose not to abuse like so many others of her kind. Instead she used them to protect and defend the innocent from harm.

Within moments Meredith was upon Ceon's slowly morphing form, releasing a growl meant as a warning, amber eyes glowing from the darkness. It was evident that she was deliberately keeping her distance from him. She knew his violent, erratic tendencies and while she was more than capable of fending him off it really wasn't something she desired to do. The hunter leader, however, was on especially high alert considering the scent of liquor seeped from his breath. Skepticism and suspicion lined the wolf-like woman's features as she sized Ceon up shamelessly.

"It would seem gluttony's your greatest sin nowadays. Is there ever a time you don't reek of liquor?" Her words were cold, whether they were meant to provoke the lycan and incite his rage were not revealed from Meredith's own tone of voice or stoic countenance. She merely held her ground and waited for a response, much like a scientist awaiting and analyzing their addition of a volatile chemical to an already highly unstable compound.

Ceon gazed at her, unamused by the remark. "There's not much else to do. I can't even seem to get drunk anymore...how have you been?" She hadn't changed a bit, physically or mentally, and Ceon was glad that she hadn't. He flicked the cig to the ground, creating a small shower of ember. He was highly curious, and took an intimidating step towards her.
PostPosted: Mon Oct 22, 2012 6:35 pm

It was easy enough for Meredith to determine that Ceon wasn't amused by her remark based on the droll expression he offered her upon responding to her. Upon revealing to her he was having a hard time getting drunk at all anymore she merely rolled her eyes, clearly not very sympathetic of his situation. Drowning oneself in their sorrows was perceived by the hunter leader as weak. Weakness was not something she found she had become far less tolerant of over the years. It was not something she condoned. She expected all of her hunters to be in their best state of mind and top shape in order to come out on top and make informed decisions that weren't detrimental to their well being.

"Apparently there is. Or are you telling me shooting your revolver off in the middle of the park apparently is just an unfortunate condition you've come down with? Some illness, some disease you've happened to come by?" The hunter leader's words were filled to the brink of the glass with sarcasm, perhaps even overflowing over the edges of the glass. She found his little commotion absolutely moronic, the way he intentionally drew attention to himself. Had it been someone aside from herself he very well could have been bathed in blood this very moment.

Upon Ceon taking a step closer toward her, she sensed his desire to test her and see how she would react. And while her dislike of his advance toward her was made evident by an audible growl, she held her ground all the same. Perhaps he'd succeeded in intimidating others with his antics but he should have learned long ago that Meredith did not fear him by any means.

Ceon licked his teeth slowly. She and Ceon both knew of his past, as well as his issue with anger. He didn't want to succumb to her sarcasm, but he loved it at the same time. To Ceon, fighting her seemed more like a game. "Maybe I was just bored and needed to get some steam off? It's not like I was shooting at anyone." His tone changed to match Edith's sarcastic one, "What's a' matter officer? You gonna arrest big ol' me?" Ceon's lip shifted into a playful, fanged grin.
PostPosted: Mon Oct 22, 2012 7:24 pm

Ceon's temper, in Meredith's past experiences with him had seemed to know no bounds. He had lost his family, his life, a lot due to his temper and all of this the hunter leader was all too aware of. Perhaps it was part of the reason why she'd never been able to bring herself to severely harm him. It was definitely the quality of his that made her the most wary of him as it was his most volatile aspect. It made him less predictable at times, it robbed him of his sanity, of the kindness he was capable of. While she wanted to trust him, she was like a dog who had been beaten one too many times and no longer possessed the ability to trust.

The hunter leader rolled her eyes yet again as he suggested needing to blow off steam. She could think of far more productive ways to do so that didn't involve grabbing the attention of whoever was in the park. "You could do so in a much less ostentatious manner. Are you wanting the whole of New York to come by you and start a riot out of fear once they come by you? You are so reckless. If one of my hunters found you as opposed to me this could have very well turned into blood shed." She sighed in exasperation, frustrated that Ceon hadn't changed one bit, still just as reckless yet at the same time relieved that at least one aspect from her past hadn't gone and changed on her.

Once his tone changed to a sarcastic one that was made with the sole purpose of mocking her, the hunter leader found her own temper starting to rear its ugly head. With a snarl she responded to him, grateful he hadn't chosen to proceed closer to her, "You are well aware I am no officer. You would be so lucky as to be arrested by me, no, if you cross me you will be taught a lesson, not arrested." The fact that he mocked what she stood for, what she did, already had the beast inside her roaring in fury, begging to be unleashed upon him in all its glory and wrath.

Ceon slipped the revolver out from his pocket, the metal glinting in the moonlight, and spun the chamber with the one bullet in it. He flipped the chamber back and let his gun rest at his side. His gaze pierced into Edith, as if he was trying to stare into her soul. "You think I give a damn about your code of ethics for the city? I have no pity for the mortals. They are ignorant pieces of meat that gather themselves like cattle. The only way there will ever be peace is when we are long gone from this place."

His head dipped to the side, eyes locked with hers as his lycan ears poked out from the back of his head. Ceon then returned his head back to normal position, meeting it with the gun of his revolver. "...Or maybe you should teach me a lesson. But maybe you're just too afraid of me. Are you willing to take that chance?" His finger squeezed the trigger slowly, which ended in a simple "click." The hammer cocked back into position, and his finger rested on the trigger.
PostPosted: Tue Oct 23, 2012 12:06 pm

The hunter leader's eyes narrowed as Ceon chose to raise his revolver, fooling around with it as though it was some form of toy. His arrogance was something she was starting to lose patience with. Even more so the look he was giving her as though he was attempting to somehow frighten her annoyed her even more so. She wasn't afraid of a drunk lycan that could barely keep his life let alone keep it together. "I don't care if you give a damn about my code of ethics. You will abide by it or I will hunt you down. It's as simple as that. Consider me their shepard; you so much as touch one of my cattle and it's lights out for the big bad wolf."

Meredith was not by any means amused by Ceon's antics. It was evident he'd grown a lot bolder. Perhaps back when she'd been naive she would have given him a chance, trusted him not to harm her but the hardened hunter she was now knew better. This was a game to him. Cat and mouse. He perceived her as the mouse but he was gravely mistaken to take her as such. She was not feeble or meek by any means and when the revolver was clicked in her direction her eyes only narrowed further as a growl was emitted from her throat.

"Do not take me bothering to be patient with you as being afraid. I am far from afraid of you and you should remember this from the past. I am the leader of the hunters for a reason, I'd advise you not forget that." Her patience was wearing thin. The beast inside her sensed the harm Ceon intended to cause her and was pressing against all her being to be unleashed. Her human side, however, would not allow it. In a sense she was protecting Ceon, he just didn't realize it was from herself.

Ceon held the revolver to his head again and squeezed...another hollow "click." He could sense the burning fury that resided in her wolven form, and it made him smile softly. "It's not healthy for you to keep yourself suppressed. You'll end up tearing yourself apart" The bearded giant stepped closer to her, not necessarily trying to test her, but just for the sake of moving closer. "You're empty threats may work on a pup, but not on a veteran like me." Ceon threw his shirt off, revealing the myriad of scars that coated his form like braille. "After what either of us have been through, do you really have the heart to dispatch me?"
